Major Potential 'WWE SmackDown' Spoiler on Absent Superstar
There might be a big spoiler ahead of Friday's episode of "WWE SmackDown."
WWE is set for a loaded edition of the blue brand. The likes of Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena will appear. There will also be fatal four-way qualifiers for the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments.

In addition to what's already been announced for "SmackDown," there may be a surprise return. Fightful reports that Kiana James is on location in Lexington ahead of Friday's show. It was noted that while James was brought in by WWE, it's unknown if she will be a part of the show.

James hasn't been inside the ring since the June 17, 2024 episode of "WWE Raw." She participated in an MITB qualifying match against Iyo Sky and Zelina Vega. Sky won the match, but the outcome wasn't the talking point. That's because James suffered a leg injury and was put on the inactive list while she was recovering.
Several outlets have reported that WWE officials are high on James. It was said that James impressed those backstage with her brief time on the red brand before her injury. The belief internally is that James has high upside.

The "SmackDown" brand has been loading up on some fresh talent, such as former international and "NXT" star Giulia. It's also been reported that former TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace is expected to join the blue brand at some point. If James ends up making "SmackDown" her home, it would give the show's women's division even more of a boost.

Then, he installed himself as president and general manager — an unheard of move in the NFL — riling even more of the team's supporters. But none of his decisions in the early days of owning America's Team had prepared him for the extreme criticism from Cowboys Nation. 'I was Darth Vader,' Jones, 82, recalls in the new Netflix docuseries America's Team: The Gambler and His Cowboys. Jones told Arkansas state lawmakers at the time that he had received multiple death threats. 'They're serious about their football in the state of Texas, almost as much as we are in Arkansas,' he says in the doc. After Landry's firing, more than 100,000 people turned out for a parade through the streets of downtown Dallas to honor the Cowboys coach of 29 years. 'Jerry and the Jones family had broken into the museum and taken our most valuable possession,' former ABC affiliate WFAA-TV sportscaster Dale Hansen says in the doc, describing the affection fans had for the former coach. Looking back, even Jones confesses it may have been a rash decision to fire Landry — whose team notched a 3-13 record during his final season in 1988. 'The firing of Coach Landry was certainly one of the great PR missteps, maybe of all time,' Jones says. 'Because I still wear that.' At a press conference later termed the Saturday Night Massacre — a reference to the Watergate scandal — Jones announced his intentions with the team. Yoel Romero gets date, opponent for BKFC debut
Yoel Romero has inked his bareknuckle boxing debut. The former UFC title challenger is set to make his first appearance for BKFC against Theo Doukas at BKFC 80 on Sept. 12 at Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood, Fla. The bout will be contested at heavyweight. The news of Romero's debut was announced by the promotion on Tuesday. Romero, 48, signed with BKFC in July. He was coming off two KO finishes competing in Mike Perry's Dirty Boxing Championship – which is a striking competition with small gloves but doesn't involve any grappling or groundwork. "The Soldier of God" is mainly known for his 10-year run in the UFC where he fought for the middleweight title multiple times and cemented himself as one of the world's best. After his UFC departure, Romero had a short stint with Bellator and PFL, going 3-2. Although now competing in bareknuckle boxing, Romero told MMA Junkie last month that he's still looking to continue his MMA career. Romero's opponent, Doukas, will also be making his BKFC debut. Doukas has competed four times in MMA, going 2-2. His two victories have come by way of stoppage. He last competed in MMA in April 2024 and was submitted in the second round. He's also 1-0 in boxing.
