Major League Baseball Acquires Stake in Creator-Led Jomboy Media
The league is acquiring a stake in Jomboy Media, with the company and MLB set to strike a strategic partnership that will lead to the development of new content and IP. Jomboy is led by CEO Courtney Hirsch, who was elevated to the role in March, as well as founders Jimmy O'Brien and Jake Storiale.

Jomboy's content includes Talkin' Baseball and Talkin' Yanks as well as The Warehouse Games, which applies TV-level production to backyard pick up games. MLB says it will work with Jomboy to get MLB stars and celebrities to participate.
Jomboy is also known for his signature 'breakdown' videos on YouTube and other social platforms, including sports highlights, but also pop culture events like his breakdown of the Will Smith-Chris Rock Oscars slap heard round the world.
'I continue to be amazed by what our community enables us to do through their endless support,' O'Brien says. 'When we started talking about baseball on the internet, it was just a fun hobby. Our community is the reason we've been able to turn this from 'just a hobby,' into something bigger than we ever could've imagined. Partnering with MLB marks a huge moment for Jomboy Media, and through this partnership, we'll be able to give back to our community with storytelling that's deeper than ever before.'

'We have long admired the passionate fandom of Jimmy O'Brien and his unique ability to connect with baseball fans,' added Noah Garden, MLB deputy commissioner for business and media. 'This partnership will ensure that Jomboy Media will have the resources and access to MLB intellectual property necessary to help it continue to grow. We are looking forward to bringing baseball fans more entertaining content to help further expand baseball's online presence and deeper the connection between our sport and its fans.'
MLB has its own in-house studio, but the deal with Jomboy gives it a stake not only in an outside media company, but also a slice of the creator economy, which has become a critical part of the live sports puzzle for every major league.
'This partnership with MLB is a major milestone for Jomboy Media,' said Hirsch. 'We've always believed that deep storytelling and our unique approach to content and community can grow the game — and now we're excited to do that alongside the league itself. This collaboration gives us the opportunity to scale what we do best and reach more fans than ever.'
Jomboy's investors include producer Jack Davis, who is said to be critical to this deal getting done, Connect Ventures, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Eli Roth, Cameron Fuller, WWE, Quinn Cook, Billy Crystal, Josh Hader, Gabrielle Union, Dwyane Wade, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, current and former Major League Baseball players Christian Yelich, C.C. Sabathia, Noah Syndergaard and Trea Turner, and NBA player Karl-Anthony Towns.

Are the Dodgers back to championship form?
Yahoo Sports senior MLB analyst Jordan Shusterman and Lance Brozdowski of Marquee Sports dissect the recent surge by the defending World Series champions and the impactful players returning to the lineup. Hear the full conversation on the 'Baseball Bar-B-Cast' podcast - and subscribe on Apple Podcasts, Spotify or wherever you listen. View more Video Transcript I still think this was a very good weekend for the Dodgers to see the offense start to click. To see Mookie start to look better, to see Snell look the way that he did. I think there's a lot of positives and oh, Tony, I mean, holy crap, like what, unbelievable. He's gonna win MVP. I was a bit like disappointed they didn't make more moves at the deadline or I'm not, not disappointed, but just a little surprised, you know. And I think, I think a lot of the time like GMs and people would just be like, well, we have this guy coming off the IL and that is our deadline move. But I kind of feel like, I kind of feel like the Dodgers actually can execute that properly. Because the names were good enough. Sometimes it's like they're trying to sell you like the Cubs are trying to sell you. James and Ty coming off the IL. Great dude, I love him, but like, it's not really a deadline acquisition. Javier Assad, like, OK, are we getting World Baseball Classic aside, like the Dodgers can go, OK, Bobby Miller all of a sudden is up in the field. He's sitting 99 in the pen at AAA. Roki's gonna come back. I think they bring him back as a reliever would be my guess, which is honestly what I kind of always thought he was. Um, he's not, I don't don't think he's the mix to be a starting pitcher or the spin capacity or anything. And then you bring back Snell and Otani looks great and all of a sudden it's like, oh yeah, that's they're they're probably the the favorite to win the World Series, right? Muny. I know you're focused on the pitchers, rightfully so. Muny back is a huge deal, and that's where you start to have a lineup that looks like the best in baseball, right? And if you do get Mookie going again, Freddie's been awesome and now Tony looking the way that he does. And you mentioned Bobby Miller and Roy, yeah, those two guys in, in how they contribute in any capacity down the stretch. It could be zero innings. It's possible we see them throw zero Major League innings for the rest of the way. It's possible they end up being, uh, very important. We'll see what happens with Tanner Scott. They still have some other relievers, um, that are coming back, but I mean, Otani, like he, he looks better and better now on the mound every time out, the workload is increasing, and he's, you know, going to hit 50 homers again. All The Smoke/YouTube 'Because I was young and I had only, honestly, been in one relationship before her, my knowledge and my understanding, my wisdom around relationships just wasn't vast,' Justice began. 'So, I'm looking at my mom, and I'm a Midwest guy,' he continued. 'So, in my mind, I'm thinking a wife at that time should cook, clean. Then I'm thinking, 'OK, if we have kids, is this the woman I want to have kids with and build a family with?'' 'At that time, as a young guy, she don't cook, don't clean, don't really seem like motherly, and then we start having issues,' the three-time MLB All-Star added. Historic female MLB umpire Jen Pawol's debut performance results behind home plate are finally in
Jen Pawol made MLB history over the weekend as the first female umpire to be featured in a big league game after over a decade serving in the minor leagues. While she made her debut on the bases during the Atlanta Braves-Miami Marlins Saturday doubleheader, she was behind the plate for the first time during the series' finale on Sunday. Pawol's umpire report card is in. UmpScorecards, which accumulates data for all home plate umpires throughout the season, shared Pawol's performance results from Sunday. She called 92.72% of balls and strikes accurately, according to the outlet, getting 140 out of 151 taken pitches called correctly. The average for umpires this season has been 94.23%, according to the data. Breaking down the report card more, Pawol's called ball accuracy was 95%, with five of the 104 balls called inaccurately. The average for umpires this season is 97%. For called strike accuracy, her mark was 88%, which is the average for all umpires in 2025. She called six of 47 strikes inaccurately, according to the report. While the relative accuracy was -1.4% below expected, Pawol received a great review from Marlins manager Clayton McCullough after the game. "I think Jen did a really nice job," he said, via The New York Post. "I think she's very composed back there. She handled and managed the game very well. And big day for her. Big day for Major League Baseball. I congratulated her again on that because it's quite the accomplishment." Pawol, who played softball at Hofstra University, spent 10 seasons in the minor leagues, serving as an umpire for more than 1,200 games. She said that "the dream actually came true" when she ran onto the field during Saturday's doubleheader, where a loud cheer from fans at Truist Park in Atlanta rained down. "I'm still living in it, and I'm just so grateful to my family, to Major League Baseball for just creating such an amazing work environment, to the umpires that I work with – we have just amazing camaraderie. We're working hard, but we're having fun. And I'm just so thankful," Pawol said. While Pawol's next MLB assignment remains unclear – she's what's considered a rover that is called up from the minor leagues to call games – history was made in Atlanta this weekend.
