Prateik Babbar Reveals REAL Reason For Not Inviting Dad Raj Babbar To His Wedding
Prateik Babbar said it was the best decision taken by him and his wife, Priya Banerjee.
Prateik Babbar and Priya Banerjee got married in an intimate wedding ceremony on February 14, 2025, at Prateik's late mother Smita Patil's house in Mumbai. They were surrounded by their closest family and friends during the celebration. However, Raj Babbar, Arya Babbar and Juhi Babbar were not invited to the wedding, and this created a stir on social media. The actor has now revealed the real reason why he didn't invite Raj Babbar and his family.
Prateik told Zoom, 'My father's wife (Nadira) and my mother (Smita Patil) had some complications in the past, lots of things have been said in the press and stuff like that, if you dig out 38-40 years ago. I was open to doing something with my father and his family for another function."
'I just thought it was unethical to have him and his family at that house after everything had went on between them. Absolutely, it wasn't right. The right thing to do was what we did, and then if, obviously, now circumstances are different, everything has gone South, and it's extremely complicated. But it's not for me. I'm still the same," the actor mentioned.
He added, 'It wasn't about rejecting anyone. It was about respecting my mother and her wishes… I'm sorry my father and his wife could not be there, could not be in the house my mother bought for me to grow up and live a life as a single mother. She wanted to live in that house with me as a single mother. Bring me up. I'm sorry."
'That was the best decision my wife and I made. And it could have been a very, very subtle scenario, and everything could have been subtle. But people are impulsive, people make impulsive choices and say things out of impulse, and it was just distasteful, and I think that bitter taste has remained," he concluded.

Wamiqa Gabbi admits pay disparity exists in Bollywood: ‘Reasoning is that a male actor can pull more audience'
Actor Wamiqa Gabbi called out the pay gap in the film industry. In a new interview, she questioned why male actors' fees aren't scrutinised or reduced when their films flop, while women often bear the brunt of criticism and pay cuts. Also read: Here's how Shah Rukh Khan reacted when Wamiqa Gabbi told him 'nas kat lungi' at first meeting During a conversation with Zoom, Wamiqa spoke about the issue of pay disparity in the industry, saying women continue to be paid less than their male counterparts. 'The fact that pay disparity exists doesn't consume me, but there is this feeling that you're a woman and you will be paid less and that is how it is. The reasoning is that a male actor can pull that much audience, but you can't make a film without the heroine. I don't understand the logic behind this. Sometimes, they take a hero and pay a lot of money, and then the film doesn't work. Why doesn't their fees get affected?" Wamiqa said. And the actor is finding her own way to fight back against the pay gap. She added, 'I want to find different ways to earn that money. I wish to do it in a creative way where I feel happier and decrease that pay gap for myself. I can't deny this fact that pay disparity is there. Not every 'male-centric' film can do without the female lead." Wamiqa was recently seen in Bhool Chuk Maaf opposite Rajkummar Rao. The film also stars Seema Pahwa, Sanjay Mishra and Ishtiyak Khan. It is produced by Dinesh Vijan under his banner Maddock Films. Bhool Chuk Maaf revolves around a soon-to-be-married man who realises that he is stuck in a time loop and keeps reliving the day before his wedding. Directed by Karan Sharma, the romantic comedy film was released on May 23. Next, she will be seen in Dil Ka Darwaza Khol Na Darling, Bhooth Bangla and Goodachari 2.

Following the hedonistic, technicolour pop of 'Azizam" and the classic, heartfelt nostalgia of 'Old Phone", Ed Sheeran returns with 'Sapphire" — a dazzling anthem of connection and unbridled joy. Radiating with vibrant pop energy and rich cross-cultural influences, the track is poised to make its mark on summer '25. Sheeran's 'Sapphire" is a luminous celebration of love that transcends boundaries. Fans are taken on a sonic journey both intimate and expansive, brought to life by the production talents of Ilya Salmanzadeh, Johnny McDaid, and Savan Kotecha. Ed's travels take him from the rooftop to serene beaches, riversides, bustling markets, local kitchens and Bollywood backlots. Highlights include meeting up with Arijit for a studio session and motorcycle ride around his hometown, plus a visit to the A.R. Rahman music school, where he performs with local musicians. Talking about his latest song, Ed says, 'Sapphire was the first song I finished for Play that made me know where the album was heading. It's why I finished the recording process in Goa surrounded by some of the best musicians in India. It was an incredible creative process. I shot the music video with Liam and Nic across my India tour earlier this year, we wanted to showcase the beauty and breadth of the country and its culture. The final jigsaw piece for me was getting Arijit on the record. It was a journey to get there and such an amazing day of music and family. Me and him have done a full Punjabi version of the song that will come out in the next few weeks, which has a lot more of him on it. This is the album version of the song, and my favourite song on the album. Hope you guys love it." First Published:
