Fabrizio Romano Offers Latest on PSG Interest in £50M-Rated Newcastle, Man City Target

PSG are expected to be in the market for a center-back this summer, and one name on their radar is Bournemouth standout Illya Zabarnyi. But landing the Ukrainian defender won't be straightforward.
Last year, PSG leaned into youth with the additions of Lucas Beraldo and Willian Pacho, and that strategy could carry over into this transfer window. While the summer window is still a couple of months away, rumors are already picking up speed.

In May, Sky Sport Switzerland linked PSG with Zabarnyi and Club Brugge's Joel Ordoñez as potential targets. However, bringing in Zabarnyi could depend on how things unfold elsewhere in the squad.
One factor that could shape the club's transfer plans is the future of Matvey Safonov. With Gianluigi Donnarumma potentially solidifying his role as the long-term No. 1, Safonov might be on the move—either through a sale or a loan.
If PSG can clear out some space in the goalkeeper hierarchy, it could strengthen their case to convince Zabarnyi.
Could PSG secure Bournemouth ace Illya Zabarnyi? On Tuesday, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano provided the latest regarding the Parisians' have already opened talks with Bournemouth over a potential move for Zabarnyi.

Luis Campos has been tracking the Ukrainian defender for years and is now pushing to bring him to Paris. PSG do have backup options, though. The club have two other center-backs on their shortlist in case Bournemouth decide not to sell.
PSG face a challenge in securing the talented defender, as The iPaper reported that Zabarnyi, a serious target for Newcastle and admired by Manchester City, is believed to have a starting price tag of around £50 million.

Vintage festival to charge for entry as costs rise

A vintage music festival that has been free to attend since it launched more than a decade ago is to become a ticketed event amid rising costs. Shake & Stir, which takes place in Southbourne, Bournemouth, is a celebration of all things retro, including music, vehicles, dancing and fashion. The not-for-profit community interest company that runs the event said it lost money last year and new legislation had also added to this year's bill. Advance tickets for the festival in Fisherman's Walk on 28 and 29 June will cost £7.50 a day or £10 for the weekend. Stir! Events managing director Mandy Polkey said: "For the last few years we have made sure the money brought in by the traders has almost covered all the costs. "A lot of money has come out of our own pockets as well - we are just a small independent business - but last year we lost more than we wanted to." Ms Polkey said the festival also had to comply with Martyn's Law - new legislation introduced in the wake of the Manchester Arena bombing, which places more responsibility on event organisers to make sure people are safe. She said: "It takes longer to write documentation and we have consultants to help us with that, we need more security personnel, so all of the elements have an impact. "We simply cannot do it for free - it's as simple as that." You can follow BBC Dorset on Facebook, X (Twitter), or Instagram. Who was Martyn Hett and what is Martyn's Law?
