Yara Sameh Veteran Egyptian actor Lotfy Labib has shared an update about his current health condition after being admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) after suffering a health scare. In a statement on Tuesday, Labib said that despite still being in intensive care, his condition is stable. "I am receiving the necessary medical care and will be discharged next Friday," he added. Labib thanked everyone who checked on him and supported him during the period, adding that he is satisfied with everything that has happened to him recently. He continued: "I have a swollen throat, but thank God, don't worry about me, and his voice has begun to improve." On Sunday, Labib was admitted to the intensive care (ICU) after suffering a health scare. He underwent the medical tests to determine the cause of his illness. Father Boutros Daniel, director of the Catholic Centre for Cinema in Egypt, has shared an update on the actor's health, explaining that he suffered a sudden health issue in the past hours that required his transfer to the hospital, where he is in the ICU and banned from receiving visitors. He added that Labib is attached to his fans, loves them, and appreciates them, and asked the actor's fans to pray for him. "The best thing they can do now is pray for his speedy recovery," Labib noted. Born on August 18, 1947, Labib is an Egyptian stage, television, and film actor. On March 29, Labib announced his retirement from acting due to his health condition. "In my current health condition, if I get a role, I won't be able to play it because I prefer that my image remains as it was to the fans," he said. He made his final onscreen appearance in the 2024 film ' Ana W Ibn Khalti ' ("Me and My Cousin"). PM witnesses launch of 1st water ambulance in Alexandria
Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly on Monday, July 14th, 2025, witnessed the launch of the first water ambulance in Alexandria governorate. The launching ceremony of the boat came at a time when the premier was inspecting the sites of a number of finalized and underway service and development projects in the coastal governorate. Chairperson of the Egyptian Ambulance Authority Amr Rashid told the Prime Minister that the ambulance boat was fully built and manufactured in Egypt. The vessel meets both medical and maritime standards and is designed to serve beachgoers, visitors to ports and marinas, and yacht tourism, Rashid said. It will also enhance the country's ability to respond to emergencies aboard passenger and commercial vessels operating in Egyptian territorial waters, as well as offshore oil platforms, Rashid added. Rashid stated the boat is 13 meters long and four meters wide and has the capacity to transport four sick or injured people, along with the ambulance and navigation crew at a time. The ambulance boat is equipped with three engines with a speed of 35 knots and various modern navigation and marine safety devices, as well as medical equipment necessary for emergency rescue operations, Rashid noted.
