Spice Girls' record sales hit £600K as potential 30th anniversary tour looms
The girl group are rumoured to be embarking on a world-wide reunion tour next year. It's been almost 30 years since the Spice Girls first burst onto the pop music scene, and a possible reunion tour is looming. In anticipation of a potential tour, fans have been rediscovering the group's records, which generated more than £600,000 in sales last year. And accounts for their firm Spice Girls Ltd show that they received £613, 275 in royalties for 2023. Spice Girls Ltd also retained more than £32,000 in cash in its coffers. Geri Horner and band guru Simon Fuller are said to be back in touch, with rumours the pair were meeting up in Miami earlier this year, along with Geri's F1 husband. Victoria Beckham is '90 per cent out of the running' but Geri, Emma Bunton, Mel B and Mel C are said to be considering a 30-years anniversary world tour next year, reported the Mirror. There have even been claims that Victoria could appear as an 'avatar', used in the hugely successful Abba shows in London. The Spice Girls' debut single 'Wannabe' was released in 1996 and propelled them to global fame. Their latest accounts suggest a serious demand to see the girls reunite in concert. Mel Brown has teased that a world tour is possible, hinting this week that there could be plans on the horizon for the girls. 'We've got a year to work on them. Let's put it that way,' she said. The group has not performed as a five-piece since the 2012 Olympics Closing Ceremony. In April last year, all five spent an evening together as part of Victoria's 50th birthday celebrations. It added to the hopes that they could be set to get back together again. Band members have spoken openly of that as a possibility for next year. As a guest on Australia 's 2Day FM in March, Mel C said: 'It's 30 years next year since the release of Wannabe. We have to do something special. "Obviously I can't say too much, but we are talking about things. Hopefully a nice little world tour." In April, Geri said: "My hope is we come back together as a collective." Geri said they still had love and respect for each other, again sparking hopes of a reunion. But a reunion tour would likely include all but one of the original Spice Girls, as Victoria Beckham is most likely going to give it a miss. The girls previously toured together in 2020 as a foursome, but Victoria did not take part. She has been in the news recently due to rumours of a feud with son, Brooklyn Beckham, and his wife, Nicola Peltz. The family made headlines as Brooklyn and Nicola pulled a 'no-show' for David Beckham's birthday. Some have accused Peltz of being manipulative towards Brooklyn, and of driving a rift in the Beckham family. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Spice Girls make £600,000 in record sales ahead of rumoured world tour
The Spice Girls' accounts show there is still an appetite for their music amid rumours they are set to reunite for a huge world tour The Spice Girls made more than £600,000 last year from money-spinning record sales - fuelling speculation that there could be a 30th anniversary reunion. Accounts for their firm Spice Girls Ltd show that they received £613, 275 in royalties for 2023. The firm also retained more than £32,000 in cash in its coffers. Victoria Beckham has told pals she is '90 percent out of the running' but Geri, Emma Bunton, Mel B and Mel C are said to be considering a lucrative world tour next year. There have even been claims that Victoria could appear as an 'avatar', used in the hugely successful Abba shows in London. The Spice Girls' debut single 'Wannabe' was released in 1996 and propelled them to global fame. The latest accounts show there is still an appetite for their music, and suggest a demand to see them in concert. Mel Brown has hinted that a world tour is possible. They would follow in the footsteps of Beyonce and Taylor Swift, who enjoyed hugely lucrative ticket sales for their shows. Taylor Swift grossed £1.4bn in ticket sales. Mel, known as Scary Spice, hinted this week that there could be plans on the horizon for the girls. 'We've got a year to work on them. Let's put it that way,' she said. The group has not performed as a five piece since the 2012 Olympics Closing Ceremony. They did a reunion tour in 2019 without Victoria. Victoria Beckham 'snubbed' from Spice Girls reunion tour for very awkward reason
The Spice Girls are reportedly gearing up to celebrate their 30th anniversary of their debut single Wannabe next year – but Posh Spice star Victoria Beckham has reportedly been snubbed The Spice Girls are reportedly gearing up to reunite once again to mark the 30 anniversary of their debut single, Wannabe. However, it has been claimed one big star will be missing from the line-up. Victoria Beckham, who was known as Posh Spice in the band, last performed with the group for the London 2012 Olympics Closing Ceremony, after pleas from her fellow bandmates. But, it has been reported that, this time around, they haven't invited her to join them for the reunion tour. It has been claimed the remaining foursome in the iconic 90s pop group, which comprises of Geri Horner, Emma Bunton, Melanie C and Mel B, are in talks to take to the stage again – but Victoria won't be joining for an awkward reason: the band's manager Simon Fuller, according to reports. It has been claimed that Victoria, 50, and her husband David, who turned 50 in style yesterday, fell out with the music mogul, 64, with relations said to be so dire that the Beckhams 'bought themselves out of their contracts' with his company XIX Entertainment in 2018. A source has claimed to the Daily Mail:"The Spice Girls working with Fuller means that there is absolutely no way that Victoria will be involved at all. "It feels rather bizarre that they would beg Victoria for years and years to join them and now they have him on board, they don't approach her. Maybe they thought there would be no point, as the Beckhams and Fuller no longer have a relationship, it's over." The source also claimed that the band "need a manager" but Simon's involvement "means there is zero chance that Victoria will be involved". They also stated that the other members of the band "know that too" so they "didn't even bother asking her now they are back with Fuller." David Beckham parted ways with Fuller in 2018 after a 15 year working relationship. David and Victoria spent £38million buying Fuller's 33 percent stake of David's businesses to give them total control over Beckham Brand Holdings. Sources claimed at the time that there had been "issues" between the pair with their friendship falling foul of them. Victoria then followed suit and parted ways with Fuller in August 2019. He still has shares in her fashion label but the once close relationship he shared with the Beckhams is no more. The Beckhams reportedly chose to go to Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande's manager Scooter Braun, 38, when their son Cruz wanted to become a pop star, snubbing Fuller despite his excellent track record. An insider explained: "They were all once so close, but various things happened between the Beckhams and Fuller. David and Victoria wanted out and Simon didn't exactly make it easy." They added: "They got there in the end and there has been no looking back. The Spice Girls will know this and have obviously taken their chances and gone with Simon. It's all very odd, because the other girls didn't ever think much of him either."

Mel C breaks her silence on the Spice Girls reunion tour as she reveals one member 'needs more convincing' to take part
Mel C has broken her silence on the upcoming Spice Girls reunion tour, revealing that one member still 'needs more convincing' to take to the stage. It was revealed earlier this week that the iconic girl group would be reuniting for a possible world tour to celebrate 30 years since the release of the debut single Wannabe. It has already been said that Posh Spice, aka Victoria Beckham, is '90 per cent out of the running', with the fashion designer, 51, having not joined the girls on stage since the London 2012 Olympics Closing Ceremony. But in a new interview, Mel C, 51, shared her excitement about the tour and let slip that one other member seemingly wasn't as enthusiastic about picking up the mic again and needed further persuasion. Speaking on the No Filter with Kate Langbroek podcast, Sporty Spice shared: 'Next year is a big year for us and we have to acknowledge it in some way. 'So we are talking about what that's going to look like and for me, Melanie, I know for sure, and Emma [Bunton], we'd be back on stage. But sometimes other people need a little bit more convincing.' Amid her revelation that it was Geri Halliwell-Horner that needed convincing, this further adds to recent reports that Ginger Spice is set to meet with Spice Girls manager Simon Fuller in Miami this weekend to discuss the plans. The singer, 52, recently remained coy about a possible reunion, saying in an interview last month: 'I love the Spice Girls as a whole movement, the tribe of us, and the individual members.' It was thought that the scandal scandal engulfing her husband Christian Horner, who accused of misconduct by a team employee, put Geri off taking part. But with Geri's Red Bull F1 boss Christian gearing up for the latest race in the calendar and with Simon reportedly a racing fan with an invite from Red Bull to attend, it would be the perfect opportunity for the two to chat. Meanwhile, discussing the prospect of all five girls being on stage together for the first time since 2012, Mel added: 'It would be the best thing ever, ever, ever. And sometimes it feels like a duty to the world. 'When we did the shows in 2019, it brought so much joy to so many people. Not everybody likes the Spice Girls but loads of people do. 'We're living in this weird world right now. There's so much negativity and mad s**t going on. Let's all spice up our lives.' Meanwhile, Mel B joked that any important details regarding the tour won't be shared with Mel B as 'she can't keep her mouth shut.' In a new interview, Mel C, 51, shared her excitement about the tour and let slip that one other member seemingly wasn't as enthusiastic and needed further persuasion 'So we are talking about what that's going to look like and for me, Melanie, I know for sure, and Emma [Bunton], we'd be back on stage. But sometimes other people need a little bit more convincing'[Geri pictured] Amid her revelation that it was Geri Halliwell-Horner that needed convincing, this further adds to recent reports that Ginger Spice is set to meet with Spice Girls manager Simon Fuller in Miami this weekend to discuss the plans She quipped: 'We've decided now we're not going to tell Mel anything because she can't keep her mouth shut. 'So don't listen to Mel B because she doesn't know, because we're not telling her.' Since they officially broke up they there have been various rumours that they would reunite - with Mel B recently sharing her enthusiasm again for another tour. Mel C previously hinted that the band could do something special next year to mark the 30-year anniversary of their debut album, Spice. The girl group last toured together in 2020 as a foursome, with only Victoria missing out. While the last time Emma, Mel B, Mel C, Victoria and Geri all performed as a five was during the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics. Speaking to Rebecca Judd On Apple Music 1 in March, Mel C teased: 'There has to be something befitting of 30 years since Wannabe. 'Once a Spice Girl, always a Spice Girl. 'We all feel like that, but we now are getting together because we know if we're going to do anything, we have to start planning things to get things right. 'We have to start making the plans right now and putting them into action. So fingers crossed.' However, she admitted it might be up to her and Mel B to get things moving, saying: 'I think me and Mel B are probably going to be going in there all guns blazing, 'Come on! It's time!''

EXCLUSIVE The shocking reason the Spice Girls have reunited WITHOUT Victoria Beckham: Insiders tell KATIE HIND how the band are back rehearsing and are even planning a tour... but haven't bothered to get in touch with Posh
Since Victoria Beckham last joined the Spice Girls on stage for the London 2012 Olympics Closing Ceremony, it has been their greatest wish that she would once again take part in a reunion. And, so, their courtship of her was, for a considerable amount of time, nothing short of relentless: from begging her in their joint WhatsApp group, to placing pleas in the press - and even trying to get her husband, David, to put in a good word for them. So it may come as a surprise that, as the band are busily trying to put together another reunion tour, there is still one name missing from the line-up: Victoria, the most famous of all the Spice Girls. So what's the reason for her being left out of the band's current project, which they hope will culminate into a string of concerts across the globe next year? The reason can be boiled down to two simple words: Simon Fuller. For after decades of tension and animosity, the four other Spice Girls - Mel B, Mel C, Geri Horner and Emma Bunton - are again back working with their creator and former manager, Fuller, now 64. It's all in the hope that the foursome can embark on a potentially lucrative tour to mark the 30th anniversary of their 1996 debut single, Wannabe, next year. However, while the others have been able to put their differences behind them, Victoria, 50, and husband David have both fallen out with the music mogul. Indeed, relations between the trio became so bad that both Beckhams bought themselves out of their contracts with Simon's XIX Entertainment in 2018. 'The Spice Girls working with Fuller means that there is absolutely no way that Victoria will be involved at all,' said one source close to the band. 'It feels rather bizarre that they would beg Victoria for years and years to join them and now they have him on board, they don't approach her. Maybe they thought there would be no point, as the Beckhams and Fuller no longer have a relationship, it's over. 'While the band need a manager, what this does mean is there is zero chance that Victoria will be involved. Clearly, they know that too so they didn't even bother asking her now they are back with Fuller.' I revealed back in 2018 that David was to part ways with Fuller after more than 15 years of working with him. He and Victoria paid around £38million for Fuller's 33 per cent stake in the former England footballer's businesses, which gave the Beckhams full control of Beckham Brand Holdings, which includes a stake in the US-based football club Inter Miami FC. Sources close to both men said at the time there had been some 'issues' between them, and their once close friendship had very much come to an end. Then, in August 2019, Victoria also ditched Fuller, who had managed her up until then. He and Victoria paid around £38million for Fuller's 33 per cent stake in the former England footballer's businesses, which gave the Beckhams full control of Beckham Brand Holdings, which includes a stake in the US-based football club Inter Miami FC While he remains a shareholder in her fashion label, there is no love lost between the Beckhams and Fuller - so much so that they put the kibosh on him managing their youngest son Cruz, whom they had hoped would become a pop star in his own right. Sources close to the couple say they opted instead for Scooter Braun, 38, the man behind Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande, in a bid to ensure that Cruz had someone 'younger and fresher' to manage him. 'They were all once so close, but various things happened between the Beckhams and Fuller,' a source told me. 'David and Victoria wanted out and Simon didn't exactly make it easy. 'They got there in the end and there has been no looking back. 'The Spice Girls will know this and have obviously taken their chances and gone with Simon. It's all very odd, because the other girls didn't ever think much of him either.' Indeed they didn't. Even some of Fuller's own staff were taken aback when he jetted in from Los Angeles to cheer the band on for the opening night of their last reunion tour at Dublin's Croke Park stadium in 2019. Because while he may have catapulted the group to global fame back in the mid-90s, they ditched Fuller for those 2019 gigs in which they appeared as a foursome, amid suggestions that he was 'too old fashioned' to mastermind their comeback. Instead, they chose Modest Management, the London-based firm that managed the likes of One Direction and Little Mix. Adding to the surprise of Fuller - 'yesterday's man', as some in their circle dubbed him - being back at the helm is also the years-long on/off animosity between him and the Spice Girls. Not to mention the fall outs that have also occurred between the girls themselves. One source close to the singers tells me. 'They ditched Fuller last time as they thought he was out of touch and not the right person to make their tour work. It was pretty brutal but they didn't want him involved then. 'They have spent months trying to find a new manager but the job is a nightmare, particularly because of the turbulent friendship between Mel B and Geri. So what should have been seen as a great job is actually very hard because of the constant warring between them. 'Now they have found their way back to Fuller and it all feels very dire. You can't help but think that this is all going to end in tears.' Indeed, without his management, the last tour did well, selling 700,000 tickets across 13 sold-out stadium shows in the UK and Ireland, making each Spice Girl £4.4million each. But after months of trying - and failing - to find a manager in a bid to recreate that success, the fact that Fuller has been asked to oversee the new reunion tour may illustrate how keen some of the group are on making yet another comeback. Mel C has been hinting at plans for a 2026 reunion. Speaking on Australia's 2Day FM in March, she said: 'We have to do something special. Obviously, I can't say too much but we are talking about things. Hopefully, a nice little world tour.' But Geri stayed more coy when asked last week about a reunion. She said: 'I love the Spice Girls as a movement, the tribe of us and the individual members.' It was revealed this week that Fuller and Geri are to meet up on Sunday, May 4, in Miami to 'thrash out a deal'. Geri's husband Christian Horner is the boss of Formula 1 racing team Red Bull, while Simon is a huge fan and a regular in the pit lane at grand prix around the world. This weekend they will come face to face at the Miami race as Fuller has an invitation from Red Bull. Indeed, the reality is that even Geri's participation in the reunion appeared to be touch and go for a while, but now looks to be on a relatively firmer footing. I'm told the scandal engulfing her husband, who accused of misconduct by a team employee, apparently sending her sexually suggestive messages, put Geri off taking part. However, with the publication of her children's books, Geri appears to again be enjoying a taste of fame, and those close to the band suggest her taste for the limelight has returned. Potential pitfalls abound, however, even if the reunion deal comes off. Geri's fall-out with Mel B remains an issue: the two women had a monumental fallout after Mel B told Piers Morgan in a 2019 television interview that she had had an intimate relationship with Geri in the band's early days. Geri was deeply upset by the bombshell, for which Mel has apparently never apologised. This alone would make for a bumpy return to the road for the tour, never mind the rest. 'There are times when the two of them haven't been able to be in the same room,' said a Spice Girls insider. 'They have had some crazy fall outs which is really hard for the others. 'If they can pull this tour off it will be nothing short of a miracle.'
