Olly Murs reveals 'great sadness' as he breaks silence on twin brother feud

Olly Murs has opened up about his estrangement with twin brother Ben, who he hasn't spoken to since 2009 when he chose to appear on the X Factor rather than attend his wedding Olly Murs has revealed he finally understands how devastated his mum has been over his decades long fallout with his twin brother as he opened up about the feud that has ripped his family apart. ‌ The pop star hasn't spoken to his brother since he chose to perform on the X Factor semi-final rather than attend his sibling's wedding, where he was due to be best man. ‌ Olly's brother Ben branded him a 'self obsessed sell-out', cut off all contact and the pair have not spoken since. ‌ "Now I'm a parent I can relate more to my mum's sadness that my twin brother, Ben, and I have been estranged since 2009," says Olly. Offering an olive branch he said: "I've got nothing but love and respect for him." Speaking to The Sunday Times Magazine, the singer added that in recent years megastar Robbie Williams has become like a brother to him, with the pair deepening their bond as Olly joined him on stage this year. ‌ While Olly's family is set to grow larger again this year as he and wife Amelia prepare to welcome their second child after tying the knot in 2023. Olly said he will be doing things differently second time round after leaving Amelia and their newborn immediately after she gave birth due to work commitments. "Two days after Madison was born I had to go on tour supporting Take That. Amelia had lots of support around her as her mum came to stay and my parents live near us in Essex, but it was hard and I felt guilty. ‌ "We both understand that my work isn't like a regular job — but second time round I'm not going anywhere," he insists." Olly continued: "My aim in life is to be a great husband and father - that's where my future lies. I'd love my career to continue as it is, but when you get married and become a dad, you just want to be the best for them." ‌ The Troublemaker singer said his fallout with brother Ben has impacted him hugely and he still 'struggles with loneliness.' He told The Times last year: "When you've been in the womb with someone, you struggle with loneliness. I had to deal with it when my twin and I went on our separate lives. "I was desperate to be around people, could not sit in a room alone." ‌ As well as distancing himself from Olly, Ben also cut contact with their parents and his sister. He told the Daily Mail in January 2017: "I was very close to my parents, but fame and greed changed everything. "My parents wanted this bright, shiny Olly with the money who can give them the VIP lifestyle. They liked hanging around with Simon Cowell, or going to Bon Jovi concerts – they loved their VIP selfies. ‌ "I'm not interested in anything like that, I have a lovely life with my wife and kids." Olly said despite the bad blood, he would still make friends with his brother if he'd allow it. "I still want to make that change with my brother." Asked by Lorraine Kelly in 2018 if he though the rift could ever heal, Olly said: 'I hope so, of course, it's mad because every year I think about it, (will it be) nine years, 10 years. I did text him for his birthday but he changed his number. " Christmas has never been the same," he admitted.

The views alone are worth the visit, with plenty of rural beauty to admire while rocking out to the music and enjoying a bite to eat. UB40 also took to the main stage earlier that day and it wouldn't be a UB40 performance without them singing their arguably best know hit Red Red Wine, which got the festival-goers singing along. Another standout star from the line-up was rapper Professor Green, who performed a set on Sunday. Although there was some rain and grey skies at times, it definitely didn't dampen spirits and if anything brought attendees together. Olly Murs breaks silence on baby two 'I didn't expect it to happen this quick' The Lullaby hitmaker looked in good form as he performed in front of a lively crowd, opening with his 2019 track Bad Decisions. He was full of enthusiasm as he sang other well known hits Remedy, Monster and Read All About It while bouncing around the stage. British singer-songwriter Cat Burns also delivered a flawless performance with her silky smooth vocals on Saturday night. Cat commanded the stage as she belted out her hugely successful huge track Go, leaving the crowds wanting more. There was plenty more artists taking to the stage across the weekend - with noughties favourites Scouting for Girls, Britain's Got Talent's Diversity, X Factor double act Jedward, international DJ Nathan Dawe, Artful Dodger and Ocean Colour Scene. Nineties icon Gabrielle brought the sunshine with her during her set, with classics like Out of Reach, Sunshine, Dreams and Rise. The mums, dads, grandparents and kids were up on their feet for this one. There really was something for everyone. The music is not the only thing that this festival has to offer. We headed to the Wonky Lizard tent for some late night comedy and spent some of the afternoon channelling my inner Nicole Kidman in a special Moulin Rouge Cabaret show. The variety of entertainment available will keep you busy all day. There was also bingo, a Greatest Showman circus - with firebreathers and hula hoopers, and a family quiz, while tribute band Oasish paid homage to rockers Oasis in the tent, amid Noel and Liam Gallagher's comeback tour. There was a whole dedicated section to keep children occupied, with a fun fair, rides, a silent disco and even a Bluey, Peppa Pig and Bing meet and greet. The little ones were also able to enjoy some downtime in front of the a big screen playing children's films throughout the day. If you fancy taking some time out, many headed to the Retreat zone which ran from the morning to mid afternoon, offering Thai massage workshops, south baths and yoga which will leave you feeling very zen. The weather did pick up and those who wanted to get a dose of Ibiza headed to O beach, a premium pop up space with everything synonymous with O Beach including iconic round pool beds. There was even hot tubs and a dance floor with dancers putting on a immersive shows throughout the day. The quality of food vendors at the festival made the experience even better knowing we could grab some delicious food and drink without having to leave the venue. We tucked into some piping hot jacket potatoes, freshly made pizzas, and mac and cheese with loaded fries and chicken. And if you thought you'd be waiting hours for some nosh, then you'd be pleasantly surprised to know that queues were quick and efficient. Five reasons to visit Together Again Festival The music has something for everyone, if you want your cheesy pop tunes, your more electric beats, some chilled out country vibes or some throwback beats, then you'll love this. The food is reasonably priced and has a variety - from Greek food, to noodles or Italian, there is something delicious that will keep you full and happy The venue and location is breathtaking and when your attention is not on the stage, then it will be on the gorgeous scenery and the Bolesworth Castle in the backdrop Perfect for all ages whether you're a toddler or over 80. The organisers have really catered for everyone. If you fancy taking some time out you can head to the Retreat zone or if you want a mini rave then Agora tent is for you. Cheshire Zoo is around a 25mins drive from Bolseworth Castle and has over 37,000 animals from over 500 incredible species. The city centre also has an array of food spots, stunning architecture and Chester Cathedral is a must visit, with plenty of history. Party-goers who wanted to get up on stage themselves headed to the Wonky Lizard for a bit of Barrioke, while you could rave from morning to night with electric dance music in the Agora tent. And those who wanted to throw things back to the 90s, boogied on down to the Rewind stage, where So Solid Crew, Ultrabeat, Sonique, East 17, Phats and Small and Soul Town performed some bangers. But my favourite had to be the Ranch stage. If you're a Taylor Swift fan and love your country music, this is the perfect little spot where you can don your cowboy boots and straw hat while chilling out on haystacks and sipping on a cold beverage. The hooky tune is a crisp slice of contemporary pop that sounds like it came from a much older and experienced artist. Wang's Spotify account has nearly 19,000 subscribers and the song has 20,000-plus hits and counting. Those are solid numbers for a debut. But Wang is already a seasoned pro. The St. George's student last appeared in the pages of The Vancouver Sun when he starred as Tiny Tim in the Arts Club Theatre production of Dolly Parton's Smoky Mountain Christmas Carol four years ago in 2021. This wasn't Wang's first professional gig. He also appeared in a version of Oliver at the Gateway Theatre, which was recommended by theatre critic Jerry Wasserman. Trained under VSO School of Music voice teacher Diane King, the young soprano is already a member of UBCP/ACTRA acting unions. A multi-instrumentalist on guitar, piano and turntables, he talked about his new single on his way to Italy from Nice, France, where his Grade 7 class is on its graduation trip. Q: When did you first discover an interest in singing and songwriting? This advertisement has not loaded yet, but your article continues below. A: I was obsessed with listening to music right from being a baby and, as I grew much older, started developing my interest learning piano and guitar. My very first chord learned on guitar was C major. From there I wrote my first song, titled Sweet Night. I have around 20 songs now. Q: What instruments did you play for Troublemaker? A: I played keyboard and guitar and a very little amount of drums for the song. I have a home studio where I record my ideas. Aside from school, I devote most of my time to creating music as it is my main passion outside of academics. Q: Do you have a goal in mind with releasing this single? A: I think most songs are either for adults or very young kids and I really wanted to write something that was for teens my age. It's kind of my way to celebrate being a rule breaker and a rule changer. Sometimes, you have to make a little mischief to have a little fun and the song is all about having fun. I used Runway with ChatGPT to design the cover art and video. This advertisement has not loaded yet, but your article continues below. Q: Troublemaker is a contemporary pop track, but you have classical music chops as well, don't you? A: In Grade 4, I had the pleasure to perform with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, singing a song that accompanied a screening of the film the Snowman. Right now, I'm not doing any vocal training since I'm pretty busy promoting my songs and acting. Do you have any cool acting roles coming up in the future? A: I've booked a few major roles that I can't discuss right now because of NDAs (non-disclosure agreements), but I can tell you that one is coming on Netflix. And I have also got a movie coming this summer. I started auditioning for musical theatre at age nine. The Tiny Tim role at the Arts Club was my first time doing a musical and I thought it was really cool. sderdeyn@ Love concerts, but can't make it to the venue?
