While Glasgow will glow in 24C on Friday, Tenerife will struggle with just 19C and cloud.
By Sunday, when the popular Spanish resort is down to just 18C and rain, Scotland's biggest city will shimmer under a sunny 22C.
A Scots brewer reckons it's time the country's workers were dispatched to the beer garden if, as looks likely, the mercury goes above 20C tomorrow.
Beer specialists Innis & Gunn have launched the '3PM Pledge' – a sunshine-soaked initiative urging employers to let their hard-grafting teams down tools at 3pm tomorrow, crack open a cold one, and soak up Scotland's rarest natural wonder – the sun.
And to sweeten the deal, the Edinburgh-based brewers are offering a share of 500 free beers to the first 20 firms who promise to get involved.
Dougal Sharp, Innis & Gunn's master brewer, said: 'Let's face it – when the sun shines in Scotland, it's like one of life's miracles. Nobody wants to be stuck at their desk while the rest of the country basks in the beer garden.
'When the sun comes out it's like the World Cup Final for pubs and people alike – and we want companies to back it. The 3PM Pledge is all about spontaneity, sunshine and celebrating life's little wins.
'Obviously, not every job can just down tools, but where it's possible, we're encouraging businesses to let their hardworking teams take a breather.
'If the work can be done at any time, why not save it for later and let people enjoy the sunshine?'
As we approach the end of spring, UV levels are now officially described as 'high' which means people exposed to the sun without protection will burn within minutes.
Brit hols hotspot Majorca beaches turned white with ice deluged by rain & hail leaving… and MORE bad weather on way
Today, Scotland missed out on an official 'heatwave' as the mercury failed to hit 25C for the third day in a row.
However, it was still a pleasant 22C at Achnagart in the sunny west Highlands yesterday.
With a scorching weekend ahead for some, the Met Office said the east of the country may struggle with significantly lower temperatures than the west.
As far as tomorrow is concerned, forecaster Alex Deakin said: "For the vast majority, it is a day of sparkling spring sunshine.
"Temperatures, though, perhaps not quite as high across the south.
"I think the West of Scotland may see the highest temperatures on Thursday.
"22C or maybe a 23C. Again, the east coast, particularly if it does stay murky, temperatures could struggle.
"There will be quite a contrast between east and west.
"That will continue to be a trend in the weather, even into the weekend."

At least 3 dead and thousands evacuated as wildfires rage across southern Europe

The Spanish capital and other parts of Europe are battling dangerous conditions and fires, as ITV News' Lora Jones reports At least three people have been killed as wildfires continue to burn across southern Europe. Outside the Greek port city of Patras, firefighters struggled to protect homes and agricultural facilities as flames tore through olive groves. Firefighting resources were stretched thin in many affected countries as they battled multiple outbreaks following weeks of heat waves and temperature spikes across Mediterranean Europe. Fires blazed on the Greek mainland, the Patras area and on the island of Zakynthos. Greece also sent assistance to neighbouring Albania, joining an international effort to combat dozens of wildfires. An 80-year-old man died in a blaze south of the capital, Tirana, officials said on Wednesday. Residents of four villages were evacuated in central Albania near a former army ammunition depot. In the southern Korca district, near the Greek border, explosions were reported from buried Second World War-era artillery shells. A firefighting volunteer in the hard-hit Castile and León region north of Madrid, where thousands have been displaced by evacuations, died fighting the blaze. The government raised its national emergency response level, preparing additional support for regional authorities overseeing multiple evacuations and highway closures. A forestry worker was also killed on Wednesday while responding to a wildfire in southern Turkey, officials said. The Forestry Ministry said the worker died in an accident involving a fire engine that left four others injured. Turkey has been battling severe wildfires since late June. A total of 18 people have been killed, including 10 rescue volunteers and forestry workers who died in July. Scientists have warned that climate change is exacerbating the frequency and intensity of heat and dryness across the South of Europe. The continent is warming up faster than any other in the world. Temperatures have increased at twice the speed of the global average since the 1980s, according to the European Union's Copernicus Climate Change Services. Last year was the hottest on record, both globally and in Europe, according to the monitoring agency.
