PM inaugurates Cardiac Catheterization Unit & Renal Dialysis Department at Kuwait Hospital's Heart Center
Sana'a - Saba: Prime Minister Ahmed Ghalib Al-Rahwi inaugurated on Sunday the project to equip the Cardiac Catheterization Unit with the most advanced device in Yemen and the Renal Dialysis Department for heart patients at the Heart Center in Kuwait Hospital, affiliated with Sana'a University. Minister of Health and Environment, Dr. Ali Shiban ,Deputy Minister of Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Hatem Al-Da'is, President of Sana'a University, Dr. Mohammed Al-Bukhayti ,the Prime Minister reviewed the services provided by the Heart Center and the procedures for diagnostic and therapeutic operations in the Cardiac Catheterization Unit, which is equipped with the latest technology in Yemen. They were briefed by the center's director, Dr. Salah Al-Shawki, on the continuous development of the center, particularly the Cardiac Catheterization Unit, which has been supplied with the most advanced cardiac catheterization device at a total cost of 300 million Yemeni riyals. Additionally, the Renal Dialysis Department for heart patients was opened at a cost of 60 million riyals. The presentation highlighted the role of the unit and the center in improving healthcare and treatment for patients. During the inauguration, the Prime Minister praised the ongoing progress at the center since its establishment, noting that he had visited the center before and could now witness new advancements reflecting its qualitative development—a result of collective solidarity and coordinated efforts. He congratulated the students enrolled in the Egyptian Fellowship program at the center, particularly the female students, as the center has alleviated their burdens by providing fellowship study opportunities locally instead of requiring travel abroad. He expressed his hope for the center's growth into a regional hub through the dedicated efforts of all stakeholders to continuously develop this medical and scientific institution. Al-Rahwi affirmed the support of the government for the center, which has proven itself as a fertile ground capable of growth and delivering valuable outcomes for society. He wished the center further progress in its health and educational missions and success for the students in their board certifications. For his part, the Minister of Public Health and Population highlighted the center's capabilities and tangible developments, stressing the need for further cooperation and integration of efforts between the university, the Ministry of Health, the center, and the hospital to leverage expertise and ensure desired successes in improving healthcare services for patients, particularly in cardiac catheterization and renal dialysis. He confirmed the readiness of the Ministry of Health to cover dialysis sessions for kidney failure patients and called for expanding the dialysis department to include all patients in the future. Meanwhile, the President of Sana'a University described the inauguration of the Cardiac Catheterization Unit and the Renal Dialysis Department for heart patients as a motivational drive to push forward the development and equipping of the Heart Center and Kuwait University Hospital. He emphasized that the Heart Center represents a beacon of hope for advancing cardiac care and surgery in Yemen, encouraging positive competition for excellence at local and regional levels through its management, staff, and students. He stressed the aspiration to make it a strong institution matching the strength and momentum of the outputs of Sana'a University's College of Medicine.
