Gauteng will experience mild weather conditions

Residents across Gauteng should prepare for a crisp start to the week as daytime highs are expected to remain mild.
The South African Weather Service has forecast cool to warm conditions for most parts of the province.
'We are expecting fairly mild conditions, with a high of 20°C in Johannesburg and 22°C in Pretoria,' said Phemelo Zonke.
While Gauteng residents will not experience severe weather alerts, Zonke warned that strong winds affecting other parts of the country may impact travel routes passing through central regions.
'A yellow level 1 warning has been issued for damaging interior winds through the central regions of the Northern Cape into the northeastern parts. This could lead to difficult driving conditions and possible disruption to structures,' she said.
Although Gauteng is not directly affected, residents planning to travel over the next few days, primarily through connecting routes, should remain cautious.
Forecasters also predict that high-level cloud will linger over parts of the province, contributing to cooler mornings and evenings.
'There will be some high-level cloud from time to time, but overall we're looking at stable and mild weather over Gauteng,' Zonke said.
With temperatures in nearby regions such as Limpopo peaking at 27°C in Phalaborwa and 25°C in Lephalale, Gauteng sits comfortably within the cool to warm range expected during this transitional period.

WEATHER: Cold front to bring rain in Gauteng on Thursday

Heavy rain and cold weather conditions are expected in Gauteng on Thursday as a cold front moves across much of the country, according to the South African Weather Service (SAWS). This cold snap will bring freezing temperatures starting Tuesday and continuing through the end of the week. These conditions may represent winter's last cold spell before the transition to spring. Gauteng is preparing for a significant drop in temperatures from Thursday into the weekend. Forecasts indicate that Johannesburg could reach a low of 5°C on Thursday, with daytime highs only reaching 12°C. In Pretoria, temperatures are expected to drop to 7°C, with a high of 14°C. Scattered rainfall is expected in Gauteng on Thursday throughout the day. Additionally, daytime temperatures across most parts of the country are projected to decrease significantly beginning Wednesday, with a gradual recovery expected from Saturday onward. The South African Weather Service will continue to monitor further developments related to the weather systems and will provide updates regarding the cold front. Residents are advised to limit outdoor activities, especially during rain or snow, and to ensure proper ventilation when using fuel-based heating to prevent the buildup of carbon monoxide. Parts of KwaZulu-Natal will face high fire danger conditions

KwaZulu-Natal will enjoy clear skies tomorrow, 5 August, although isolated showers and thunderstorms may reach parts of the province's interior. According to Phemelo Zonke, the eastern regions of South Africa, including KwaZulu-Natal, will remain relatively dry compared to the Western and Eastern Cape. 'While Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal stay largely dry, eastern Free State and parts of Mpumalanga could experience isolated to scattered thundershowers,' Zonke explained. Despite no major weather warnings for KZN, high fire danger conditions remain a concern for parts of the province. Residents are urged to take precautions to prevent runaway fires, especially in drier rural areas. 'There's an elevated fire risk for northern interior parts of KwaZulu-Natal, particularly where temperatures rise and humidity drops,' Zonke warned.
