🤩 Tottenham star turns on the European heroics once again

Yahoo2 days ago
Some players just thrive on the biggest stages and Micky Van de Ven is proving to be the big-game player for Tottenham.
The towering defender was one of Spurs' heroes in the 1-0 Europa Cup final win against Man United in May, producing a full-stretch goalline clearance to help his side preserve their lead.
Just three months later, the Dutchman has popped up again in a European final, but at the other end this time, tapping in from Lucas Chevalier's save to give Tottenham a 1-0 first-half lead over PSG in the UEFA Super Cup.
Can the North Londoners hold on to their first-half advantage in Udine?

£25m agreement opens door for SPECIAL winger to join Liverpool

Liverpool could be preparing an exciting move before the transfer window shuts close. Even though there have been a lot of new faces arriving at Anfield, Richard Hughes isn't just done yet. Liverpool are set to complete a move for Giovanni Leoni. 🚨2025/26 LFC x adidas range🚨 LFC x adidas Shop the away range TODAY LFC x adidas Shop the home range today! But the duo may not the only potential new signings before the September first deadline. While Liverpool have already brought in a lot of new players, it's also important to note that a lot of players have left. From Trent Alexander-Arnold to Caoimhin Kelleher, Jarell Quansah, Tyler Morton, Luis Diaz to Darwin Nunez. Now the latest departure from the club is expected to be Ben Doak. Liverpool have agreed a £25m move to sell him to Bournemouth as per The Guardian. 🔴 Doak was on the bench at Wembley, so he was considered to be part of Arne Slot's plans. This is because Liverpool have lost three senior attackers this summer, and have only brought in Hugo Ekitike so far. Florian Wirtz could play in an attacking position but that's not the role he was signed for. Alexander Isak may be brought in. But even his arrival will leave Liverpool at least one player short compared to last season. And that's before we even start to think about the possibility of Federico Chiesa leaving. So, given Doak's departure, the doors have definitely opened for Liverpool to not just sign Isak and Guehi but a winger as well. DaveOCKOP seems to confirm this, with an exclusive report Liverpool are looking at wingers in the £60-70m range. Who might that winger be? Well, one player who a Liverpool move might now be open for is Yankuba Minteh. Liverpool wanted to sign him last summer. He has worked with Arne Slot in the past, while he went out on loan to Feyenoord during the 2023/24 season and actually thrived under the Dutchman. Minteh has had an impressive debut campaign in the Premier League. He was nominated for the Player of the Month at one point, and finished the season with seven goal contributions in his last 14 starts. His speed and his work rate makes him the perfect player for Liverpool's system. While he predominantly plays as a right-winger, he can also play as a left-winger. Crucially, The Gambia did not qualify for AFCON this year, so he'll be available when Salah leaves in December to compete at the tournament. Minteh is a special talent, and someone Slot and Liverpool both clearly rate highly. With Doak's departure, the doors are now ajar for him to join the Reds.

Liverpool FC News: Underrated star SHINES as new animal unleashed

Liverpool have so many great players that it's easy for fans to underrate them. When the Reds lost on penalties to Crystal Palace in the Community Shield, that's exactly what happened with one of Arne Slot's main forwards. The abuse he got online was horrific to be honest. 🚨2025/26 LFC x adidas range🚨 LFC x adidas Shop the away range TODAY LFC x adidas Shop the home range today! But as with most things, time is a great healer and on Friday night in Liverpool's Premier League opener against Bournemouth, all was forgiven after a moment of brilliance in the second half. 🔴 Shop the LFC 2025/26 adidas away range At long last, it feels right to only give the player his due credit. Cody Gakpo is a serious player. unleashed Gakpo - A winger unleashed Liverpool had an interesting dynamic at left-wing last season, as Gakpo had to share the position with Luis Diaz, even though the Colombian occasionally played as a centre-forward as well. Nothing was how it should have been. Gakpo had times where he could shine, but in certain games, he'd be left on the bench to be brought on as a game-changer or shoehorned in as a striker. To Diaz's credit, he could play the more central role. It didn't work all the time, but the match against Leverkusen in the Champions League where he scored a hat-trick. It was an imperious performance. But now that the 28-year-old has moved to Bayern Munich, we're now in a situation where Gakpo will finally get his chance to be the main man on that left-hand side. In some people's minds, competition for places makes players better, but in my view, Gakpo deserves to trusted full-time. Of course, Rio Ngumoha is now part of the first-team and the 16-year-old will be itching to make his mark on the side, despite his age and inexperience, but Gakpo will get most of the minutes. Against Bournemouth, the Dutchman was at his best - running down the channel relentlessly, taking on players, cutting in and cutting out and winning countless duels to be a difference-maker in attack. His goal in the 49th minute was quintessentially Gakpo, dribbling in from the left into the centre at the edge of the box before getting a shot away at goal, except this time, he placed it into the corner. The fans are always going to be the players harshest critics, for better or for worse. His performance at the Community Shield wasn't great, let's not rewrite history. But no one really had their best game. Right now, Gakpo is one of three senior forwards that Arne Slot has available and we need to back him whenever he plays for us, as we should with each of the players. The 26-year-old is a real talent and he's creeping into the territory of becoming underrated. Deep down, each of us knows that he's an unbelievable talent. Hopefully he finally get a chance to play a bit more in the limelight this season.

Report – Manchester United Jump To The Head Of The Queue For PSG Goalkeeper Amid Inter Milan Interest

Manchester United have reportedly overtaken Inter Milan in the race to sign Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. According to Tuttosport via FCInternews, the Red Devils have jumped to the head of the queue. Gianluigi Donnarumma could leave Paris at the end of next season. Indeed, his contract at the Parc des Princes runs out in less than 12 months. Furthermore, PSG's contract extension offer has failed to meet the 26-year-old's appetites. The Swiss star will leave the club next summer, with the Nerazzurri already scouring the market for a new keeper. Although Donnarumma ticks all the boxes, Man Utd have reportedly moved ahead of Inter in the transfer race. Like the San Siro giants, Ruben Amorim's men are in the market for a new shot-stopper. Indeed, Andre Onana has flopped at Old Trafford, forcing the club to explore other options. On the other hand, Donnarumma has what it takes to succeed in Manchester.
