RJ Karishma talks about characters, content, and creativity: "Comedy runs in the blood.."

With her endearing characters, unmatched
comic timing
, and everyday relatability, Karishma Gangwal, or popularly known as
RJ Karishma
, has emerged as one of the most beloved content creators. She started her professional journey as a radio presenter, but gradually, she found her calling in front of the camera. Her
storytelling skills
via multiple relatable characters have garnered a lot of appreciation. And now with her OTT debut, '
Bright भविष्य Loading
,' she has unfolded another chapter of her life. Speaking about the same, in an exclusive interview with us, she spilled the beans on juggling with multiple characters, her inspiration, and the support system.
Highlighting how seamlessly she switches between multiple characters in the series, Karishma said, 'When I was 5 years old, I used to wear my mom's sarees and act in front of the mirror. Now, I feel like these things helped me prepare. Plus, all my characters have their inspiration from real people. So just mentally picturing them helps me play these roles.'
From radio jockeying to digital content creation
Speaking about her transition, Karishma said, 'It's been such an unexpected but fulfilling journey. I started as an RJ, and in the pandemic, I experimented with content creation. At first, I was hesitant and wasn't sure how people would react. However, the very first video I made hit a million views within 3 days.'
She continued, 'I was so glad to know that people wanted to know more about the stories I was telling. From there on, being a full-time creator was always on the cards and today I'm so happy to be living my dream both on and off the camera.'
As we spoke further, she enlightened us about her creative process that entails gratitude, passion, and teamwork. 'This doesn't feel like a job to me. I wake up every morning, grateful that I'm doing what I'm passionate about. Hence, switching between these roles is only a pleasure,' she mentioned, and then continued, 'Apart from this, I have a team that fills every gap and makes sure that there are consistent solutions whenever we have a brand on board.'
'I'm not the kind of person who locks herself in a room and thinks of ideas. I get my inspiration from the people around me, and that's why I keep moving out and about. Don't be surprised if we meet and after that you see a character that vaguely resembles you on my feed,' she laughed.
Further, when asked who or what inspires her comedic style and storytelling approach, she had the most endearing reply - 'Believe it or not, but 'Comedy' runs in the blood of every family member of mine.'
'I hope someday you get to meet them and experience this yourself. Every single line in the simplest conversation is hilarious. When I was a kid, I used to love watching Amitji in KBC. His comedic delivery with the poker face is something I love, and I occasionally try to include it in my content,' she concluded.

KBC 17 contestant Aditya Kumar: ‘Being praised by Amitabh Bachchan is as big as winning Rs 1 crore'

Aditya Kumar, who created history by becoming the first contestant to win Rs 1 crore on Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 17, recently opened up about his thrilling journey on the hot seat, his first meeting with Amitabh Bachchan, and the feeling of crossing the Rs 1 crore milestone. Excerpts from the conversation: What kind of preparation helped you perform well in the game? Discipline, patience, and the ability to stay calm under pressure. KBC also proves that knowledge and intelligence can truly change your life. What do you consider the toughest moment on the show? Definitely the Rs 1 crore question. Even if you know the answer, the weight of that amount can shake your confidence. I had to pause, breathe, and trust myself. That faith is what made the difference. What was your very first interaction with Amitabh Bachchan like? Honestly, I was awestruck. His aura is extraordinary—warm, respectful, and reassuring. I thought I'd be nervous, but the way he spoke to me felt like I was talking to someone I'd known for years. Many people dream of meeting Amitabh Bachchan. How did you experience him beyond the glamour? He has a magnetic presence, but what really touched me was his humility. He asked me about my life, encouraged me when the pressure was high, and praised me for playing with knowledge instead of guesswork. Honestly, that praise felt like a bigger prize than the money itself. What emotions did you feel when you saw Rs 1 crore flashing on the screen? It wasn't just about the money—it was about proving that preparation, calmness, and belief can take you far. Rs 1 crore is a milestone, but the real goal is Rs 7 crore. Viewers will see me play boldly because, for me, the journey itself is the biggest win. What's the first thing you want to do after winning? I want to share this joy with my unit at UTPS Ukai, Gujarat. My family is also here now. They've been my constant support, and this victory belongs to them as much as it does to me. Season 17 of Kaun Banega Crorepati airs Monday through Friday on Sony Entertainment Television. The show also streams on SonyLIV. All eyes will be on Aditya as he attempts the Rs 7 crore jackpot question on August 19.
