Khanapur: Farmers told to utilise purchase centres
Speaking on the occasion, he said that farmers of nearby villages should utilise the purchase centers for the paddy they have grown in the Rabi crop and use the support price provided by the government.
He advised IKP officials to take steps to ensure that farmers do not face any difficulties at the purchase centres.

Mahindra & Mahindra sold 28,708 tractors in month of July 2025 compared to 27,209 units in July 2024, recording a growth of 6%. The company's domestic tractors sales rose 5% to 26,990 units while exports rose 6% to 1,718 units during the month. Commenting on the performance, Veejay Nakra, President Farm Equipment Business, Mahindra & Mahindra said, We have sold 26,990 tractors in the domestic market during the month of July 2025, a growth of 5% over last year. This performance was driven by sustained land preparation activities, supported by robust cash flows in rural markets following the conclusion of Rabi crop harvesting. Additionally, the normal progression of monsoon across most regions further contributed to good demand during the onset of sowing for the Kharif season. In the exports market, we have sold 1,718 tractors, a growth of 6% over last year.

Mahindra & Mahindra's Farm Equipment business reported total tractor sales of 28,708 units in July 2025, marking a 6 per cent increase compared to 27,209 units in July 2024. This includes both domestic and export sales . Domestic and export performance Domestic sales stood at 26,990 units, showing a 5 per cent rise from 25,587 units sold in the same month last year. Export volumes reached 1,718 units, up 6 per cent from 1,622 units a year earlier. Veejay Nakra, President – Farm Equipment Business, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. said, 'We have sold 26,990 tractors in the domestic market during the month of July 2025, a growth of 5 per cent over last year. This performance was driven by sustained land preparation activities, supported by robust cash flows in rural markets following the conclusion of Rabi crop harvesting. Year-to-date sales as of July 2025 stood at 1,62,797 units, reflecting a 9 per cent increase compared to 1,48,676 units in the corresponding period of FY25. Domestic sales during the same period reached 1,56,189 units, while exports were at 6,608 units.

Expedite lifting of rice, KV urges Centre
Bhubaneswar: Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo on Monday urged Union Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Minister Pralhad Joshi to expedite the lifting of rice from the State by the Food Corporation of India (FCI). Singh Deo, along with several BJP MPs from Odisha, met the Union minister in New Delhi and discussed the rice procurement target set for Kharif Marketing Season (KMS) 2024-25 and lifting of rice by FCI. Odisha has procured a record quantity of 92,64,235 metric tonnes (MT) of paddy during KMS 2024-25, which is equivalent to 62,62,086 MT of rice, and is the highest ever procurement in the State's history. After the State's consumption, including during both Kharif and Rabi, there will be a surplus of 12 lakh MT of rice, which needs to be lifted by FCI. Additionally, the slow pace of surplus rice lifting by FCI is hampering overall procurement operations.
