Should Keir Starmer remove Prince Andrew's titles? New Book lifts lid on York family, rekindles debate over royal position
The book, entitled The Rise and Fall of the House of York, has been exclusively serialised by the Daily Mail following four years of research and hundreds of interviews.
Lownie revealed a series of the York family's secrets, ranging from Prince Andrew's unusual sexual habits to Sarah Ferguson's association with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
"There is very little that the Royal Family can actually do when it comes to Prince Andrew," said Daily Mail's Editor-at-Large Richard Kay on the latest episode of "Palace Confidential."
"He's been effectively sacked. He's the only royal prince who has been sacked from public life that I can think of.
"Short of sending him far, far away - and who would want him? - I think it's very insulting when I keep reading suggestions of sending him to the Falkland Islands. Do the people there particularly want Prince Andrew? I doubt it very much.
"So it's difficult to know what to do with him. He's just going to be there. They have managed it fairly well. He doesn't have any kind of public role. "What about stripping him of everything? Well, he was born a prince, and he was given a dukedom.
"The one thing they could possibly do would be to remove the dukedom, but I think it would have to come through parliament, and I can't see any government of any shade wanting to get involved in anything like this.
It would open up a real can of worms."

Rebecca, who has covered the royal beat for the Daily Mail since 2004, added: "It's a hugely tricky one for them because he is there and he exists. They can't airbrush him out - he is a member of their family." In an exclusive interview in the latest edition of the Daily Mail's royal newsletter, "Palace Confidential", Lownie stated he contacted over 3,000 former school contemporaries, staff, colleagues, and associates of the couple.
"Of whom 300 spoke to me," Lownie said.
"Some on the record, but most off. "They felt it was time to challenge the York family's carefully curated narrative. It is difficult because there tends to be a code of silence about the royals (no one wants to be cast out of the privileged circle).
"Additionally, their staff have to sign NDAs, royals are not fully subject to the Freedom of Information Act and there are strict limits on what questions MPs can ask about them in Parliament.
"I could also add the letters I received threatening to sue me, before a word of the manuscript had been seen. Charming people."
In the "Palace Confidential" episode, Richard Kay pointed out that within the Royal Family, there is an instinct to "circle the wagons and protect one of their own".
He added: "Their first response in all these cases is 'Oh, it's just the press, it's the media.' This is different. This is a graphic book written by a figure who has some substance in the writing he has done.
"You can't just brush this away." Having covered the royal beat for more than 20 years, Richard Eden shared his views on whether Andrew should be stripped of his titles.
He said: "Certainly, what the King could do, and something that I have advocated for a long while, is strip him of his role as a Counsellor of State. "He and Prince Harry still have the legal right to deputise for the King. That could easily be stripped from them, as well as his title of Duke of York or other things if they wanted to.
"He is still in the line of succession. Yes, it would take an Act of Parliament, but that's no big deal. "The King did it recently when he extended the list of Counsellors of State to include Princess Anne and Prince Edward. It could be done very easily indeed.
"That's something which I would strongly suggest he does." Elsewhere in the episode, the panel discussed the possibility of Prince William taking "decisive action" regarding aspects of the monarchy in the coming years.

Chetan Hansraj recalls working 22-hour days for three years in early 2000s TV, calling it a transformative experience. At the height of Indian television's early 2000s boom, when Ekta Kapoor's productions dominated prime time, actors and crews often worked at an unforgiving pace to keep up with the industry's soaring output. Actor Chetan Hansraj, a familiar face in several Balaji Telefilms dramas of that era, has recalled just how demanding the schedule was and why he still considers it one of the best periods of his life. Speaking to Siddharth Kannan on his YouTube channel, Hansraj revealed that during the early years of his television career, he was juggling three shows at the same time – Kkusum, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, and Kya Hadsaa Kya Haqeeqat. 'I was doing three shows at once. I was shooting non-stop. I used to shoot 22-hours-a-day for those 2-3 years in the beginning, non-stop. I would take a nap whenever I got a chance. I would sleep in between shots. I used to carry on like that," he said. He explained that while he occasionally managed a day off, about once every week or two, it was usually only when exhaustion forced him to slow down. Otherwise, he worked continuously, moving from set to set with barely any rest. Unlike some of his peers who have spoken critically of the long hours, Hansraj described those years as invaluable. 'It was the most amazing experience of my life," he said, referring to the early 2000s as the 'golden period of television." Expressing gratitude to Ekta Kapoor for giving him the opportunity, he shared how quickly his career and financial situation improved. 'When 2004 started, my bank balance wasn't that great. In fact, it was too weak. But, by the end of 2004, I got married, I bought a house in Bandra and I bought a car, my first car so my life was transformed," he recalled. Hansraj's memories echo accounts from other television stars who worked during the same period. Shweta Tiwari, who played the lead in Kasautii Zindagii Kay, recently told Bharti Singh on her YouTube channel that she sometimes filmed for 72 hours without a break. 'Our industry was known for the fact that no one ever used to sleep or take rest. I used to shoot for 72 hours straight, without a break. After working a 30-day schedule, I used to get payment for 45 days, and that is because my first shift used to be from 7 in the morning to 7 in the evening, and the second shift was from 7 in the evening to 2 am in the morning," she said. Actor Krystle D'Souza has also spoken about extreme work hours, telling Siddharth Kannan that she once worked for 60 hours straight, even fainting on set from exhaustion. 'I have fainted on the sets so many times. The team had to call for an ambulance. I would get IV drips and medicines, and go back to shoot. Rapper King Yella Faints, Falls Off Chair After Drinking Too Much During Interview
Last Updated: Chicago rapper King Yella collapsed during a YouTube interview after reacting to footage of Tory Lanez being stabbed in prison. Chicago rapper King Yella experienced an unexpected and alarming moment during a recent interview that quickly drew attention online. Known for his work with No Love City, King Yella appeared on YouTube channel Cam Capone News for what was meant to be a nearly two-hour conversation. Throughout the interview, which was posted on August 11, the rapper kept a bottle of Crown Royal whiskey close by, taking frequent sips between questions. As the discussion went on, the effects of the alcohol became increasingly apparent, that led to his sudden collapse. Toward the end of the interview, host Cam Capone showed King Yella footage of rapper Tory Lanez being stabbed during a prison fight earlier this year, a violent incident Yella said he was unaware of prior to seeing the clip. Observing the video, he bluntly commented, 'He's stabbing the shit out his eye," referring to the attacker, inmate Santino Casio. After taking one last drink, Yella set the bottle down and suddenly grimaced, clutching his chest as if in pain. When asked what he thought about the footage, Yella could only manage, 'bro" and 'What the f**k?" before coughing forcefully and falling right out of his chair. Following the attack, he was transferred to the California Men's Colony. The inmate who attacked him, Santino Casio, claimed the assault was an act of self-defense, stating he believed Lanez had a weapon in his pocket.
