Spice Girls' record sales hit £600K as potential 30th anniversary tour looms
The girl group are rumoured to be embarking on a world-wide reunion tour next year.
It's been almost 30 years since the Spice Girls first burst onto the pop music scene, and a possible reunion tour is looming. In anticipation of a potential tour, fans have been rediscovering the group's records, which generated more than £600,000 in sales last year. And accounts for their firm Spice Girls Ltd show that they received £613, 275 in royalties for 2023.
Spice Girls Ltd also retained more than £32,000 in cash in its coffers. Geri Horner and band guru Simon Fuller are said to be back in touch, with rumours the pair were meeting up in Miami earlier this year, along with Geri's F1 husband.
Victoria Beckham is '90 per cent out of the running' but Geri, Emma Bunton, Mel B and Mel C are said to be considering a 30-years anniversary world tour next year, reported the Mirror. There have even been claims that Victoria could appear as an 'avatar', used in the hugely successful Abba shows in London.
The Spice Girls' debut single 'Wannabe' was released in 1996 and propelled them to global fame. Their latest accounts suggest a serious demand to see the girls reunite in concert.
Mel Brown has teased that a world tour is possible, hinting this week that there could be plans on the horizon for the girls.
'We've got a year to work on them. Let's put it that way,' she said. The group has not performed as a five-piece since the 2012 Olympics Closing Ceremony.
In April last year, all five spent an evening together as part of Victoria's 50th birthday celebrations. It added to the hopes that they could be set to get back together again.
Band members have spoken openly of that as a possibility for next year. As a guest on Australia 's 2Day FM in March, Mel C said: 'It's 30 years next year since the release of Wannabe. We have to do something special.
"Obviously I can't say too much, but we are talking about things. Hopefully a nice little world tour."
In April, Geri said: "My hope is we come back together as a collective."
Geri said they still had love and respect for each other, again sparking hopes of a reunion.
But a reunion tour would likely include all but one of the original Spice Girls, as Victoria Beckham is most likely going to give it a miss.
The girls previously toured together in 2020 as a foursome, but Victoria did not take part.
She has been in the news recently due to rumours of a feud with son, Brooklyn Beckham, and his wife, Nicola Peltz.
The family made headlines as Brooklyn and Nicola pulled a 'no-show' for David Beckham's birthday.
Some have accused Peltz of being manipulative towards Brooklyn, and of driving a rift in the Beckham family.

Former Project star makes shock return to the show after quitting three years ago
Peter Helliar was back on The Project on Tuesday night. The comedian, who sensationally quit the current affairs series in 2022, appeared alongside series regulars Waleed Aly, Sam Taunton, Sarah Harris and guest star Kate Langbroek. While fans of the show were happy to see Peter back behind the desk, he was just dropping by to promote his new children's book, Detective Galileo. Peter admitted he felt a little unusual sitting in a spot on the desk normally reserved for guests. 'I used to be on this side of the desk, and then the last few times on that side, and now back on this side. I'm playing tennis with myself!' he joked. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Peter explained that his three sons Liam, Oscar and Aiden 'are 22, 20 and 16' so no longer the target audience for his kid's books. 'I still sit at the edge of their bed and read to them' he joked. 'They are less interested to hear my ideas, but they love it and they are supportive. I try to get in touch with my own inner child rather than talk to my kids about it'. It's not the first time Peter has returned to the show since his departure. Last year, he appeared on the desk alongside Michael Hing, Max Rushden and Sarah Harris. 'It's our globetrotting mate, Pete Helliar, on the desk!' the veteran was introduced, before explaining what brought him back to his old stomping ground for a guest appearance. 'I had to come back from Argentina because I've not put in my vote in for marsupial of the year' Peter, who had spent time travelling recently for The Amazing Race Australia, joked. 'The Wi-Fi wasn't good on the Inca Trail. I'm a hairy-nosed wombat guy. They twerk people to death'. Peter then settled right into the show, presenting stories and joking with the new cast like old friends. His fans were delighted, with several sharing their thoughts on social media. 'Great! You need to return permanently!' wrote one person while someone else said: 'Should be the co-host'. Peter earlier revealed the real reason why he quit The Project as the mass exodus from the struggling Channel Ten show continues. The 49-year-old announced he was leaving the show three years ago, and at the time explained he decided to quit following the departure of his co-host Carrie Bickmore. 'Carrie, you recently said that you are glad you're leaving The Project while you still love it and I still love the show. I really do,' he said. '[The Project] means a lot to me. It's done amazing things for me. I interviewed Luke Skywalker once... and I look forward to see what the show is in the future.' Peter also said he's excited to be moving into 'new areas' and didn't want to be 'a creator who leaves meetings to go to another meeting'. He also told Nova's Fitzy & Wippa that he wants to 'do things with my life professionally and personally'. '[There are] things I want to do with my life, not just professionally but personally and I've already booked into the ashes in London next year,' he said. 'It's not just 10 years on the project. But before that is like 10 years on Rove Live in the office every day.' The Project was rocked by two other high-profile exits in late 2022. Lisa Wilkinson announced she was quitting effective immediately, and long-time anchor Carrie confirmed her departure a month prior. 'I have decided it's time to reprioritise a few things in my life,' Wilkinson began alongside co-hosts Hamish Macdonald and The Bachelor's Laura Byrne. 'And after almost 15 years of the early alarm of breakfast TV, and now another five years here at The Project desk, I'm looking at how I want the coming years to play out both professionally and personally.' In October that year, Lisa's co-star Bickmore announced her departure from The Project after 12 years on air. Bickmore had been absent for a three month 'sabbatical' with her family in London earlier this year, before returning to the panel in July, only to quit in October.

Nicola Peltz's powerful inner circle- which includes Victoria and David's ex-pal
Nicola Peltz has reportedly been 'blown away' by the support from A-List celebrities and has grown her 'inner circle' amid family feud with Victoria and David Beckham Nicola Peltz and Brooklyn Beckham's family feud with David and Victoria Beckham is showing no signs of slowing down as Nicola is now reportedly surrounded by an inner circle of A-list celebrities who are offering support, including Victoria Beckham's ex-pal. It's believed that Brooklyn, 26, is currently embroiled in a feud with his family, including dad David and mum Victoria. The alleged feud is believed to have started when Brooklyn and Nicola, 30, tied the knot three years ago, while fuel was also added to the fire when Nicola and Brooklyn failed to attend David's 50th birthday celebrations last month. An insider has now claimed that Nicola is becoming the ' Taylor Swift ' of the showbiz world and giving 'Vic's circle a run for its money'. An insider has claimed to Closer: 'Nicola's rapidly becoming the new Taylor Swift of the showbiz world and her fast-growing posse of A-list friends is certainly giving Vic's circle a run for its money. She's very much becoming the Queen Bee right now amid all this drama - even Gisele Bündchen, who was at Nicola and Brooklyn's wedding, sends her messages of support.' Nicola has reportedly been 'blown away' by the response from fellow celebrities and has grown her 'inner circle'. They claimed: 'She's got BFF Selena Gomez by her side through all this, and Nicola has been blown away by the amount of friends who've been reaching out, admitting this feud had helped her reconnect with old pals including Kendal Jenner, Gigi Hadid and Hailey Bieber'. The insider added: 'Her newest pal Meghan (Markle) has recently introduced her to Serena Williams, who Nicola clicked with immediately and has been calling and messaging her regularly to check in, knowing first hand how traumatic a public family fall-out can be.' The insider added that Nicola is 'feeling powerful' now that she has her 'A-list circle' around her, and that she is feeling 'equipped to battle it out with her mother-in-law'. The Mirror has contacted Nicola Peltz 's representatives for comment. Meghan Markle and Victoria appeared to be close friends at one time, with Victoria and David famously attending her wedding to Prince Harry. However, their relationship appears to have drifted apart, with the claims that Meghan is now close friends with Nicola. The last confirmed public appearance of Meghan Markle and Victoria Beckham together occurred on December 25, 2018, during the royal family's Christmas Day church service. Since then, there have been no public reports or sightings of Meghan Markle and Victoria Beckham together, suggesting they have drifted apart.

Angelina Jolie's daughter Shiloh reveals new name after snubbing dad Brad Pitt
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's child, born Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt, is now going by a new name. The 19-year-old appeared at the launch of Isabel Marant's capsule collection with Net-A-Porter on Thursday, May 29, in LA. Shiloh was listed as 'Shi Joli' in the event's press release, according to US Weekly. The name, which excludes her father's surname altogether, is seemingly a shortened version of her new legal name. Shi was credited at the event as a choreographer for a dance routine performed by Keoni Rose and Tako Suzuki to singer-songwriter Luella's new song Naïve. Shortly after her 18th birthday in May of last year, Shi filed documents to drop her famous dad's surname amid her parents' ongoing legal battles. She later announced her intention via an advert in the Los Angeles Times, per California law, and attended a hearing in August. According to People Magazine, the teenager was reportedly granted her wish and was legally allowed to change her name to Shiloh Jolie. Although Brad has not spoken publicly about the decision, an insider claimed that he was 'aware and upset' about the move. 'He's aware and upset that Shiloh dropped his last name,' a source told People Magazine. 'The reminders that he's lost his children, is of course not easy for Brad. He loves his children and misses them. It's very sad.' Shi was born in 2006, nearly a year after her parents started dating. Pitt and Jolie also share children Maddox, 23, Pax, 21, Zahara, 20, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 16. Shi isn't the only one of her siblings to drop Pitt as a surname; her sister Zahara publicly introduced herself using only her mother's last name when she joined the sorority Alpha Kappa Alpha at Spelman College. Vivienne also appears to have done the same, with her choice revealed on the playbill for musical The Outsiders, with the credits listing her just as 'Vivienne Jolie.' It remains unclear if any of the children besides Shi have legally changed their names. The news of Shi's name change comes after Pitt's revealing interview for the June issue of GQ magazine, in which he promoted his new movie F1 and addressed the finalization of his divorce from Jolie. 'No, I don't think it was that major of a thing,' Pitt said when asked if he felt any relief after the court proceedings finally wrapped up. 'Just something coming to fruition. Legally.' More Trending That legal journey began in 2016, when Jolie filed for divorce after two years of marriage and more than a decade together. What followed was a highly publicised and often acrimonious separation, encompassing custody disputes, property disagreements, and, more recently, a contentious fight over their jointly-owned French winery, Chateau Miraval. While the divorce was officially finalised in December 2023, many of the issues between the former couple continued to play out in court, casting a long shadow over both of their careers and public images. The legal proceedings were punctuated by allegations of abuse, which Pitt has denied. Got a story?
