'Regime could fall': Donald Trump says no decision yet on joining Israel in bombing Iran; warns 'anything could happen'
US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that he has not yet decided whether the United States will join Israel in launching strikes against Iran, but warned that the 'regime could fall,' as a result of the conflict.
Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump was asked whether he believed the Iranian government could fall.
'Sure. Anything could happen, right?' he replied, adding that a change in Iran's leadership 'could happen.' His remarks come amid heightened tensions in the region following Israel's strikes on Iranian nuclear and military sites.
While Trump has not committed to direct US involvement in the ongoing Israel-Iran conflict, he signaled increasing pressure on Tehran and emphasized that all options remain on the table.
Earlier, during another exchange with reporters at the White House, Trump declined to say definitively whether he would order US forces to strike Iran's nuclear facilities. 'I may do it, I may not do it. I mean, nobody knows what I'm going to do.'
He also warned that a turning point may be imminent. 'Nothing is finished until it is finished,' further adding that, 'the next week is going to be very big— maybe less than a week."

Responding to Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who rejected US demands for surrender, Trump offered a blunt reply: 'I say good luck.'
The president's cryptic remarks come as Israel's strikes on Iran enter their sixth day, fueling speculation over potential US involvement and raising concerns about a broader regional conflict. Trump's cautious yet provocative tone has also sparked debate within his own party, with allies divided on how far the US should go in backing Israel.
Earlier, Khamenei had dismissed Trump's previous threats and rejected the call for "unconditional surrender."
"Intelligent people who know Iran, the nation and the history of Iran will never speak to this nation in the language of threats, because the Iranian nation cannot be surrendered," Khamenei declared in a televised statement, according to Iranian state media.
"The Americans should know that any US military intervention will undoubtedly be accompanied by irreparable damage," he added.
This response challenged both Israel and Trump, as the US contemplated joining Israel's aerial operations. Both nations insist Iran must not acquire nuclear weapons, whilst Iran maintains it has no such intentions.

AI sacked us for reporting Dreamliner door glitch: 2 ex-staffers in letter to PM
Mumbai: Two senior Air India flight attendants have written to PM Modi, claiming they were terminated from service by the airline after they refused to change their statement about a technical problem with a Boeing 787 door last year. They alleged the Dreamliner's door had malfunctioned as the slide raft deployed, though the door was opened in the "manual mode". Slide rafts deploy when a door is opened in "armed" or "automatic mode". The incident, they claimed, occurred on May 14, 2024, after the Mumbai-London B787 (VT-ANQ) operating flight AI-129 docked at Heathrow and the passengers disembarked. The incident, they say, was initially corroborated in writing by the pilot and cabin-in-charge. "However, to our utter shock and surprise when we told (the AI management) the truth that the door was in manual position when opened, we were threatened with termination," the letter alleged on Wednesday. tnn The former senior AI flight attendants wrote to the PM that after refusing to revise their statements on the malfunctioning Dreamliner door, they were served show-cause notices and dismissed within 48 hours—exactly one year before the June 12 Ahmedabad crash which killed 272 people. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 임플란트, 지금 시작하세요 [자세히 보기] 임플란트 더 알아보기 Undo "We refused to change our statements despite considerable pressure exerted on us by higher authorities," the letter alleged, naming three officials. "However later the commander changed his statement by stating that he was not looking when the door was opened," it alleged. At Heathrow, AI crew disembark from a different door. Accordingly, the pilots and crew gathered at door L4 last year in May. The two flight attendants, responsible for door opening, carried out the checklist to confirm it was in the manual position, said the letter. But the slide raft deployed when the door was opened. The letter alleges Air India and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) suppressed the May 14, 2024, incident and other similar occurrences involving Dreamliners. The crew claim DGCA launched only an "informal inquiry" despite the gravity of safety issues raised, and no report has been shared since. They also allege key witnesses present during the slide deployment incident were deliberately excluded from the probe. Both crew members have served Air India for over two decades. Their complaint was filed with Central Vigilance Commission last year.

Indian Navy confined Pakistan Navy units to their harbours during Operation Sindoor: CDS Gen Anil Chauhan
1 2 3 Visakhapatnam: Indian Navy played a crucial role in the recent Operation Sindoor by deploying 36 naval ships, including those from the Carrier Battle Group, in the designated area, said chief of defense staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan. He added that this strategic deployment confined the Pakistan Navy to their harbors. While presiding over the commissioning of INS Arnala, the first of the Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft (ASW SWC), at the Naval Dockyard in Visakhapatnam, General Chauhan highlighted the Indian Navy's firepower at sea. He noted that the navy's ship and air-launched missiles imposed a significant deterrent impact on the enemy's operational planning and tactical actions. As a result, the Indian Navy established a de facto blockade, restricting Pakistan Navy units to their harbors. General Chauhan emphasized that the Indian Navy's influence on the overall battle was emphatic. The Indian Navy's transition from being a 'Buyers Navy' to 'Builders Navy' has been the backbone of its 'Blue Water' aspirations. Indigenous construction of more than 98 ships, including the Aircraft Carrier (INS Vikrant), nuclear-powered ballastic missile submarines, destroyers, frigates, corvettes, tanker, survey vessels, landing craft and other auxiliary vessels is a testimony to growing prowess of the Indian shipbuilding industry and the versatility it possesses, Gen Anil Chauhan added. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch CFD với công nghệ và tốc độ tốt hơn IC Markets Tìm hiểu thêm Undo India has earned its stature of a significant maritime power and has come to be a preferred security partner in the Indian Ocean region, by leveraging its strategic location, economic influence and strong capable navy. As we protect and preserve vital sea lanes that are crucial for global trade and energy flows, our naval platforms play a key role in maintaining maritime security, countering piracy, and ensuring the safety of the shipping routes. With 60 ships at different stages of construction, and more than 180 at pre-contract stage, it is a testimony of our govt's commitment towards raising and maintaining a strong blue water maritime force, he added. INS Arnala has been designed and constructed indigenously as part of the 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' initiative. The state-of-the-art vessel signals an advancement in strengthening India's maritime security in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR). The primary role of the ship is to detect, track and prosecute enemy submarines, particularly in coastal and shallow water regions. Designed for a broad range of anti-submarine operations, INS Arnala is equipped to conduct sub-surface surveillance and interdiction, search and rescue missions, and low-intensity maritime operations (LIMO). This 77-meter-long warship, with a gross tonnage of over 1,490 tonnes, is the largest Indian Naval warship to be propelled by a diesel engine-waterjet combination. The commissioning of INS Arnala not only reinforces India's defence capability but also highlights the triumph of indigenous design, engineering, and manufacturing. As India continues its maritime journey toward greater self-reliance, INS Arnala stands as a proud symbol of national strength, industrial partnership and naval excellence. Vice admiral Rajesh Pendharkar, flag officer, commanding-in-chief, Eastern Naval Command (ENC) said that INS Arnala was designed to counter submarine threats in shallow waters. INS Arnala is purpose-built to protect the coastal and offshore assets as well as choke points from threats that are becoming increasingly quiet, fast, and invisible. Arnala is also the first IN platform to have been installed with and successfully fired upon the 30 mm Naval Surface Gun (NSG), a close-in-weapon system, he added.
