'Married by best friend': Inside Springbok Vincent Tshituka's wedding

Springbok Vincent Tshituka and his new wife Katlego Monare are sharing a look inside their wedding day, which took place over the weekend.
The DRC-born rugby star and his influencer bride have been dating since 2022, when he 'slid into her DMs'.
Earlier this month, Vincent made his green and gold debut against Italy at Loftus. This follows the Department of Home Affairs officially granting both him and his fellow rugby-playing brother Emmanuel Tshituka their smart ID cards.
On their joint TikTok account, Vincent Tshituka and Katlego Monare – a North-West University graduate – have been sharing content about their wedding day.
In one clip, the couple introduce themselves as Mr and Mrs Tshituka at their reception. Another shows Katlego putting the finishing touches on her strapless white wedding dress.
The video's title was 'Took this before walking down the aisle to marry my best friend.' @vncnt_ktlg

Later, Katlego changed into a champagne gown with a matching shawl. Vincent also wore two looks, a three-piece suit for his wedding ceremony and a more casual look for his reception.
The couple also showed off their wedding entertainment – showing off their moves on the dance floor.
'One minute you're in her DMs, and the next moment you're dancing with your best friend at your wedding', read the sweet caption, written by Vincent Tshituka. @vncnt_ktlg Fairytales do exist! #love #wedding #husbandandwife #marriage #firstdance ♬ original sound – Mason Blake
In November last year, Vincent Tshituka and Katlego Monare celebrated their lobola negotiations with a ceremony merging their Congolese and South African cultures.
The Springbok also posted a screenshot of a DM he had sent to his partner in 2022. In it, the brazen rugby player stated his intentions to marry the beautiful woman.
'I'll come back to this in a couple of years to see', she jokingly responded.

Rhythm & words: Tutu Puoane returns home with poetic jazz tour

South African-born internationally acclaimed jazz vocalist Tutu Puoane is back on home soil and she's bringing a soul-stirring blend of poetry and jazz to local stages. The Antwerp-based vocalist kicks off her South African tour with live performances inspired by Lebo Mashile's poetry. The Wrapped In Rhythm Tour kicked off on Friday at Johannesburg's Market Theatre, marking the start of a cross-country journey that promises an unforgettable fusion of rhythm, voice and lyrical storytelling. The tour celebrates Puoane's latest double album project, Wrapped In Rhythm, inspired by Mashile's celebrated poetry collection In A Ribbon Of Rhythm. The first volume, released in March 2024, has already earned three South African jazz awards, cementing Puoane's place as one of the continent's most compelling musical voices. Puoane's return comes with a curated selection of performances ranging from full-band shows in major cities to intimate duos with long-time collaborator and pianist Ewout Pierreux. Each performance promises a unique encounter with music and poetry interwoven in real-time. Her next performance is on Saturday at the State Theatre in Pretoria. The rest of the the SA tour dates for Wrapped In Rhythm: Wrapped In Rhythm isn't just an album it's a heartfelt dialogue between two powerful Black women artists across time and medium. Puoane breathes melodic life into Mashile's words, tackling themes of identity, womanhood and freedom through a sonic lens. 'The poetry is already so alive on the page. I just wanted to amplify what was already there to give it another dimension,' Puoane shared in a recent interview. Volume Two of Wrapped In Rhythm, a lush orchestral version recorded with the world-renowned Metropole Orkest, is due for release on September 19.

Grannies football tourney founder launches new online show

LIMPOPO – Touching and transforming lives is what Beka Ntsan'wisi does best, and now, she is doing it again through social media. Affectionately known as Mama Beka, she is the founder of the Grannies International Football Tournament. Now she has returned to broadcasting with a new online show that is already reaching thousands of viewers across Facebook and TikTok, recently surpassing one million views. Her new programme, Katekani na Mama Beka, is a motivational talk show featuring pastors and inspirational speakers who aim to uplift and encourage audiences. Mama Beka says the show was born out of public demand; longtime fans of her former radio show Sisumuka u Vangama on Mughana Lonene FM urged her to start her own platform. The show airs live every Thursday from 18:00 to 19:00, and on Sunday mornings from 07:00 to 08:00. It also includes live performances by local musicians such as singer Felicia Majozi and keyboardist Mohale Majozi, among other notable artists. 'It was never my plan to start this kind of show again,' she admits, 'but people kept asking for it, and my younger brother, filmmaker Sam Ntsan'wisi, encouraged me to seize the opportunity.' Widely regarded as 'the mother of the nation,' Mama Beka has launched a new initiative, the Va Mhani Football Tournament, catering to women aged 30 to 50. An international edition of the tournament is scheduled for March next year in Mexico, with teams of women from across the globe expected to participate.
