Story:
The story of Kannappa follows the transformative journey of Thinnadu, a tribal youth who evolves into a devout follower of Lord Shiva. Vishnu Manchu stands tall in the titular role, especially in the emotionally charged second half where his portrayal of Kannappa reaches its peak. The climactic scenes showcasing his ultimate devotion to Lord Shiva are some of the most powerful moments in the film.
Mohan Babu steals every scene with his commanding dialogue delivery and charismatic screen presence, earning thunderous applause from audiences.Prabhas appears in a brief but impactful role as Rudra, elevating the narrative with his powerful aura and resonant dialogues.Sharath Kumar, as Thinnadu's father, lends gravitas to a short yet meaningful role.Preethi Mukundhan, though limited by screen time, shines with her grace and chemistry with Vishnu.Cameos by Mohanlal and Akshay Kumar add weight and spiritual texture to the film.
Technicalities:
Mukesh Kumar Singh direction is top-notch. The way he handled the story and hooked audience until last frame should be appreciated. Stephen Devassy's music is a standout feature. Analysis:
Kannappa is not just a film—it's a heartfelt tribute to devotion, sacrifice, and spiritual transformation. Vishnu's dedication, both as actor and producer, is evident in every frame. While the first half is decent, the second half delivers an emotional high that lingers. The film's climax, in particular, is deeply affecting and has left many teary-eyed.Living up to the hype, Kannappa delivers a moving spiritual experience backed by grand visuals and heartfelt performances.
On a whole, Kannappa is a career-defining film for Vishnu Manchu. With powerful cameos, stirring music, and emotionally resonant storytelling, this devotional epic is a cinematic journey that blends faith with grandeur.

Kannappa movie review: A messy epic where devotion arrives too late

First off, because people had modest to low expectations on this film, it's safe to say that there are many positives here, more than expected. Vishnu Manchu's much-publicised magnum opus positions itself as a spiritual retelling of a tribal warrior's transformation into Lord Shiva's most ardent devotee. Unfortunately, it spends more time in disjointed subplots that don't do anything to the plot. By the time Kannappa finally discovers the pulse of its own story, some two hours into its bloated runtime, the audience is already spiritually liberated from the act of caring. Director: Mukesh Kumar Singh Cast: Vishnu Manchu, Mohan Babu, Prabhas, Mohanlal, Akshay Kumar, Kajal Aggarwal Kannappa is based on the classic arc of the non-believer-turned believer. Our protagonist Thinnadu (Vishnu Manchu) is an atheist in the second century who despises the rituals of his tribes and rebels against the norms. Which sounds promising on paper, except the film never explores what that really means. Instead, we are launched into a painfully superficial love story with Nemali (Preity Mukundhan), which mostly serves as an excuse for the awkward age-gap romance and heavy midriff shots. After an uninspired war, an ironic love story, and a brief encounter with the divine, Thinnadu evolves into the devout Kannappa.

Sitaare Zameen Par 2nd Friday India Box Office: Aamir Khan starrer holds strong amidst new found competition; Nets steady Rs 6.25 crore on day 8

Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh led Sitaare Zameen Par, directed by RS Prasanna held steady on 2nd Friday at the India box office, adding a winning Rs 6-6.50 crore net. The numbers more or less match the first Thursday numbers and this indicates a strong hold, since there are new movies like Maa, Kannappa and F1 that have flooded the marketplace. For Sitaare Zameen Par to remain the most preferred movie option among the abovementioned films goes to show the support it is enjoying. The Day Wise India Net Collections Of Sitaare Zameen Par Are As Under Sitaare Zameen Par Is All Set To Enter The Rs 100 Crore India Net Club After the second Friday, Sitaare Zameen Par stands at Rs 93.75 crore and it will cross the Rs 100 crore mark tomorrow, that is its second Saturday. The expectation is that the movie will almost double itself on Saturday and then consolidate further on Sunday, for a Rs 30 crore range 2nd weekend. An under 50 percent weekend to weekend drop shall be a something that the makers will be very proud of. Sitaare Zameen Par Is Likely To Face Stiff Competition In Theatres In The Next Week It is competition next week that will be slightly challenging for Sitaare Zameen Par. While F1 will retain IMAX screens and premium multiplex screens, Maa, Jurassic World Rebirth and Metro... In Dino will also fight for screens. Sitaare Zameen Par, being a film targeting Metros, will feel the heat of the competition. Regardless, one would expect that the dramedy would have done substantial business in theatres by the start of the third weekend. For the cost and scale of the film, Sitaare Zameen Par has done well for itself so far. Definitely, it isn't like the business one would expect from a quintessential Aamir Khan film. But, the film was written off by most before it released, and now it is going to challenge Housefull 5 and Raid 2's lifetime India net total. Sitaare Zameen Par In Theatres Sitaare Zameen Par plays in theatres now. Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more updates on Sitaare Zameen Par.
