You don't even need a paid subscription for YouTube TV or YouTube Primetime Channels. Verizon revived its Sunday Ticket on Us promo on Tuesday, and it will run through Sept. 23, along with an alternative option to get $200 off the sports package for a savings of up to $480. The deal grants football fans access to watch out-of-market Sunday games that aren't broadcast on their local networks. As an added perk, the company is giving out a limited number of free tickets to NFL games. You'll need a Google account to stream live games on the sports package. This promo expires on Sept. 23, and you must redeem it within 60 days of your purchase or service activation. How do you know if you're eligible for free access? If you buy a 5G phone from Verizon and sign up for a new line on its myPlan service, you can get the deal. Wireless customers can bring their own phone and add a new line with myPlan to be eligible. Activate one of these internet plans: Fios 1 Gig, Fios 2 Gig, LTE Home Plus or 5G Home Ultimate. Get $200 off the price of Sunday Ticket Existing Verizon phone or home internet customers can still get a discount without switching subscription plans or buying new devices, and returning Sunday Ticket subscribers may also be eligible. Yankees snap 5-game skid after Paul Goldschmidt's pinch homer to avoid rare sweep in Texas
ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Paul Goldschmidt put the Yankees ahead with a pinch-hit solo homer in the seventh inning and New York ended its five-game losing streak with a 3-2 victory over the Texas Rangers on Wednesday. Goldschmidt went deep off lefty reliever Robert Garcia (1-7), who has now given up homers in his last three appearances. The Yankees (61-54) avoided being swept in Texas for the first time since 2010, and kept the Rangers from moving past them for the American League's third and final wild-card spot. Mark Leiter Jr. (5-6) got the win after coming on with a runner on in the sixth and getting a flyout before a double-play grounder to end the inning. Ohtani gets 1,000th career hit with go-ahead homer, strikes out 8
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Shohei Ohtani hit a go-ahead, two-run homer for his 1,000th career hit and struck out a season-high eight over four innings Wednesday in the longest mound outing yet this season for the Los Angeles Dodgers' two-way superstar. The right-hander made his eighth mound start of the season after not pitching in 2024 while recovering from elbow surgery. He closed his outing against the St. Louis Cardinals by striking out the side in the fourth and walked off wiping his face on a 90-degree (32 Celsius) day. Masyn Winn tossed his bat in frustration after going down swinging. Ohtani threw 54 pitches, 37 for strikes, and gave up one run and two hits. Ohtani's 39th homer traveled 440 feet to center and scored Alex Call, who doubled leading off in the third, to give the Dodgers a 2-1 lead. In the first, Ohtani swung at the first pitch and reached when first baseman Alec Burleson booted the ball for an error. Ohtani retired the side in the first and second innings. He touched 100 mph on a four-seam fastball to Iván Herrera, who struck out swinging in the third. Jordan Walker singled leading off and stole second, the first swiped bag against Ohtani this season.
