He has now returned home and is "recovering well."
Weston Keisler was attacked at around 9:55am on Sunday May 11 while talking to his neighbour in Goole, East Yorkshire.
The attack left his lip "hanging off" his face, along with multiple facial lacerations and a fractured arm.
After being rushed to hospital, he underwent a five-hour reconstructive operation to repair the facial injuries.
His mother, Victoria, 37, said: "It was really distressing when I saw him because I couldn't see how injured he was.
"I could just see his face full of blood and the injury to his lip.
"It was quite traumatic but I went on autopilot, I was trying to be strong for him."
She found out about the attack when someone came to the door.
She added: "I remember being really panicky.
"I ran across the road and he was sat there, I remember seeing his massive facial injuries and seeing him covered in blood."

Weston was discharged from Leeds General Infirmary on Monday after successful surgery.
He was given a pot on his arm, as well as dissolvable stitches in his face which will come out in ten to 14 days.
They will continue to give him antibiotics and pain relief at home, as well as getting his injuries checked for infection.
Regarding his recovery, Victoria said: "Weston was in a lot of pain when he first got back home but he's getting a lot better, he's recovering well."
Victoria and her husband Luke have five children aged two to 19 who were "a bit scared" after the attack.
"Both my daughters got really upset seeing his face," she said.
"It hit my 14-year-old particularly hard, she feels really sorry for Weston."
The family also own two dogs, a teacup terrier and a Staffordshire bull terrier, which Weston has been wary of since the attack, as Victoria said "I do think this is going to have an impact on him when he's around dogs.
"I think he's going to be really nervous, especially around larger breeds" although "he's getting there."

She added that he also seems nervous about what people are going to think about his face.
The local community are helping put him at ease, doing fundraising and bringing cards and gifts while he recovers.
Humberside Police are investigating the incident.
A 54-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being a person in charge of a dangerously out-of-control dog that caused injury, and has been released on conditional bail.
The police believe the dog to be a Staffordshire bull terrier which has also been seized as part of the ongoing investigation.
Humberside Police have been approached for comment.

Pictures of Ms Buchan, 34, "posing in lingerie" were handed over by shocked students. In her bio she admitted to being a "good teacher gone bad... really bad". The profile was also easily accessible, requiring no payment or sign up. Ms Black told the hearing: "I was approached by some S5 and S6 boys, who were very excited. "They were saying things like, 'Have you heard the news'. I said something like 'I don't know what you're talking about' as I did not want to engage them in this kind of conversation. "I was then told something like, 'If you haven't heard, when you do, you're going to go ballistic. Look out for Jessica Jackrabbit'. "As I came back into the building, at least two staff stopped to ask me if I knew about Kirsty. It was obvious at this point that everyone knew what was going on." Ms Buchan, who had originally been a pupil at the school before teaching there, did not attend the hearing. In her absence, the headteacher described the OnlyFans model as a "teacher who wanted to do a good job". She told the panel she was referring to "having poor judgement" when it came to being open about sharing her social media with pupils. One concerned mother had even contacted Ms Black and reported how her son left messages for Ms Buchan on her OnlyFans profile. The 34-year-old quit her job shortly after her adult content platform was discovered. She claimed to rake in £60,000 in just one month through her X-rated page. Ms Buchan argued she signed up because she needed some extra cash after her wages decreased. Ms Black added how "there's still talk" about the ordeal now. Hannah Oakley, who investigated the case for GTCS, told the hearing Ms Buchan did not "ensure that her profile picture and bio" was not accessible to those under 18. The panel found all allegations to be proven and she was today struck off from the profession by the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS). Panel member Mr Burton said she was unfit to teach and there was a "significant blurring of boundaries between her private life and her professional life". He added how she "used her profession in her bio as a selling tool". Mr Burton said Ms Buchan's actions were "fundamentally incompatible with being a registered teacher". This comes as an NHS nurse is being investigated for taking explicit snaps for an adult website while at work. Sarah Whittall, 24, has also made sex tapes and sells her used underwear on OnlyFans. The healthcare assistant can be seen showing off her bra and knickers under her uniform. Her NHS hospital ID lanyard is also on display in the pictures. Elsewhere, a civil servant has been filmed moonlighting on a porn site while giving advice over the phone to pensions claimants. She was seen working from home helping callers at the same time as flashing to her followers live on XHamster. Meanwhile, a nursery teacher was sacked after a pupil's mum caught her husband subscribing to her OF account. Elena Maraga, 29, became the centre of a scandal last month when the explicit account was discovered. 5 Her profile was discovered and shared by students Credit: Kirsty Buchan

Renna went into cardiac arrest before later being declared brain dead after using a cleaning product to take part in the deadly challenge. The teen's heartbroken dad Aaron O'Rouke described how his daughter dreamed of fame. He told AZFamily: "She always said, 'I'm gonna be famous, Dad. Just you watch. I'm gonna be famous', and unfortunately this is not under the most optimal of circumstances." Aaron and his wife Dana shared their daughter's tragic story to raise awareness of the social media challenge. Dana said: "There's no ID required. It's odorless. It's everything kids look for. "They can afford it, they can get it, and it doesn't show in mom and dad's drug test." The mom explained how Renna and her boyfriend used an app delivery service to have the cleaning agent delivered to their door. She told 12news: "[Renna] and her boyfriend had Door Dashed product to my house and I didn't know. "It's keyboard cleaner. I didn't know what they were doing with it. Pheobe Bishop cops arrest 34-year-old flatmate who was last to see missing Aussie teen on explosive journey to airport "We want to make sure that we use our tragedy so that no other parent has to experience looking at their child on life support and a ventilator and not breathing on her own all because she huffed out of a can." Dr. Randy Weisman, from the HonorHealth Scottsdale Osborn Medical Center, explained how inhaling aerosols can make users feel drunk or euphoric for a few minutes. But such use can result in liver failure, heart failure and lung disease among other irreversible issues - or death. He told AZFamily: "This is extremely concerning. "When they inhale these chemicals in the gas it will actually replace the oxygen within their lungs and within the rest of their body." Renna's parents said that the only light to come from her passing is that her organs have gone on to save at least six other people. Mom Dana said: "Through that we're finding strength and purpose. "She will be unbelievably missed, leaving the most aching hole in our lives, but if her life is to mean anything, we are going to do what we can to prevent somebody else's child from being where ours is right now. "She will be unbelievably missed, leaving the most aching hole in our lives, but if her life is to mean anything, we are going to do what we can to prevent somebody else's child from being where ours is right now." A post on the GoFundMe set up for Renna read: "On Sunday, June 1st at 1:30pm, our wonderful daughter, after 4 days in the ICU, was pronounced brain dead. "She was the light in every room she walked into, and the pain that her family and friends feel is simply immeasurable. "We want to use the proceeds of this fundraiser to cover the extensive medical bills, burial costs, therapy costs, and to spread awareness about the dangers of Huffing/Dusting, the practice of inhaling keyboard cleaner or similar."

The Sun's world exclusive doc lifts the lid on gripping new information and reveals why Christian Brueckner is the prime suspect. Madeleine McCann: Inside the Secret Evidence is now available to watch online for free on our YouTube page. The dossier of overwhelming circumstantial evidence includes exclusive images of kids' swimming costumes, a toddler bike and toys found at his property. We also reveal how cops found a mask, guns and child kidnap stories where Brueckner describes using kidnap chemical ether to take a mum and tot outside a preschool. Ourfilmreveals the existence of an 80gb hard drive containing images and a laptop key, which may be key in persuading investigators of Madeleine's death. And it also placed Breuckner at the key Maddie search location of the Arades Dam, in Portugal. A document puts the suspectat the location where he allegedly confessed by supposedly saying 'she did not scream' as he discussed the British toddler with an associate. We also reveal sick child kidnap stories where Breuckner wrote: 'A very small girl enters the room. She's definitely not older than five. 'Blonde, long hair tied in pigtails bounces cheekily back and forth as she comes towards me. I feel like I'm in paradise right now." Madeleine McCann cops call off search as trawl of Brueckner's 'rat run' turns up nothing Online messages we uncovered from Brueckner show him bragging to another sicko that he really wanted to 'capture something small and use it for days'. He even threatened it wouldn't matter 'if the evidence is destroyed afterwards' and gleefully added: 'I'll make a lot of films... hehe.' Our documentary on the police files represents the biggest leap forwards in understanding of the case since German police revealed Brueckner as a suspect in 2020. It contains an interview with Irish holiday rep Hazel Behan, 41, who Brueckner was cleared of raping in 2005 at trial in Germany last year. Christian Brueckner refuses to answer police questions or provide an alibi, but has never been formally charged over the disappearance of murder of Madeleine McCann. He has insisted his innocence in letters while his lawyers continue to maintain he had nothing to do with the taking or killing of Maddie. The most recent search for evidence was a three-day dig last week in an area of scrubland near Praia da Luz where Brueckner was known to have wild camped. German and Portuguese police used JCB-type machines and ground-penetrating radar, but found "nothing of consequence" - dashing hopes of pinning Brueckner with DNA evidence.
