Good Morning Britain halted for breaking news as viewers left outraged
While Ed Balls and Charlotte Hawkins were presenting as they stepped in for regular host Susanna Reid, reporter Marverine Cole took over to announce the breaking news.
Marverine stated: "In breaking news, a police officer is among four people killed in a shooting in a skyscraper in New York City."
"The gunman was armed with an assault rifle and carried out the attack in broad daylight before turning the gun on himself inside the building,' she explained before turning to Noel via video link.
Noel went on to explain that the gunman was a 27-year-old-male, named Shane Tamura, before going on to say that he had driven over 2,000 miles across America, from Nevada to New York City, to carry out a "brazen and deadly attack".
As he continued, Noel clarified: "He walked inside that building and first attacked an off-duty police officer who was working as a security guard."
"We also understand the shooter then made his way towards the elevator, where he shot two more civilians, before then travelling to the 33rd floor where he killed a woman, before later turning the gun on himself," he stated.
Noel went on to say that the investigators are still in the "early stages" of determining the gunman's motive, with New York Police Department Commissioner Jessica Tisch revealing the shooter had a "documented mental health history," the Express reports.
In the press conference, the NYPD Commissioner confirmed that one of the people killed was a police officer, whose wife was pregnant with their third child.
In a tribute she said: "He was doing the job that we asked him to do. He made the ultimate sacrifice. He died as he lived - a hero."
However, GMB viewers were furious by the coverage as they took to social media all saying the same thing as some noted that the news programme hadn't yet mentioned a deadly attack going on closer to home in London.
One furious fan expressed: "Nothing about the lone attacker yesterday in London? 4 stabbed, 2 of them dead? Arguably it's a more deadly attack, considering the NY incident was carried out using an assault rifle.'
Someone else echoed this statement, writing: 'Why aren't you reporting the four stabbed yesterday in London???' While a third viewer fumed: 'Why are you reporting on what is an every day occurrence in America? Focus on the violence at home."

GB News host forced to apologise to viewers after show 'falls off air' for 13 minutes
GB News presenters Anne Diamond and Stephen Dixon were left red-faced after the show was hauled off air before the pair were even able to say their goodbyes GB News presenter Anne Diamond was forced to issue an apology to viewers following a major technical mishap on the programme. The duo were discussing the government 's fresh proposals to impose prison sentences on anyone caught facilitating migrant crossings during Sunday's show. The hosts started reading viewer feedback about the new measures, with one comment stating: "The moment anybody gets five years for selling illegal documents to immigrants, I will eat my hat." Anne, 70, who was presenting alongside Stephen Dixon, quipped that they would be ready to witness this before the broadcast suddenly went dark. Whilst the news ticker kept rolling across the bottom of the screen, the presenters had vanished, reports the Express. A compilation reel started playing, featuring a segment with Cameron Walker discussing Queen Elizabeth's memorial at St James' Park from June. This was followed by Eamonn Holmes and Ellie Costello's chat with British expat David Mason, who sustained serious injuries when a missile struck approximately 25ft from him in Haifa, Israel in June. Previous GB News programme clips kept running for roughly 13 minutes before Stephen and Anne eventually reappeared. Anne admitted they were clueless about what triggered the technical fault but acknowledged they "fell off air". Stephen, 51, remarked: "It's technology which has just gone slightly potty." Anne added: "I don't think, as many people have been saying, it's a political conspiracy but we'll keep an eye on that just in case." The hosts managed to keep themselves entertained during the technical glitches, with Anne revealing that Stephen and Aman Bhogal had been chatting about a variety of subjects. "You ought to hear what they've been talking about - mobile phones and the very latest technologies, whether if something folds twice is enough or whether something folds three times," she joked. Acknowledging that their usual conversation revolves around politics, Stephen confessed he relished getting to know his co-host on a different level. "It's been really interesting to get to know you on a different plane of existence," Stephen expressed. "I like you all the more." Anne extended an apology to viewers for the technical mishap, stating: "If you have been kicking your television and wondering what the heck is going on, we do apologise. For some reason we fell off air and we don't know why."

British passenger's lewd behaviour forced my flight to turn around
As witnessed by writer Esther Krakue, a British passenger was removed from an aircraft at New York's JFK airport after reportedly engaging in lewd behaviour and causing the flight to be delayed by several hours When a pilot calmly announces that you're turning back to your origin airport, there are only a handful of reasons you expect to hear: a small technical issue, a medical emergency, maybe even a security threat. What you don't expect is what really happened on my flight this week: a story that still feels too surreal to believe. About an hour into our journey, just as we were nearing the Canadian border, the captain came over the tannoy. "A small technical issue," he said, meant we needed to return to JFK so engineers could take a look. The flight attendants reassured us it wasn't dangerous, but my stomach dropped anyway. I pictured some vital system malfunctioning, engines cutting out mid-air, or the worst-case scenario- the plane plummeting from the sky. As we descended, other possibilities crossed my mind. It comes after a British man claimed 'I moved from UK to Benidorm – price of a pint and Full English left me floored'. Perhaps someone on board was gravely ill. Perhaps ambulances would be waiting when we landed, [as Esther Krakue previously wrote in the Express]. What I didn't expect to see were two police cars pulling up outside the aircraft. No engineers. No paramedics. Just flashing blue lights and a handful of serious-looking officers. Then the whispers started. A young man, apparently British (to my utter horror - because I was hoping to chalk this up to "one of those crazy Yanks" stories), had allegedly spent the flight engaging in behaviour so vile it left an entire cabin reeling. According to fellow travellers, he approached a complete stranger with the crude proposition, "Ever had a hand job on a plane?" and, following rejection, allegedly exposed himself and began openly pleasuring himself, even displaying explicit images of himself on his mobile and attempting to touch the passenger seated next to him. After considerable persuasion from the cabin crew, he eventually disembarked to meet the waiting police officers below. No handcuffs were involved, just a swift, subdued departure - but the harm had already been inflicted. The entire aircraft had been grounded for hours because one individual couldn't control his trousers or his urges properly. It would be reassuring to believe this was an exceptional incident, a singular act of degeneracy at 35,000 feet. However, it increasingly appears otherwise. Only last week, a pair grabbed headlines for engaging in sexual activity during a flight. Increasingly, public venues - trains, aircraft, even dining establishments - appear to suffer from individuals behaving in ways they wouldn't have contemplated a decade earlier. Indecency is shedding its embarrassment element, and the remainder of us are being compelled to observe it. Subsequently, we departed once more with fresh crew members, the aircraft itself remaining perfectly operational. On the other hand, it seems like humanity is on a downward spiral. No passenger should ever board a flight expecting to become an unwilling participant in a live-action, low-budget adult film. And no one should have to explain, with a weary and vacant expression, that their flight was delayed not by weather or mechanical failure, but by a fellow Brit treating economy class like a Pornhub livestream. If only I could say it was an American this time.

Roger Goodell emotional during first interview since NYC shooting
Goodell outlined feeling a sense of "tremendous loss" at the funeral, despite noting it was a "heartwarming service." "[He's] somebody that we see outside the building most every day when we come in," Goodell said of Islam. "And it hits home, the unnecessary and unexplainable loss. It's something that all of us as New Yorkers feel a great pride in the NYPD and the first responders. It was a difficult, emotional afternoon." Goodell also acknowledged it was difficult to grapple with the reality that the NFL was specifically targeted in the attack, and the pain it has brought to the league's employees. "It's a difficult thing, particularly when you're dealing with a senseless act like this," Goodell said. "There are no excuses for the senseless acts. They're hard for all of us to understand. When it inflicts pain on people you know and people you care about and people you deal with on a daily basis, that's particularly hard. "But as you know, these acts of senseless violence are happening in our country and around our world far too often. In churches, and schools and synagogues and other places that this should just not be happening. We all have to continue to be vigilant and continue to protect ourselves. The NFL is going to continue to do that with our employees and our people." Goodell also provided another positive update on the NFL employee injured in the shooting. The 66-year-old said he visited the victim in the hospital, who is "stable and improving," and got to speak to his family. But overall, Goodell's tone was reserved and somber as he addressed the mass shooting. "This is an attack on humanity," Goodell said. "This is an attack on our communities. This is an attack on New York. This is an attack on our way of life."
