"I'm Illegal": Lindsay Lohan Seemingly Had To Blurt Out That She Was Underage So Anthony Anderson Would Stop Making Sexual Comments Toward Her, But It Didn't Work
A resurfaced clip of Anthony Anderson interviewing Lindsay Lohan is receiving a ton of backlash for the sexually-charged comments and questions he made to her at such a young age.
In December 2003, Anthony acted as a guest host on The Sharon Osbourne Show. During the episode, Lindsay stopped by to promote the release of Freaky Friday landing on DVD and VHS, for fans' viewing pleasure.
For those of you who aren't old enough to know what those are, before streaming revolutionized the way we watched movies and television, the only way to watch feature films or series at home was to use a disc (DVD) or tape (VHS).
While Anthony's intention might've been playful, the constant sexual innuendos and suggestive language were a little hard to watch, especially since he was 33 at the time, and Lindsay was only 17. And it began as soon as she walked onto the stage.

When she came out, he initially greeted her with a polite kiss on the cheek, but as they sat down, he followed up the moment by saying, "You're sick and you just kissed me on the lips with tongue?" To which Lindsay immediately replies, "I didn't kiss you on the lips!"
He later told her, "My children and I loved you in The Parent Trap." Lindsay, who was grateful for the compliment, thanked him for being a fan of her work.
But the sweet moment turned awkward when he placed his hand on her knee and added, "You've grown up a whole lot since then." Lindsay was visibly shocked by the comment, but laughed it off with the audience.
Later in the conversation, Lindsay revealed she and fellow child star Raven-Symoné just "got a place together." Anthony asked if they had issues with decorating, but Lindsay confirmed they hadn't because they had completely different styles, adding that Lindsay's room was completely pink, while Raven's room had darker colors.
Probably already prepped on Lindsay's love for the color pink, Anthony gifted her pink pillow with his face on it that read, "To Lindsay, Love Anthony."
"This is going to go right on my bed, and when I see you, I will say hi, cuz I'll see your face every night," Lindsay joked after they both exchanged stories of celebrities ignoring them after they tried to say hi to them.

But, as you probably guess, things turned weird again when Anthony responded, "Now aside from entertaining me in your room and in your house, what gentleman will be at the new pad with you and Raven-Symoné?"
"No one," Lindsay said. "I don't have a boyfriend." Anthony then announced to the audience, "Hmm...she's single and looking!" But Lindsay quickly reacted by pointing out, "But I'm illegal for people that are old."
"Well, some men like 'em young, we ain't gonna mention no names, but, you know. I'm one of 'em."
"You have a family man!" said Lindsay, who appeared to look at the audience for backup. She shook her head as she turned back around to look at Anthony, who was still cracking up at his own joke.
After the odd exchange, and only a minute left of the interview, Anthony finally asked a work-related question. Lindsay shared she had two movies coming out and those would end up being big hits as well — none other than Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen and Mean Girls.
He ultimately promoted the Freaky Friday DVD, revealing that everyone in the audience would be receiving one. Despite her getting excited about mentions of the release, by the end, she seemed a little relieved to be done with the interview.

And as much as I wish I could say it ended there, it didn't! As the camera zoomed out, Anthony yelled, "Right now, we're about to get our freak on," as he pulled Lindsay in for an awkward hug.
The clip has since gone viral online. It most likely made its way to 2025 due to the upcoming release of the Freaky Friday sequel, Freakier Friday.
Outside of the obvious, backlash for the clip arose due to Anthony's checkered past, which includes several sexual assault allegations. The first one emerged in 2004 when Anthony and Hustle & Flow assistant director Wayne Witherspoon were accused of raping a 25-year-old extra on the set of the film. A woman claimed to have heard screaming, followed by a naked woman running from a trailer. She was later treated at St. Francis Hospital. The Daily Beast reported that Anthony was charged with aggravated rape, but released on a $20K bond. He denies the allegations.
A spokesperson for Anthony said in a statement: 'Anthony is a happily married family man who has never been accused of – no less involved in – anything remotely like this, and we are confident that when all the facts come out, he will be completely exonerated.' A Memphis judge threw out the case, deeming it 'the most suspicious case I've ever heard.'
Anthony has never been convicted of any of the crimes brought up against him.
But after watching the 2003 clip, it didn't take long for people to share their opinions, and sentiments across social media platforms came to the same conclusion: The interaction was "uncomfortable" and "creepy":

'Ultimate,' 'A Little Bit Alexis' and 13 Other Fake Songs We Still Can't Get Out of Our Heads
These tunes have surpassed only existing within the worlds of their shows and movies and gone on to become cultural phenomenons all on their own No matter how many years pass, these songs have made their mark on our collective consciousness, seemingly for good. And no, it doesn't matter that they are not "real" songs and only existed within the confines of their respective television show or movie. In fact, that only adds to the magic. From Annie Murphy's showstopping performance of "A Little Bit Alexis" on Schitt's Creek to Lindsay Lohan rocking out to "Ultimate" in Freaky Friday, read on to see our top 15 favorite "fake" songs that we can't stop singing to this day. "Ultimate" - Freaky Friday No one was cooler than Lindsay Lohan in 2003 and performing "Ultimate" at the end of Freaky Friday with her her fictional band Pink Slip only helped solidify her status as queen of the early-aughts. While we're not sure what's on their set list these days, Pink Slip's return in the upcoming Freakier Friday movie is sure to provide at least one more anthem. "A Little Bit Alexis" - Schitt's Creek Throughout its six season run, Schitt's Creek provided countless laughs as audiences watched the outrageously hilarious family dynamics play out between David, Alexis, Moira and Johnny Rose. One of the most memorable moments, though, came during season 5 when Alexis, played by Annie Murphy, auditioned for the town's production of Cabaret with a live rendition of "A Little Bit Alexis," which was "the title track off of my critically reviewed, limited reality series." What followed is an incredible 30 seconds replete with choreography we've all tried to replicate. Though the show has been off the air for more than five years, this song will surely live on for decades to come. (And don't worry — there's a full 3:26 version of the song, written by Murphy herself, if you need a longer dance break.) "Smelly Cat" — Friends Lisa Kudrow's Phoebe Buffay belted out several perfectly quirky tunes throughout Friends' 10 seasons. Whether it was inside cozy Central Perk or outside on the streets of New York City, Phoebe had a song for everything. While many were eternally catchy, none have stood the test of time quite like "Smelly Cat." "The Bone Dance" - Hannah Montana How many of us used Miley Stewart's "The Bone Dance" ourselves when trying to remember the names of all the bones? "When I milk the cow, on Uncle Earl's farm, I use the Ulna bone, that is in my arm." With lyrics like that, along with her matching choreography, it was an instant classic and very useful! "Let's Go to the Mall" - How I Met Your Mother When we meet Robin on How I Met Your Mother, it's been years since her career as Canadian pop star Robin Sparkles. But it was only a matter of time before her friends found out her dark secret and introduced us to the instant classic "Let's Go to the Mall." Go ahead and rock your body 'til Canada Day. "On a Roll" - Black Mirror Miley Cyrus was back belting out made-for-TV earworm when she played Ashley O on Black Mirror with the song "On a Roll." Rocking a purple bob wig, the accompanying music video is instantly iconic "Boyz 'N Motion" - That's So Raven This song from the fictional band of the same name made me so very sad that they only existed within the realm of the That's So Raven universe. It's been 20 years since the season 3 episode premiered and I can still see those three boys dancing together to the catchy tune like it aired yesterday. "Feeling the Love" - That's So Raven (Again!) Another That's So Raven hit came from Raven's little brother and his band (which featured David Henrie before he broke out on Wizards of Waverly Place). The song might have been short but its impact is two decades strong. "Crazy, Funky, Junky Hat" - Wizards of Waverly Place As best friends do, Alex and Harper on Wizards of Waverly Place had their fair share of inside jokes and silly moments, one of which is the famous "Crazy, Funky, Junky Hat" song — shout out Keira Knightly! Years later Selena Gomez and Jennifer Stone took a trip back in time and revisited the song in a TikTok video where the two did their old choreography, though this time, with a drink in hand. "In the Moonlight (Do Me)' - Modern Family Though Haley might have been moved by her boyfriend Dylan's love song and its accompanying video, her family had a bit of a different reaction — perhaps it was due to his lyrics "I just want to do you/ Do you want to do me/ Underneath the moonlight?" The song might have gotten Haley grounded but Dylan and his eyeliner have been stuck in our heads ever since. "The Legend of the Rent" - School of Rock One of Jack Black's best roles came more than 20 years ago in 2003's School of Rock, in which the comedian plays a guitarist who pretends to be a substitute teacher for reasons. Rather than teach math or english, Dewey Finn opts to teach his students music and crucial life lessons, and during one of his lessons performs an impromptu performance of "Legend of the Rent." inspired by his recent eviction from his apartment and band. "Supernova Girl" - Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century The year is 1999 and Raven-Symoné and Kirsten Storms are bopping along as they're serenaded by Proto Zoa singing "Supernova Girl." There's spiky bleach blonde hair, a silver leather jacket and they're all in outer space. It's a pretty unforgettable moment in Disney Channel Original Movie history. "Squirrels in My Pants" - 'Phineas and Ferb' "There's 104 days of summer vacation and school comes along just to end it....," you know the rest. In addition to animated series' theme song, Phineas and Ferb was the source of many fun tunes. They include "S.I.M.P. Squirrels in my Pants" about, you guessed it, the experience of having squirrels crawling around your pants. "Pop Goes My Heart" - Music and Lyrics Movie openings don't get much better than 2007's Music and Lyrics which sees Hugh Grant decked out in full '80s glory singing the song "Pop Goes My Heart." There's long hair, dark shades and killer dance moves. "Shiny Teeth" - Fairly Odd Parents With his pearly whites secured back in his mouth, Chip Skylark is ready to film a music video for the aptly titled "Shiny Teeth" about his teeth that "twinkle just like the stars in the space." It would be hard to talk about Fairly Odd Parents and not also talk about another iconic Chip Skylark song from the series "Icky Vicky" about Timmy's babysitter, which gets an honorable mention on this list. Anthony Anderson Addresses Lindsay Lohan Controversy
After a resurfaced video of Anthony Anderson interviewing Lindsay Lohan went viral for all the wrong reasons, he is speaking out. Earlier this week, a clip from a December 2003 episode of The Sharon Osbourne Show went viral. Anthony was acting as the guest host, while Lindsay stopped by to celebrate the DVD and VHS release of her hit film Freaky Friday. It's safe to assume the decades-old interview is making its rounds today because Lindsay is currently promoting her latest feature film — the sequel to Freaky Friday — Freakier Friday. But it's catching everyone's attention due to the nature of the interview and the seemingly inappropriate comments a then-33-year-old Anthony was asking Lindsay, who was 17 at the time. Several remarks with sexual undertones were made, starting as soon as she walked on stage, when he greeted her with a kiss on the cheek and then made a joke about her kissing him "on the lips with tongue." Moments that stick out throughout the interview also included Anthony telling Lindsay his family loved The Parent Trap, while immediately following up with, "You've grown up a whole lot since then," as he put his hand on her knee. He also gifted her a pillow with his face on it after she revealed she and fellow child star, Raven-Symoné, got a place together. Although speaking of the pillow, he worded his next question with a sexual innuendo: "Now aside from entertaining me in your room and in your house, what gentleman will be at the new pad with you and Raven-Symoné?" The conversation topics continued to grow more disturbing after Lindsay said she didn't plan on having any men at her new place, because she didn't have a boyfriend. Anthony announced to the audience, " single and looking!" But Lindsay quickly reacted by pointing out, "But I'm illegal for people that are old." He followed up her comments with, "Well, some men like 'em young, we ain't gonna mention no names, but, you know. I'm one of 'em." Statements like these continued throughout the interview until it was over, literally. In fact, his final words to the audience were, "We're about to get our freak on," referring to him and Lindsay as he embraced her in a hug. While he was seemingly making a reference to Freaky Friday, the fact that he was saying these comments to a teenager made many viewers cringe. Lindsay also appeared uncomfortable during certain moments. Many fans took to social media to voice their strong opinions on the interview, and the sentiments were the same: Well, today, Anthony is responding to the backlash: "This interview was clearly intended as comedy. He regrets if the humor was in poor taste and maintains the utmost respect for Lindsay," a spokesperson tells Entertainment Weekly via email on behalf of Anderson. "Any implication to the contrary is both inaccurate and potentially defamatory." Beyond reactions to it being "creepy," some people also pointed out Anthony's controversial past, which includes several sexual assault allegations. The Daily Beast reported that Anthony was charged with aggravated rape but was released on a $20K bond. He denies the allegations. Lindsay Lohan Wears Pink Balmain Dress on 'Freakier Friday' Carpet
Lindsay Lohan showed up to the Freakier Friday premiere in Mexico, and wore what might be her best look of the entire press tour. (To be clear, she's been looking amazing this entire time—stylist Andrew Mukamal has been pulling some incredible pieces for her!) Lindsay arrived on the red carpet wearing a hot pink gown from Balmain, with ruffles down the front and a necklace halter top. She paired the look with a chic updo and matching hot pink lipstick. As for what we can expect from the movie, LiLo told Good Morning America that "It's going to be a really freaky Friday. Much freakier than you would expect.... It's fantastic. We all just have so much fun and it's so great to have that on set. You just always really want to have a good time. So it's a lot of love, a lot of fun, a lot of laughs and it's a great experience right now." As for working with Jamie Lee Curtis again, she said "Jamie and I have stayed in touch over the years. They always say when you have a best friend or someone that you're really close with, if you cannot see them for years and years, but when you see them again, it's like you've never separated." More recently, Lindsay told Entertainment Weekly "When Jamie called me in Ireland, I was like, 'Yes, I'm in, let's do it.' It's not very often that you get to work with someone who's been such a big part of your life on a personal level. That was exciting for me, to come back and do a big-screen film with a woman that I admire, that's part of my life off screen. To have that chance again, it doesn't happen much. I felt lucky to be able to do it." Freakier Friday hits theaters August 8!
