Delhi Minister Ashish Sood inaugurates Ayushman Arogya Mandir in Janakpuri
New Delhi [India], June 17 (ANI): Delhi Minister Ashish Sood inaugurated an Ayushman Arogya Mandir in Janakpuri on Tuesday, calling it a 'revolutionary step' in national capital's healthcare history.
'Today, a revolutionary step has been taken in the history of Delhi's healthcare system. In Delhi, around Ayushman Arogya Mandirs will be made. Out of which, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta inaugurated 33 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs today...The people of Delhi are grateful to Delhi CM, PM Modi and Union Minister JP Nadda,' Sood said.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also inaugurated the Ayushman Arogya Mandir at Tis Hazari Court Complex.
The CM stated that the inauguration was a big milestone and a turning point for the city.
'This is a very big milestone for Delhi, from where a new turning point starts in the journey of the people of Delhi... This is itself a big gift that Delhi has received through the work of the central government, which the previous government did not provide,' the CM said, speaking to the media.
Lashing out at AAP, she stated that the work had been pending for the past four years, yet no efforts had been made to complete it.
'The previous government should have started this work four years ago but they never even entertained the thought of it.... I consider this as a big crime against the people of Delhi. We got only eight months to do this work... This is very different from the Mohalla clinics that the previous government opened, which was nothing but a temporary structure. We want to provide the people of Delhi with the best of health facilities. The entire team is working on a mission that not a single penny made in the interest of Delhi is wasted,' Gupta further stated.
Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa also inaugurated an Ayushman Arogya Mandir at the Budh Bazar Road, B Block in Chaukhandi.
After the inauguration, Manjinder Singh Sirsa informed that 33 Ayushman Aarogya Mandirs had excellent infrastructure and facilities on Tuesday.
'A total of 33 Arogya Mandirs have been inaugurated today, and they have excellent infrastructure', Manjinder Singh Sirsa said.
Last month, on May 18, in a major health initiative under the Pradhan Mantri Vay Vandana Yojana, Delhi Minister Ashish Sood distributed Ayushman Bharat cards to senior citizens aged 70 and above in Janakpuri, West Delhi. (ANI)

7 students pursuing MBBS currently in Iran moved to safe locations: J-K's Doda DC Harvinder Singh
Doda (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], June 18 (ANI): Amid the ongoing tensions between Iran and Israel, the Doda district administration in Jammu and Kashmir confirmed the presence of seven students from the district currently pursuing medical education in Iran. According to Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh, seven students from district Doda are currently studying in Iran. Their locations have been traced, and the Indian Embassy is actively working to ensure their safety. These students have been relocated to safe areas, providing some relief to their families. Speaking to ANI, Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh said, 'Seven students from district Doda are pursuing MBBS currently in Iran. Their locations have been traced, and the Indian Embassy in Iran is working actively to ensure their safety.' The central government, particularly the Ministry of External Affairs and the Indian Embassy in Tehran, is working diligently to ensure the safety of Indian students pursuing MBBS degrees in Iran. Amidst escalating tensions between Iran and Israel, over 1,500 Indian students, primarily from Jammu and Kashmir, are currently stranded in various cities in Iran. 'I personally spoke to one of the parents, and they are satisfied and assured. Given the ongoing conflict in the region, our government is doing everything necessary to ensure the safety of our children,' Singh told ANI. The district administration also assured that it would continue monitoring the situation. Earlier in the day, Israeli Ambassador to India, Reuven Azar, said that Tel Aviv is fully coordinated with the Ministry of External Affairs over the evacuation of Indians following the escalating conflict between Iran and Israel. 'We are fully coordinated with MEA, and when it comes to requests for Indians to evacuate, we are starting to organise now through our Ministry of Transport,' Azar said. 'The diplomats and foreign citizens who want to leave, there are a few options, terrestrial and maritime, and we are coordinating that.' Meanwhile, MEA said on Tuesday that Indian students in Tehran have been moved out of the city for reasons of safety, through arrangements made by the Embassy. Other residents who are self-sufficient in terms of transport have also been advised to move out of the city in view of the developing situation. Separately, some Indians have been facilitated to leave Iran through the border with Armenia.'The Embassy remains continuously in touch with the community with a view to extending all feasible assistance. Union Minister Jitendra Singh convenes meeting of all science & technology institutes and reviews progress of institutes in Northeast
New Delhi [India], June 17 (ANI): Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science & Technology, Earth Sciences, and MoS in the Prime Minister Office, Deptt. of Space and Atomic Energy chaired a high-level review meeting of all science and technology institutes operating in the Northeast, along with key departments of the Nagaland government, in Wokha district on Tuesday, said a statement from Ministry of Science & Technology. During the meeting, Dr Singh emphasised the recent breakthroughs achieved in the region due to an enabling ecosystem fostered by the Government's strong inclination towards science, technology and innovation. He reiterated the importance of not limiting scientific advancement to central areas but expanding it actively into peripheral and remote regions -- particularly the Northeastern states, which hold immense untapped potential. Dr. Singh highlighted the rich biodiversity of the region and identified agriculture and allied sectors, along with tourism and film production, as key focus areas for sustainable growth. Praising Wokha District, he noted its success under the One District One Product (ODOP) scheme with Banana cultivation, which has brought national recognition to the area. 'This model can be scaled to a larger commercial level, boosting the local economy while showcasing the region's unique strengths,' he said. He further shared that a 15-day nationwide saturation campaign for flagship government schemes is being launched, aimed at achieving maximum reach and inclusion. Reflecting on the transformative changes of the last decade, he pointed out that youth from Nagaland and Manipur are now actively recruited into aviation and hospitality industries, which was unthinkable earlier. 'In fact, the recent tragic air crash in Ahmedabad included two young girls from Manipur -- a solemn reminder of how far the region has come,' he said with emotion. Dr. Singh praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's consistent prioritisation of the Northeast, sharing that the PM has visited the region at least 70 times since 2014. 'His goal was to break both mental and physical barriers that distanced the region from the mainstream,' Singh remarked. He urged youth and women to take leadership roles. 'In the Northeast, women have always led -- from managing fish markets to running households. Now is the time to form self-help groups, generate livelihood, and build confidence,' he said. He recalled that women scientists led missions like Chandrayaan, Aditya-L1, and others -- adding that in the Northeast, the culture of women leadership is already embedded. Concluding the meeting, Dr. Jitendra Singh said that India's economic rise to the top three economies globally will be fuelled by unexplored and underexplored regions like the Northeast, aligning with the goal of a Viksit Bharat by 2047. The meeting was attended by Nagaland MLA Dr Chumben Murry, Advisor to the Chief Minister, and senior officials from premier scientific institutions under the Department of Science and Technology, Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Earth Sciences, and Survey of India, among others.
