While Glasgow will glow in 24C on Friday, Tenerife will struggle with just 19C and cloud.
By Sunday, when the popular Spanish resort is down to just 18C and rain, Scotland's biggest city will shimmer under a sunny 22C.
A Scots brewer reckons it's time the country's workers were dispatched to the beer garden if, as looks likely, the mercury goes above 20C tomorrow.
Beer specialists Innis & Gunn have launched the '3PM Pledge' – a sunshine-soaked initiative urging employers to let their hard-grafting teams down tools at 3pm tomorrow, crack open a cold one, and soak up Scotland's rarest natural wonder – the sun.
And to sweeten the deal, the Edinburgh-based brewers are offering a share of 500 free beers to the first 20 firms who promise to get involved.
Dougal Sharp, Innis & Gunn's master brewer, said: 'Let's face it – when the sun shines in Scotland, it's like one of life's miracles. Nobody wants to be stuck at their desk while the rest of the country basks in the beer garden.
'When the sun comes out it's like the World Cup Final for pubs and people alike – and we want companies to back it. The 3PM Pledge is all about spontaneity, sunshine and celebrating life's little wins.
'Obviously, not every job can just down tools, but where it's possible, we're encouraging businesses to let their hardworking teams take a breather.
'If the work can be done at any time, why not save it for later and let people enjoy the sunshine?'
As we approach the end of spring, UV levels are now officially described as 'high' which means people exposed to the sun without protection will burn within minutes.
Brit hols hotspot Majorca beaches turned white with ice deluged by rain & hail leaving… and MORE bad weather on way
Today, Scotland missed out on an official 'heatwave' as the mercury failed to hit 25C for the third day in a row.
However, it was still a pleasant 22C at Achnagart in the sunny west Highlands yesterday.
With a scorching weekend ahead for some, the Met Office said the east of the country may struggle with significantly lower temperatures than the west.
As far as tomorrow is concerned, forecaster Alex Deakin said: "For the vast majority, it is a day of sparkling spring sunshine.
"Temperatures, though, perhaps not quite as high across the south.
"I think the West of Scotland may see the highest temperatures on Thursday.
"22C or maybe a 23C. Again, the east coast, particularly if it does stay murky, temperatures could struggle.
"There will be quite a contrast between east and west.
"That will continue to be a trend in the weather, even into the weekend."

Terrifying moment car dangles precariously over sheer cliff drop sparking frantic mission to save occupants inside
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) THIS is the terrifying moment a car was found dangling over a cliff edge, sparking a nerve-shredding rescue mission. The white SUV was spotted teetering over the cliff by passersby, with its occupants moments away from a near-perilous fall. It was left dangling precariously with its rear left wheel elevated off the ground. A group of Good Samaritans found it in the precarious spot and pulled over to help. The SUV's driver was found apparently unable to reverse the car onto the icy roadside or get out of the vehicle safely. A woman, named only as Ms Deng by local media, filmed the rescue effort as she and her friends stopped to help. They had been on a trip to a lake as they drove up the mountain - and pulled over when they spotted the dangling car. The video begins with a look at just how fraught the situation is as the passersby approach the trapped vehicle. They begin to try and heave the car back to safety as more and more motorists park nearby to lend a hand. In a heart-stopping moment, one of the rescue party removes a suitcase from the back of the car - risking shifting more weight onto the car's front tyres. A rumble of thunder can be heard as the rescue mission becomes increasingly tense. Shock vid shows half-frozen paraglider who was sucked 5 MILES into sky by vortex & left shivering in -40C conditions But at least six men lend their strength to helping keep the car on the ledge, gradually pulling it back to safety. Eventually, they manage to heave the SUV further back from the brink. The rescuers then tie a rope onto the back of the car to properly drag it back to firm ground. According to reports, the two unnamed people inside the vehicle were unharmed in the bone-chilling ordeal. Authorities have warned motorists to be aware of weather conditions and to maintain a safe distance when driving, News X has reported. They also urge road users to park properly on the viewing platforms. The Duku Highway sits on what was historically known as the Silk Road. It is as well known for its stunning views and landscapes as it is for its dangerous driving conditions. Back in 2021, another car rolled off a cliff edge on the same highway. While several family members were able to leap out of the car in time, but one woman inside was unable to escape in time. She survived the fall, but suffered severe hip injuries. 5 Authorities have warned motorists to be aware of weather conditions Credit: AsiaWire/NX pix

Talking points as England continue World Cup qualifying campaign against Andorra
Here, the PA news agency takes a look at the talking points ahead of the game. Destination USA Thomas Tuchel visited the Spanish Grand Prix at the weekend but is taking this match seriously (Bradley Collyer/PA) Victories over Albania and Latvia in Thomas Tuchel's first two games in charge in March set England on the right path to North America next summer and they currently top Group K after two games, though their biggest rivals Serbia are yet to kick-off their campaign. However, a victory over the minnows in Barcelona will put Tuchel's men one step closer to the World Cup ahead of September's toughest game of the group in Serbia. The German is not taking the game lightly, naming his strongest possible squad, including players who are going to the Club World Cup later this month. Brothers in arms Trevoh Chalobah earned his maiden call-up to the senior squad after an impressive season for Chelsea and he has his sights on history. If he is able to get on the pitch against Andorra – or Senegal in next Tuesday's friendly – he will follow in his brother Nathaniel's shoes by representing England, making the Chalobahs the 21st set of brothers to play for England. Only two of them have been post-war, Bobby and Jack Charlton and Phil and Gary Neville, while Trevoh will be hoping his international career lasts longer than the six minutes 54 seconds Nathaniel managed in his one and only appearance in 2018. The heat is on England are already preparing for the extreme temperatures they are expected to face in next summer's World Cup and they have spent the week training in the 27-degree heat of Spain rather than at St George's Park. The players have been doing acclimitisation testing this week, consisting of cycling in sauna-like temperatures, and taking scientific tests on their core body temperature and reaction to heat. They will get some in-game experience of it against Andorra as well, with temperatures expected to be in the mid-20s when the match kicks off on Saturday tea-time. Ivan the great Most people thought Ivan Toney had sacrificed his England career when he made a money-spinning move to Saudia Arabia last summer, but Thomas Tuchel has brought him back into the squad. The striker scored 23 goals in 30 Saudi Pro League appearances for Al-Ahli, helping the side to win the AFC Champions League Elite competition. With Ollie Watkins also back in the squad after injury, captain Harry Kane has some competition in attack. Down Andorra out? England won 5-0 against Andorra last time they met (Nick Potts/PA) This match is not a question of whether England will win, but how many goals will they score. Andorra are well down the FIFA rankings, in 173rd and below Papa New Guinea and St Vincent and the Grenadines, and have only ever won four World Cup qualifiers – two of them against San Marino. England have a healthy record against them, winning all of their six previous meetings to an aggregate of 25-0 and should strengthen that.
