Kansas State Wildcats Key to the Season
Don't turn it over multiple times. The Kansas State style doesn't work when there are mistakes. Some teams are high-risk, high-reward, and that's not how this rolls. Screw up, and things go wrong. The Wildcats turned it over twice in the opener against UT Martin and won easily, but against FBS teams they were 0-4 when turning it over two or more times. BYU, Arizona State, Iowa State, and Houston - all four were losses. When Kansas State didn't turn it over multiple times, it was 9-0.
Kansas State Wildcats Key Player
George Fitzpatrick, OT Jr.The interior of the Kansas State offensive line is loaded with new parts, options, and giant mashers to get the ground game going. Tackle is a slight problem with a few losses, but the staff went after a few prospects, including Fitzpatrick, a 6-6, 309-pound former Ohio State Buckeye. He needs to be a solid starter.

Kansas State Wildcats Top Transfer, Biggest Transfer Loss
Top Transfer In: JB Nelson, OG Sr.The Kansas State offensive front is already good, and the guards are great, but Nelson is a 6-5, 325-pound All-Big Ten-caliber blaster who could take the line to a whole other level. This could be an NFL showcase season if everything works like it's supposed to.Top Transfer Out: Carver Willis, OT Sr.Kansas State won the transfer portal game in a huge way. It didn't lose any true killers, and the net incoming talent blows away the departures. It's still not a good thing to lose a tackle as good as the 6-5, 291-pound Willis, who's off to work on the outside of the Ole Miss line.
Kansas State Wildcats Key Game
Iowa State, Aug. 23 (in Dublin)Kansas State has lost the last two regular-season finales against Iowa State, and this time around, the matchup kicks things off. It's the first game of the college football season, and it really, really matters. In the dead even Big 12 from top to almost bottom, the loser of this is in huge trouble before things get going.- 2025 Kansas State Schedule Breakdown

Kansas State Wildcats 2025 Season Prediction, Win Total, What Will Happen
Yes, the Big 12 is loaded with improved teams. But Kansas State improving takes the program from very good to College Football Playoff great. It's a deeper bunch this year, the talent is there on both sides of the ball, and there should be more consistency and explosion.Even so, yeah, again, the Big 12 is going to be an any-given-week thing. There's no Arizona State, BYU, or Houston to face - those were three of the four losses last season. But going to Oklahoma State will be harder than it would've been last season. Kansas is better. Texas Tech is way better. Going to Arizona is difficult. But the Wildcats should be good enough to win their share of 50/50 games to overcome a few losses that are sure to come.
The road trip to Utah late in the campaign will be huge for the conference race, but if the Wildcats beat Iowa State to start the season, they should be in the Big 12 title hunt deep into November.Set The Kansas State Win Total At … 8.5Likely Wins: Army, North Dakota50/50 Games: at Arizona, at Baylor, Colorado, at Kansas, Iowa State (Dublin), at Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas Tech, UCF, at UtahLikely Losses: No projected sure-thing losses 2025 Kansas State PreviewKansas State Offense BreakdownKansas State Defense Breakdown

Spurs Think 'Price is Too High' for Kevin Durant Trade: Report

Spurs Think 'Price is Too High' for Kevin Durant Trade: Report originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The fate of Kevin Durant has been the subject of plenty of discourse already in 2025, and the offseason hasn't even fully kicked off just yet. Advertisement The 15-time All-Star and two-time Finals MVP, 36, appears to be looking for an exit away from the Phoenix Suns sooner rather than later. Under the stewardship of new general manager Brian Gregory and new head coach Jordan Ott, Phoenix appears very open to accommodating a Durant departure. Last year, the Suns went 36-46 and missed even the play-in tournament in the Western Conference. Despite Durant and fellow All-Star Devin Booker being largely healthy, their union with former three-time All-Star guard Bradley Beal has been decidedly rockier than anticipated. With Ott in the fold, Phoenix is already now on its fourth head coach in as many years under new owner Mat Ishbia. San Antonio Spurs center Victor Wembanyama (1) and Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant (35).Mark J. Rebilas-Imagn Images Durant has been linked with the Houston Rockets, San Antonio Spurs, Minnesota Timberwolves, Miami Heat, New York Knicks, Toronto Raptors, and L.A. Clippers as potential trade destinations. Advertisement In a new episode of his must-listen podcast "The Zach Lowe Show," The Ringer's Zach Lowe spoke with colleague Kirk Goldsberry about why the Spurs, for one, appear to be uninterested in making a deal for Durant: the asking price. "I know our friends in San Antonio think the price is too high," Goldsberry said. "The original discussions including the No. 2 pick and/or Stephon Castle are not going very well, I can tell you that." Guard Castle was recently honored as the Rookie of the Year for his efforts in 2024-25. A pairing of Durant — even if he's no longer in his athletic prime and not the defensive force he once was — and young All-Star Spurs center Victor Wembanyama in the frontcourt could be uniquely lethal in the Western Conference. Advertisement But San Antonio appears to be too intrigued by the top prospects in this year's NBA Draft (Rutgers guard Dylan Harper is projected to be the No. 2 pick, but his teammate Ace Bailey, Baylor wing V.J. Edgecomb, and Texas guard Tre Johnson are considered the other top contenders) to give up that pick for Durant. Still, until a deal happens, negotiations may not be over. The Spurs do have the No. 14 pick in this year's draft lottery, too, as well as plenty of other intriguing young players like guard Devin Vassell, wing Keldon Johnson and forward Jeremy Sochan. Raptors Possible Trade Framework for Kevin Durant Revealed

Raptors Possible Trade Framework for Kevin Durant Revealed originally appeared on Athlon Sports. 15-time All-Star Phoenix Suns power forward Kevin Durant appears to be all set to jet out of town. It's a move that will please both sides, as the Suns reportedly got pretty close to reuniting the 6-foot-11 big man with the Golden State Warriors at this year's trade deadline, before discovering that Durant himself was against a reunion with fellow future Hall of Famers Stephen Curry and Draymond Green, along with head coach Steve Kerr. Advertisement Durant infamously ditched the Oklahoma City Thunder to ink a three-year, maximum-salaried free agent deal with Golden State in 2016, and instantly went on to appear in three consecutive NBA Finals, winning twice in 2017 and '18. Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant gestures to the referee for a foul call against the Toronto Raptors at Scotiabank Hamilton-Imagn Images He departed as a free agent in 2019, joining the Brooklyn Nets. Durant forced a trade out of town midway through the 2022-23 season. Now, he appears to have grown tired of his NBA environment for the fourth straight time. Across 62 healthy contests for the 36-46 Suns, the 11-time All-NBA honoree averaged a still-great 26.6 points while slashing .527/.430/.839, 6.0 boards, 4.2 dimes, 1.2 blocks and 0.8 steals a night. Advertisement The team that beat Durant's Warriors in the 2019 NBA Finals is apparently willing to sacrifice plenty in a potential deal. Grant Afseth of writes that the Toronto Raptors — who are reportedly not among his preferred landing spots — have several assets they would be open to trading. "Kevin Durant is expected to be traded before the 2025 NBA Draft, and league sources tell RG the Toronto Raptors are among the teams seriously evaluating a deal, despite not being on Durant's preferred destination list," Afseth writes. The 2025 NBA Draft tips off on June 25. The second round will be selected the next day. Advertisement "It's a familiar dynamic for Toronto, which took a similar approach in 2018 by acquiring Kawhi Leonard and capitalizing on a one-year window to win an NBA championship," Afseth notes. Durant will be on a one-year, $54.7 million expiring deal for 2025-26. 'League sources say the Raptors have explored a range of trade concepts that could involve a framework including any combination of RJ Barrett, Immanuel Quickley, Jakob Poeltl and the No. 9 overall pick," Afseth adds. "While nothing appears imminent, there is internal openness to parting with one of Barrett or Quickley in a larger package, and Poeltl could be included depending on the structure.'
