Forward Foster could still play a part for Burnley

BBC News10-04-2025

Burnley are not ruling out Lyle Foster for the Championship run-in despite the striker suffering a shoulder injury in Tuesday's goalless draw at Derby. The 24-year-old had only been on the field as a substitute for six minutes of the second half at Pride Park when he had to go off and be replaced by Hannibal Mejbri."It's not looking too good for Lyle," Clarets boss Scott Parker told a news conference before Friday's Championship match with Norwich City (20:00 BST)"We are looking for a second opinion, thankfully it's not as bad as we feared. He hasn't dislocated it but there is still hope that he could play again this season."Foster has scored two league goals in 17 starts this season having cost the Clarets £11m when joining from Belgian club Westerlo in January 2023.

The Jambos have already unveiled their new home jersey and action gets underway again next month in the Premier Sports Cup group stages. Their new away number has been released ahead of those matches, with players due back in for pre season later this month, a white base with pinstripes and the traditional Hearts crest. Prices are £47 for a junior jersey and the adult versions costs £60, with the club explaining in detail more about the shirt. Hearts away kit launched They said: 'Heart of Midlothian Football Club is delighted to unveil the new 25.26 hummel away kit. On sale now both online at Hearts Direct and in-store at the Hearts Clubstore, the away kit provides an elegant contrast to the new home kit, which was released two weeks ago. 'Salient in white, the away shirt incorporates maroon pinstripes down its front. Each pinstripe features patterns of the Hearts crest, which adorns the seats in the stands of Tynecastle Park, so wherever fans go, Tynecastle is always with them. Complimenting the shirt are the iconic hummel chevrons, the bumblebee logo, front of shirt partners Stellar Omada and the Hearts crest, all in maroon. 'With maroon shorts and white socks completing the kit, players and supporters will carry the spirit of Gorgie whenever they travel on the road. Made from ECO8 technology, the shirt is manufactured from high-performing polyester produced from up to eight recycled plastic bottles. Fans can view the complete away kit, as well as the full range of 25.26 training and travel wear, by clicking here.' An approach has been made to sign Australian winger Daniel Arzani

Rangers star Robin Propper considering shock U-TURN over his Ibrox future

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) ROBIN PROPPER has stalled on his move back to Twente Enschede and will hold talks with new boss Russell Martin to find out if he has a future at Rangers. The Dutch defender had an indifferent first season at Ibrox and was subject of plenty of criticism, although he still played 43 games in all competitions last season for Rangers. However, Twente Enschede's new sports director, Jan Streuer, has revealed Propper has not decided whether to try and play his way into boss Martin's plans yet. He said: "We have to wait and see with him. "Robin wants to hear from his club on what they're going to do. "I understand that there are new owners, a new technical director, a new manager and new coaches. "They always have new ideas and they also bring their own players with them. "The question is what all this means for Robin. "But he's welcome back here." Rangers-daft Stuart Dallas, meanwhile, has told 49ers Enterprises powerbroker Paraag Marathe that leading Leeds to success will be nothing compared to restoring Rangers to glory. Marathe was appointed Gers vice-chairman after his 49ers Enterprises were part of the club's US takeover. £6m Rangers star Danilo spotted doing gruelling sessions on beach in Brazil as he gears up for make or break pre-season Their running of the Elland Road side saw them land promotion back to the Premier League after being crowned Championship champs. Leeds legend Dallas - forced to retire through injury last year - is a boyhood Gers fan so knows just how much it would mean for the Ibrox side to start lifting silverware again. Dallas, 34, said: 'Obviously Rangers are built on success. They have to get back to winning trophies and they don't settle for second best. 'I've said to Paraag before that if you get it right at Rangers you'll never experience anything like it." Keep up to date with ALL the latest news and transfers at the Scottish Sun football page

World Cup of Darts team-mates ignored each other on stage as feud escalated

Dimitri Van den Bergh and Kim Huybrechts formed one of the most explosive partnerships in World Cup of Darts history, but they won't play together at the 2025 event One of the most infamous pairings in World Cup of Darts history has been broken up. For the first time at the event, which is underway in Frankfurt, Belgian No.1 Dimitri Van den Bergh and World Grand Prix champion Mike De Decker have teamed up for their country as they bid to topple overwhelming favourites, Luke Littler and Luke Humphries of England. At the last two tournaments, Van den Bergh has been paired with Kim Huybrechts, with dramatic and hilarious consequences. Prior to the start of the 2023 event, unbeknownst to most observers, the pair had had a spectacular falling out and were not on speaking terms. ‌ And they made no secret of their animosity towards each other during their opening match, a 4-0 win against Finland. The pair couldn't even bring themselves to look at each other during the tie. ‌ At the end of the game, there was no handshake or hug. Instead, as Van den Bergh danced around the stage in customary fashion, Huybrechts made a hasty exit. Realising they had embarrassed themselves and Belgian darts, the pair released a statement, vowing to put on a more united front in their next matches. The statement said: 'Following last night's win at the My Diesel Claim World Cup of Darts, we have sat down to discuss our recent differences. 'Whilst some issues remain to be resolved in the fullness of time, we are both fully committed to doing our best as a team to win the World Cup of Darts for Belgium, and to represent ourselves, our families and our country in the best light. That begins with tonight's game against China, and our focus is now on preparing for that match as a team." Amid speculation over the root of their feud, there were claims it stemmed from Van den Bergh making a complaint to the PDC about Huybrechts. The pair did indeed manage to put their differences aside for the rest of the tournament. Having given each other the cold shoulder, the pair looked like bosom buddies in their following matches. High-fives and hugs were suddenly the order of the day, much to the amusement of watching fans. Their newfound camaraderie threatened to take them all the way, but eventual champions Wales ended their dramatic run at the semi-final stage. However, that run failed to bring them closer together and on the eve of last year's tournament, Van den Bergh revealed that he and Huybrechts were still at odds. ‌ He told Sky Sports: 'I wasn't interested in anything of that. Everybody needs to know that me and Kim are not best friends, and that's period.' As a result, speculation was rife over how they could co-exist at the 2024 event. Speaking after their group stage win over Singapore, Van den Bergh attempted to play down their rift, saying: 'We're here for Belgium. We have learned a lot from last year. We haven't showed the best in the first game last year and this year we're in the position to say we've got to grow up, we've got to be adults. ‌ 'We've got a whole load of pressure on ourselves. What is that, our national colours. That means so much more to us as a person and in that case that means even more to us as a country. That's what we're doing and need to be doing, and that's being professional.' The pair made it through to the last four again, only to suffer a heavy defeat to Austria in what could be the last time they join forces following the emergence of De Decker, who is now Belgium's top-ranked player, just ahead of Van den Bergh, while Huybrechts has tumbled down the rankings. This year, fifth seeds Belgium are in Group B with Latvia and the Philippines. The winners of each group advance to the second round, where the top four seeds, England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, enter the competition.
