'Superfine: Tailoring Black Style' had officially arrived at the Met.
The first Monday in May is reserved for the Met Gala, rain or shine — and this year it was a downpour for most of the day. The umbrellas celebrities use to hide their looks from photographers en route suddenly proved more useful.

Cohosts Lewis Hamilton, in Wales Bonner, and Pharrell Williams, in his own design for Louis Vuitton, were early arrivals. Williams' publicist Amanda Silverman informed the crowd his jacket was made of 15,000 pearls and took 400 hours to construct, as he began his hosting duties.
Zendaya, a host of last year's gala, sneaked up the stairs relatively unnoticed in her Louis Vuitton suit. She spotted Diana Ross and was rather starstruck, refusing to steal the icon's spotlight despite photographers yelling for a joint photo.
'It's such a vintage gown, I've had it forever,' Ross said nonchalantly as she walked up the stairs.
'You look fabulous!' Keke Palmer, in Vera Wang, gushed to Sergio Hudson.
'Narrate it for me!' Miley Cyrus called out to reporters as she posed.
'I'm making a TikTok,' Lizzo said as she pulled out her phone. 'Damn it got quiet when I said that.'
Cynthia Erivo, in Sarah Burton's first Givenchy couture look, beamed as she ran into Marc Jacobs. Jacobs' date, Doja Cat, ran over to join the pair, upon which Erivo immediately began fawning over Doja's sky-high shoes.
'You're not the only one who sends me shoe ideas,' Jacobs told Erivo.
Nicole Kidman, in Balenciaga, was spotted at Charli XCX's concert over the weekend, and while on the Met steps broke out into a bit of the famed 'apple dance.'
'I hope it's a good night,' she said.
Part of the joy of the Met carpet is all the unexpected celebrity interactions. Where else do you see Kidman walking past Stevie Wonder and Jalen Hurts, Walton Goggins embracing A$AP Rocky, and Lorde and Bad Bunny waiting their turns for interviews?
'White Lotus' stars Aimee Lou Wood and Patrick Schwarzenegger reunited on the carpet and posed for photos together. Nnamdi Asomugha filmed wife Kerry Washington as she bopped around the carpet.
Balmain's Olivier Rousteing was carrying a sewing machine as he walked up with Rosalía, before knocking it slightly.
'I broke my sewing machine!' he said.
'It did its job,' Rosalia replied to him, motioning to her dress.

Dakota Johnson Makes the Case for Sheer Shapewear—Two Days in a Row

When we think of summer trends, shapewear isn't exactly at the top of our list. But this week, for two days in a row, Dakota Johnson has waged a campaign to change our minds. Yesterday, despite the summery temps, Johnson opted for an all-black, leather-heavy look. She wore a knee-length black leather Balenciaga coat over a sheer black bodysuit with a plunging V-neck and a center seam. A proponent of the bootcut revival, she added a pair of black, raw-hem jeans and black Khaite Colt wedge mules. While the coat could easily read Matrix, Johnson's slinky bodysuit, on-trend jeans, and cat-eye sunglasses helped it avoid costume territory. Dakota Johnson in New York, June 1 TheStewartofNY June 2 Aeon The day prior, amidst press for her forthcoming film Materialists, Johnson modeled a different way to rock a sheer bodysuit. Styled by Kate Young, she wore her transparent scoopneck Commando shapewear underneath a strong-shouldered Khaite jacket in a latte-colored suede, and tucked into a pair of light-wash straight-leg jeans. And, like her sheer shapewear, she also stayed loyal to her Khaite shoes. With summer just around the corner, wearing leather and suede may seem like a recipe for overheating. But by pairing heavier fabrics with sheer underpinnings, Dakota Johnson is forging a warm-weather trend without retiring her winter outerwear.

Woman Adopts Two Rescue Sister Cats, What Happens in First Week Goes Viral

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A newly adopted pair of cat sisters have melted hearts on social media after a heartwarming video of their first week in their new home went viral. The clip shared on TikTok on Saturday, under the username @lillylucysisters, shows the two tabby cats, Lilly and Lucy, curled up in their owner's arms, purring with joy as they nap there together. "Imagine adopting two rescue sister cats... and this happens in the very first week. Can you imagine what my heart feels like?" reads layover text in the clip. And a caption says: "My heart was exploding." Adopting two cats from the same litter is a big decision that can go either way. They can provide each other with companionship and prevent loneliness, though this depends on their individual personality. A Catster article, medically reviewed by Dr. Maja Platisa, explains that kittens from around three to four weeks of age tend to get along up until they reach social maturity, between two and five years, after that things can change. Sister cats may bond closely or prefer solitude, with some engaging in cuddling and grooming, and others merely tolerating each other. Brother cats often compete for leadership. They can either become inseparable or have endless conflicts. The advantages of adopting two kittens from the same litter include having constant companionship, entertainment, warmth, and grooming, but most importantly always having a play mate by their side. To keep tension between them at bay, make sure they each have their own litter-boxes, and food and water bowls. You can also use pheromones to make the atmosphere in the house more chilled for them. One user, XENA, said: "Can you imagine what my heart feels like watching this with a cat who hates physical touch?! JEALOUS." wrote: "Hi! Just so you know, this is actually really dangerous because your heart may actually melt and/or cease to beat at the proper rhythm because of how sweet they are. Be careful!!" Rachcondi added: "This is all I want from my non affectionate cat but she looks at me like she is plotting my death." Newsweek reached out to @lillylucysisters for comment via email. ‘Holy Airball' Is a New Teen Slang Term That Actually Makes Sense

If you've been seeing 'holy airball' (sometimes with an f-bomb thrown in the middle) all over TikTok, then you might feel a little lost. Is this new teen trend something dirty? Something confusing or complicated to explain like Gurt? It's hard to keep up with the youths these days! Luckily for us, holy airball is a term that actually makes sense once it's broken down. One mom on TikTok @_bekahshopp20_ asked, 'what tf does #holyfknairball mean? Like I feel extremely confused.' In the comments, people came through for her, explaining that an airball is a term used in basketball. More from SheKnows Forget Summer School - These Free Harvard Courses Let Teens Explore Their Passions at Their Own Pace 'An airball is when you shoot a basketball but it doesn't go in/ it isn't close to the net at all,' one person explained. 'So the trend is about someone shooting their shot and being rejected (not making the shot). I hope that makes sense lol' Another person explained, 'in TikTok just like in basketball it means a misinterpretation or like a completely different thing from what ur talking about (basically a miss ).' Know Your Meme explained that the term derived from expressions of shock like 'holy cow,' using it to mean a huge misunderstanding of something another person told them. So in the trend, teens are sharing stories of how they are talking about something, and someone else completely misinterprets what they meant. It's usually joking or exaggerated stories, accompanied by Jeezy's 'Soul Survivor' on TikTok and usually accompanied by pictures or videos of the receipts to make it even funnier. Like this TikToker, who wrote, 'told her I love cheating.' Then, 'She said, 'me too I cheated on my ex.'' Then he shared a picture of his phone with test answers on it, showing that he was talking about cheating at school and not in relationships, adding '#holyfknairball' Another girl wrote, 'Told him I was going on a run. He said, 'oh I love girls who do cardio.'' She added, 'Holy air ball … I'm going on a run for Taco Bell,' with a picture of her holding a bag of tacos. Even celebrities have gotten in on the trend, like Julianne Hough. The Dancing with the Stars pro wrote, 'Told him I like to dance. He said 'oh cute, as a kid?'' '#HOLYAIRBALL' she added, with a video montage of her professionally dancing now. Teen slang is confusing for those of us born in the 1900s, so we've compiled a handy guide of all things we've heard Gen Z saying online and IRL.
