Actor Ravi Mohan and his estranged wife Aarti Ravi have been making headlines for a long time now due to the controversy surrounding their divorce. Amid all this, it has now been reported that Aarti has demanded a monthly alimony of Rs 40 lakh from Ravi post their divorce.
As reported by News18 Tamil, Aarti and Ravi attended court this week for their divorce proceedings at the 3rd Additional Family Welfare Court in Chennai. During the hearing, Judge Thenmozhi reviewed Ravi Mohan's petition, in which he clearly stated that reconciliation was not possible and that he wanted a divorce.
In response, Aarti Ravi filed a counter-petition requesting Rs 40 lakhs per month as maintenance, citing the need for financial support after separation. The hearing was then adjourned until 12 June.

She further stated that their marriage failed due to the involvement of a 'third person'.
'The truth needs to be said – once and for all. Money, power, interference, or control-none of these are why our marriage suffers. There is a third person in our marriage. What broke us wasn't something between us-it was someone outside. The 'light of your life" brought only darkness into ours. That's the truth. This person was already in the picture-long before any divorce papers were filed. This isn't guesswork. I have proof," her statement read.
Aarti Ravi and Ravi Mohan tied the knot in 2009, and he announced that he was parting ways with her in 2024. Aarti claimed that she and their sons were 'blindsided' by his announcement. On the other hand, Ravi Mohan claimed of abuse and isolation in his marriage with Aarti.

Tamil film Thug Life saw a sharp 55 per cent drop at the Indian box office, collecting just Rs. 7.50 crore. With this, the Kamal Haasan starrer has grossed Rs. 24.50 crore over two days. The four-day extended weekend of the film is expected to wrap around Rs. 40 crore or so. The film had a relatively better showing overseas with USD 2.25 million first day, but even there it faced big drops on the second day. The film was a dead-on-arrival opening poorly, and then the final nail in the coffin was the outright rejection from the audience. It will likely be lights out for the film on Monday and will hardly have any run after the first week.
