New Delhi, July 22 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished former Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar good health and said Mr Dhankhar had got many opportunities to serve the country in various capacities, including as the Vice President of India.
The Prime Minister posted on X 'Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar Ji has got many opportunities to serve our country in various capacities, including as the Vice President of India. Wishing him good health.''
Mr Dhankhar in a surprise move resigned as Vice President yesterday citing health reasons.
His term as Vice President was scheduled to end in August 2027.
Mr Dhankhar, announcing his resignation wrote to President Draupadi Murmu "To prioritise health care and abide by medical advice, I hereby resign as the Vice President of India, effective immediately, in accordance with Article 67(a) of the Constitution. I extend my deepest gratitude to Your Excellency, the Honourable President of India for her unwavering support and the soothing, wonderful working relationship we maintained during my tenure."

The state capital has received a corpus of ₹10,732 crore for developing the AI ecosystem under the IndiaAI Mission approved in March 2024. The move comes at a time when plans are afoot to develop Lucknow as the country's first AI City. According to the state government, this investment is 67% higher than any other technology infrastructure in the country. The proposed investment is meant for 10,000 Graphics Processing Units, multi-modal language models and an AI innovation center. The state government will soon come up with the draft AI policy in line with Vision 2047. According to the state government, this investment is 67% higher than any other technology infrastructure in the country. Apart from this, a high-tech AI-based traffic management system is being proposed for Lucknow. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's constituency, Varanasi, is already in the process of implementing an AI-enabled smart traffic system. Under the state government's flagship initiative, AI Pragya, over 10 lakh youths, teachers, gram pradhans, government employees, and farmers are being trained in AI, machine learning, data analytics and cybersecurity in partnership with tech giants like Microsoft, Intel, Google, and Guvi. The state government aims to train 1.5 lakh people every month, with industry-ready certifications part of the programme. Under the UP Agris Project, 10 lakh farmers are being connected to AI-based technologies such as smart irrigation, drone mapping, pest detection, and digital market access. The initiative also involves 10,000 women's self-help groups as active partners. In the revenue department, satellite imaging and AI algorithms are being used for land consolidation and record management. This has enabled accurate digital mapping, transparent land distribution, and reduction of disputes. To protect mineral resources, 57 unmanned AI enabled check gates have been set up across 25 districts. Illegal mining is being monitored using RFID tags, geofencing, and AI camera-equipped weighbridges. In the healthcare sector, the country's first AI-based breast cancer screening centre has been established in Fatehpur, according to the state government.

Mysuru: State social welfare and district minister HC Mahadevappa said that he would make his best efforts to get promotions and other benefits for SC and ST employees working in the department of rural development and panchayat raj institutions after discussing with the minister concerned. He was speaking after inaugurating the state-level convention of the RDPR department SC and ST employees and the newly formed RDPR department SC and ST Employees Association at the Senate Hall in Manasagangothri. "The state govt has constituted a committee to oversee the issues related to promotions for govt employees. Even the vigilance committee in the department of social welfare will take care of issues related to promotions," he said. The minister also highlighted the role of employees of the RDPR department in the development of villages, where 65% of the population lives in harmony. H e also recalled the contributions of BR Ambedkar, programmes in the Constitution for the empowerment of SC/STs, and other vulnerable sections in society. Ambedkar played a key role in granting voting rights to scheduled castes, tribes, and women in the country. Minister Mahadevappa also hailed the contributions of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi in bringing the 74th amendment to the Constitution for the introduction of a three-tier system of local governance. This amendment also provided 50% reservation for women to be represented in panchayat bodies. Many SC and ST panchayat members, including women, were elected and enjoyed positions in decision-making bodies of the local governance system among 6,200 gram panchayats in the state, he said. Urilingapeddi Mutt Jnanaprakash Swami, MLC Yathindra Siddaramaiah, MLA AR Krishnamurthy, ZP CEO S Ukeshkumar, former Mayor Purushottam, and others were present.
