Formedics Names Vincent Muehter as President to Lead Growth of HCP Collaboration Platform

BASKING RIDGE, N.J., March 12, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Formedics, a leading healthcare professional (HCP) collaboration platform, today announced that its board of directors has named Vincent Muehter as President, effective March 1, 2025. With over 20 years of experience in healthcare marketing, digital strategy, and commercial analytics, Mr. Muehter will focus on accelerating growth by spearheading new go-to-market strategies, innovative peer-driven HCP engagement products, and impactful omnichannel opportunities for pharmaceutical brands. He will report to Greg Jackson, CEO of Formedics.
In his role, Mr. Muehter will leverage his expertise in helping pharmaceutical companies, ranging from industry leaders to emerging biotech firms, achieve growth throughout their product lifecycles. Under his leadership, Formedics will strengthen its peer communities -- where HCPs exchange real-time insights -- while offering pharmaceutical brands access to 1.5 million verified, targeted healthcare professionals.
'Vincent's expertise in digital transformation makes him the ideal leader to accelerate Formedics' expansion,' said Mr. Jackson. This strategy enables brands to align their messaging with trusted HCP-generated insights, ensuring their presence in highly relevant and impactful learning environments.
Building on the strengths of Figure 1's user-generated case collaboration, Mashup Media's specialized peer communities, and Physician's Weekly's robust point-of-care access, Mr. Muehter will launch an integrated platform that leverages AI-driven analytics to enhance HCP engagement. This new platform will provide seamless access to HCPs across digital, live, and in-office channels to establish it as a premier destination for professional collaboration and learning.
'Formedics is cultivating a dynamic peer-driven community where HCPs can learn, connect, collaborate, and debate alongside top experts, influential digital and key opinion leaders, and niche peer communities,' said Mr. Muehter. 'We're driving real-time knowledge exchange to support informed decision-making and improved patient care. At the same time, we're giving pharma brands a cutting-edge, integrated approach to peer-driven engagement. I'm excited to help shape Formedics' next chapter.'
Before joining Formedics, Mr. Muehter founded Avica Health Marketing, a consultancy specializing in omnichannel marketing for healthcare companies and agencies. Previously, he spent nearly two decades at WebMD, most recently serving as Group General Manager and Senior Vice President. At WebMD, he led commercial strategy, operations, and product innovation across its network of HCP properties, including Medscape, Frontline/MDEdge, /alert Marketing, MNG, and Paid Market Research. His tenure was marked by substantial revenue growth and strategic acquisitions that expanded Medscape's digital engagement capabilities. AI leaders have a new term for the fact that their models are not always so intelligent

Progress is rarely linear, and AI is no exception. As academics, independent developers, and the biggest tech companies in the world drive us closer to artificial general intelligence — a still hypothetical form of intelligence that matches human capabilities — they've hit some roadblocks. Many emerging models are prone to hallucinating, misinformation, and simple errors. Google CEO Sundar Pichai referred to this phase of AI as AJI, or "artificial jagged intelligence," on a recent episode of Lex Fridman's podcast. "I don't know who used it first, maybe Karpathy did," Pichai said, referring to deep learning and computer vision specialist Andrej Karpathy, who cofounded OpenAI before leaving last year. AJI is a bit of a metaphor for the trajectory of AI development — jagged, marked at once by sparks of genius and basic mistakes. "You see what they can do and then you can trivially find they make numerical errors or counting R's in strawberry or something, which seems to trip up most models," Pichai said. "I feel like we are in the AJI phase where dramatic progress, some things don't work well, but overall, you're seeing lots of progress." In 2010, when Google DeepMind launched, its team would talk about a 20-year timeline for AGI, Pichai said. Google subsequently acquired DeepMind in 2014. Pichai thinks it'll take a little longer than that, but by 2030, "I would stress it doesn't matter what that definition is because you will have mind-blowing progress on many dimensions." By then the world will also need a clear system for labeling AI-generated content to "distinguish reality," he said. "Progress" is a vague term, but Pichai has spoken at length about the benefits we'll see from AI development. At the UN's Summit of the Future in September 2024, he outlined four specific ways that AI would advance humanity — improving access to knowledge in native languages, accelerating scientific discovery, mitigating climate disaster, and contributing to economic progress.

Huma launches genAI clinical documentation tool

British healthtech company Huma Therapeutics has initiated the global launch of Hi Scribe, a generative AI (genAI) clinical documentation tool designed to automate and streamline the creation of clinical notes. Powered by over 60 million consultations conducted by eConsult, which Huma acquired last year, Hi Scribe is available through the Huma Cloud Platform (HCP), providing real time clinical documentation automation and the generation of structured clinical notes that can be directly integrated into electronic health record (EHR) systems. Hi Scribe is already launched in the UK to 870 practices, covering around 10 million patients, with write-back and coding capabilities for the EHR systems EMIS and SystmOne. Now rolling out across more than 4,500 health systems and clinics powered by Huma technologies, worldwide, Huma CEO and founder Dan Vahdat stated that administrative burdens such as process compliance and accurate billing remain some of the 'greatest challenges' facing healthcare systems globally. 'Hi Scribe gives clinicians critical time back, allowing them to focus on what matters most: their patients,' said Vahdat. Initiation of the tool's global launch follows the UK's National Health Service (NHS) England guidance around using AI-enabled scribing products in healthcare settings that was issued in April. Relating to best practices surrounding controls and implementation, the NHS guidelines advise healthcare systems to integrate such AI products with their principal EHR system and to ensure legal and regulatory requirements are factored into the procurement and implementation of their chosen products. Dr Murray Ellender, head of UK Healthcare at Huma commented: 'By leveraging genAI with strong regulatory governance, we are ensuring safe, effective, and efficient care. We are excited in the near future to start helping care providers with intelligent suggestions for next steps — ensuring that nothing is left unnoticed.' Huma recently announced a partnership with growth equity company Eckuity to support its development of technology infrastructure to support ongoing plans to acquire companies and launch digital solutions across the healthcare space. "Huma launches genAI clinical documentation tool" was originally created and published by Medical Device Network, a GlobalData owned brand. Ant International launches new AI platform for fintech sector

Ant International has introduced the new AI platform, Alipay+ GenAI Cockpit, to enhance financial services for fintech companies and super apps. This AI-as-a-Service (AIaaS) platform is designed to facilitate the development of AI-driven financial services. The Alipay+ GenAI Cockpit is intended to assist businesses in creating AI-native financial services by integrating automated workflows and task orchestration across various fintech operations. These include payment orchestration, customer onboarding, compliance checks, fraud detection, and dispute resolution. The platform has been developed based on Ant International's core business units, including Alipay+, Antom, WorldFirst, and global treasury management services. Following successful trials, the platform is set to be deployed by its first external clients in Southeast Asia and South Asia in June this year. The Alipay+ GenAI Cockpit utilises more than 20 leading large language models (LLMs) and incorporates fintech-specific knowledge bases to enhance the precision of AI agents. The platform also includes Antom Copilot, an AI agent designed to assist merchants in optimising payment integration and managing risk strategies through natural language processing. Additionally, the Cockpit features a variety of pre-built agents for tasks such as customer service and marketing content curation, while allowing for customisation to meet specific business needs. The platform supports deployment across public clouds and on-premise environments. Ant International chief innovation officer Jiangming Yang said: 'The future of finance will be shaped by agentic AI that not only carry out tasks autonomously in real automated workflows and sophisticated financial business and compliance context with reliability, but also interact, evolve and learn rapidly in orchestration with ever-growing precision.' The company has noted a significant rise in AI-related scams, with 22% of businesses reporting incidents of AI-generated payment fraud. To address these risks, Ant International has implemented its AI SHIELD framework, which provides real-time risk assessments and employs over 100 recognition models to detect potential threats. In July 2024, BNP Paribas and Ant International partnered to improve cross-border payment solutions for European merchants and consumers.
