This includes chocolate tasting, film screenings, storytelling sessions, cooking demonstrations and outdoor activities. There will be activities for both children and adults, and most will be free. Award-winning Powys chocolatiers celebrate sweet 10th anniversary in style Businesses across the town are getting involved by creating special dishes, window displays and even chocolate-themed cocktails. The day also includes a hot chocolate pop-up which will be held in one of the central cafes in town. Meredith Whitely is the Llanidloes -based creator of the Calm Cocoa mindful hot chocolate range and member of the Llanidloes Chamber of Trade which is organising the inaugural festival. She loves using chocolate as a tool to help people live more mindfully and to bring people together. Meredith said: "The Chocolate Festival will be a fun and delicious day that celebrates the many fascinating parts of chocolate and cacao, as well as the lovely community of Llanidloes." Sneak peek of new Clydebank bowling alley with £10k of bookings
Tenpin is set to open in the Clyde Shopping Centre at 10am on Friday, August 15, and customers have already been spotted trying to get into the site. The location is set to offer 18 bowling lanes, arcade machines, darts, pool and karaoke rooms, and it appears bankies are already eager to try it out. Ahead of the official opening, the Glasgow Times were invited down to share a sneak peek of the venue. (Image: Newsquest) Angie Revell, 25, Tenpin Clydebank Manager, says she can't wait to welcome residents. She said: "I'm really excited, but I'm also more nervous than anything I've ever done before. "We've had a lot of interest, and even now, there are people standing at the door. Everyone in Clydebank has been so lovely. "We have hired a team of about 35, and it's all local people, which is quite good. "Hopefully, we aim to do another set of hiring, probably around October, in time for the Christmas period." (Image: Newsquest) (Image: Newsquest) (Image: Newsquest) News of the new entertainment venue has evidently reached the town, as the business has already received thousands of pounds worth of bookings. Pre-booking, which is already being offered by the venue for this month and next, has found itself inundated with eager customers. Angie continued: "We have had £10,000 worth of pre-bookings, that's crazy, isn't it? "I only set the time frame from last month through September, so within that time period, we've got £10,000 worth. "It is definitely in high demand. "I think we'll get a lot of people walking in rather than pre-booking, so we will wait to see how that goes to begin with. "We've got a couple of birthday parties booked, they're only on Saturdays and Sundays, but we do have some. "It's not just bowling, we have the pool, karaoke, arcades, and it's at a cheaper rate, so it's definitely worth popping in and having a wee look around." Tenpin Clydebank is located at Units 13-17 of the Clyde Shopping Centre, which were most recently the St Margaret's Hospice Shop and before then the old Argos store.

Scotch whisky society poised to open franchise in India
The move marks a further step in the Society's ongoing expansion into Asia, and follows the recent opening of franchises in Vietnam, South Korea and Taiwan. Those joined its more established outlets in Japan and Taiwan. The latest franchise comes after the formal signing of the new free-trade deal between the UK and India, which the Scotch whisky industry hopes will lead to a major breakthrough in exports to the south Asian economic powerhouse through the lowering of tariffs. Artisanal said in a statement to the stock market that, subject to label registration being completed, it expects to dispatch its first shipment to India in the coming months. The company noted that India is the largest global market for Scotch whisky by volume. Read more: 'Whilst entry into the market is expected to deliver marginal returns initially, we believe the long-term opportunity from brand presence and strategy execution, alongside our experienced and well-connected franchise partner, is an important area of future growth for the business as the Indian whisky market further develops,' Artisanal said. Meanwhile, the company said its US-based Single Cask Nation business, which was acquired to allow the Society to introduce an American whiskey offer to its members, has commenced its first exports to Brazil. Artisanal said Brazil is the world's 15th largest market for ultra-premium whisky, with sales having doubled in the last five years and now representing a market worth $158 million. Andrew Dane, chief executive of the Artisanal Spirits Company, said: 'We are continuing to build the SMWS business for the medium to longer term, growing our global presence with entry into exciting new markets such as India, as well as developing new opportunities for SCN, as we expand our whisky fan club globally. 'The Indian market, in particular, presents exciting potential for the group over the medium to longer term and we are delighted to welcome our new franchise partners, PNM Tech Beverages, to the wider SMWS family. We remain confident that the actions we are taking stand us in good stead to continue to deliver future growth.'
