Pic follows Kyle Roberts (Freeman), a once-revered rock 'n' roll star battling burnout and inner demons. Seeking solace in a remote sanctuary, his pursuit of peace is shattered when a gang of petty criminals infiltrates his retreat, holding him hostage in an escalating standoff. As tensions rise, Kyle must reckon with whether he has the courage to fight back or if he'll succumb to the shadows of his fractured psyche.
The project hails from producers Andrea Bucko, whose upcoming credits include Bucking Fastard, Alpha Gang and Dead Man's Wire, Emanuele Moretti (Assassin Club), and Neil Sacker. Moretti's Cobalt Sky Motion Picture Group is launching at Cannes and this is its debut movie. Jordan Claire Robbins and Nini Le Huynh are executive-producing.
Adams' résumé includes She Is Love (BFI London 2023), Love Spreads (Tribeca), Wild Honey Pie! (SXSW), and Black Mountain Poets. His films are known for their raw intimacy, actor-driven storytelling, and lyrical tone. He is currently in post-production on his next feature Turn Up the Sun, slated for a 2025 release, and Let's Love, also starring Freeman.

The Hobbit and Black Panther star Freeman is in post on multiple movies, including fantasy project Momo. Quantum Of Solace and Oblivion star Kurylenko is also in post on multiple projects, including thriller Turbulence.

It's a career-defining performance from Freeman as well, so fans may want to soak up the acting legend's talent before he signs off the big screen for good. In an interview earlier this year with USA TODAY, Freeman hinted at a possible impending retirement, saying: "I imagine … I might be at the point where I say, 'OK, y'all, I quit.'" When 'Americana' Will Be Available to Stream and How to Watch
A lot of summer blockbusters have been released lately, like Superman, Jurassic World Rebirth, and The Fantastic Four: First Steps. But if you're looking for something a little smaller and a little less CGI, you might want to check out the Western-thriller-heist film Americana. The debut feature from director Tony Tost is about a group of people in South Dakota, who are all trying to get their hands on a valuable Lakota ghost shirt said to be worth a million dollars. The cast includes Sydney Sweeney, Halsey, Paul Walter Hauser, Zahn McClarnon, and Simon Rex. Curious to see pop singer Halsey in an acting role? Intrigued by the idea of Sweeney playing a diner waitress/wannabe country singer? Read on to find out when and where you can check out Americana. Americana will be in theaters starting Friday, August 15. As is usually the case with theatrical releases, early showings will start in many cinemas the day before. But while Americana is hitting theaters now, it's actually a 2023 movie. It premiered at South by Southwest two years ago. According to Deadline, the delay may have been due to financial issues involving one of the film's production companies. If you want to watch Americana at your local theater—woohoo, popcorn! woohoo, helping movie theaters stay in business!—simply look up the showtimes and get going. You can buy tickets from your theater's website, on Fandango, or in person. You will be able to watch Americana at home, it's just a question of when. Americana is distributed by Lionsgate. The John Wick spinoff Ballerina, which was also distributed by Lionsgate, was made available on Video-on-Demand (meaning, you can pay to rent it on a platform like Amazon Prime Video) about a month after its theatrical release. You can expect something similar for Americana. As for streaming, Lionsgate movies tend to go to Starz first, followed by Peacock. To again use Ballerina as a reference point, it premiered in theaters June 6 and is not streaming on either of those platforms as of mid-August. After uproar, documentary on Hamas 2023 attack will screen at Toronto Film Festival
NEW YORK — The Toronto International Film Festival will screen a documentary on the 2023 Hamas attack , after all, following an uproar over the film's disinvitation from the upcoming festival. Earlier this week, TIFF withdrew its invitation to the film 'The Road Between Us: The Ultimate Rescue.' The festival said the decision was based in part on legal clearance for footage used in the documentary. Deadline, which first reported the news, said a sticking point was the identification and legal clearance of Hamas militants' own livestreaming of the attack.
