Club World Cup: Yildiz scores twice against Wydad to put Juventus on verge of last 16
Kenan Yildiz scored two goals to lift Juventus to a 4-1 victory over Wydad on Sunday in their Group G match in Philadelphia.
Juventus started brightly in front of a crowd of 31,975 on a sticky afternoon at Lincoln Financial Field, taking the lead in the sixth minute. Yildiz was instrumental in the opener as his angled shot forced Wydad defender Abdelmounaim Boutouil to turn the ball into his own net. Ten minutes later, Yildiz unleashed a spectacular strike from the edge of the box into the top-right corner to give Juventus a 2-0 lead, but a mistake by the Italian defence gifted Thembinkosi Lorch a goal to reduce the deficit in the 25th minute.
Juve, however, extended their lead again through Yildiz's brilliance, with the 20-year-old Turkey forward scoring their third goal from close-range in the 69th minute, with substitute Dušan Vlahović wrapping up their commanding win from the penalty spot deep in added time.

The result eliminates Wydad, who lost their opening match to Manchester City. Juventus will qualify for the last 16 if Al Ain fail to beat City on Sunday evening.

Mickey Moniak, Antonio Senzatela lead Rockies past D-backs
June 22 - Mickey Moniak homered, Antonio Senzatela pitched solidly into the sixth inning and the Colorado Rockies beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 4-2 on Sunday in Denver. Senzatela (3-10) allowed a pair of runs over 5 1/3 innings to earn the win for the second straight start. Senzatela had gone nine games (eight starts) without a win before beating Washington on Tuesday night. Seth Halvorsen got the final three outs to pick up his sixth save. He was the last of five pitchers that held Arizona to five hits. Randal Grichuk had two hits and Josh Naylor scored both runs for the D-backs on his 28th birthday. Arizona had its three-game winning streak snapped and managed just two runs after scoring 19 over the first two games of the series. The D-backs had a season-high 21 hits on Friday night and 10 more Saturday night but were held to one extra-base hit on Sunday. They threatened in the ninth when Grichuk hit a two-out double off the wall in right, but Halvorsen got pinch hitter Ketel Marte to fly out to end the game. Arizona took the lead in the second when Naylor walked, Eugenio Suarez doubled and Grichuk hit a sacrifice fly. Grichuk helped extend the lead in the fourth as Naylor hit a one-out single, went to second on a wild pitch and scored on Grichuk's single. Brandon Pfaadt held Colorado to two singles through four innings but was hit hard in the fifth. Brenton Doyle, Kyle Farmer and Braxton Fulford led off with consecutive singles to make it 2-1. Pfaadt retired the next two batters before Moniak followed with a home run just inside the foul pole in right field to put the Rockies in front.
