ITV The Voice coach quits show to be replaced by huge music icon
The Voice UK will be returning to our screens this summer, but there will be a shake up to the judging panel as a huge American music icon will be replacing a certain star on the show Music legend Kelly Rowland is returning to our screens as she joins The Voice UK coaching teams. The former Destiny's Child member will replace LeAnn Rimes on the new series of the ITV singing competition. Kelly, who was previously a judge on The X Factor, will be joined by superstar mentors and Sir Tom Jones, as well as last year's winning coaches McFly's Tom Fletcher and Danny Jones, who made history as the first-ever double chair on the show. Sadly LeAnn won't be returning with Kelly taking her seat, the Mirror reports. The Grammy Award winning artist, songwriter, actress, producer and TV personality rose to fame in the 90's due to the worldwide success of Destiny's Child. As the band split up she went on to perform solo, selling over 40 million records globally and is known for her chart topping singles such as 'Dilemma', 'Stole', 'Work' and 'When Love Takes Over'. Kelly is no stranger to judging talent shows, having served as a judge on The X Factor UK and The X Factor USA, as well as being a coach on The Voice Australia. The star has been in the spotlight for multiple decades and has years of experience in the music industry, making her a highly respected and influential figure in global entertainment and pop culture. Speaking about her arrival on The Voice UK, Kelly said: "I am excited to join The Voice UK as a coach, and am looking forward to working with the excellent and passionate coaches the show is known for. I can't wait to hear all the new talent and to go to battle for my team. Let's go!" Sir Tom Jones expressed his excitement for the series, saying: "It's always a pleasure to return to The Voice UK as every year I'm reminded of the incredible talent we have in this country." "I'm looking forward to sitting alongside once again, having Tom and Danny in their chair for a second series, and of course I'm excited to welcome Kelly Rowland to the panel. She's an amazing artist with a huge amount of experience to share." added: "can't wait for the new season of The Voice UK. I'm so happy to be back on it. If you thought last year was dope, this year we've got Kelly Rowland who's gonna take this season to the dopest level possible!" "We've got Danny and Tom who are the super dope duo, and the dopest legend of them all is back - Sir Tom Jones." "The whole point of this show is to watch aspirational, ambitious singers pursue their dreams - it's a joy prescription for a healthy amount of dopamine that brings love to our lives," he concluded. Presenter Emma Willis will return to The Voice UK as the host, and she is extremely excited to be working with Kelly. "I'm so excited to be back for another series of The Voice UK," Emma stated. "It's one of the most joyful shows to work on - full of passion, talent and of course those unforgettable moments when the chairs turn. With our brilliant coaches returning and the utterly fabulous Kelly Rowland joining the panel, I know this series is going to be something really special."
