According to the court documents obtained by FOX59, the investigation into Soni began on May 12 when the cops received an anonymous tip that Soni was conspiring to murder his wife. The tipster said Soni asked his employees at the Compass Property Group where he could get a silencer, and the murder was supposed to take place on May 16. Soni was also seen picking up a wig from the residence of an employee, the tipster told the cops.
The employee whose help Soni asked for confided in the tipster that Soni had previously asked them if they were willing to kill his wife and how much money they would take. The employee, according to the tipster, agreed to help Soni and adviced how he could take his cell phone to a different location when the murder would take place.
The police contacted the employee and they agreed to cooperate with the police but the employee alerted Soni that cops were after him.
Salty smoothie, poison from India to kill wife
The investigators talked to Soni to find out whether she had been poisoned before. The wife told them that she had severe nerve pain in November 2024. She told the investigators that on one occasion, she thought her smoothie tasted salty. And another day, she found a white clumpy substance in one of her smoothies and when she brought this up with her husband, Darshan told her it might be the detergent.
The employee whose help Darshan sought told the police that Darshan told him earlier that he had purchased some type of poison from India.

Sojni was obsessively reading a book called "Rise and Kill First", the employee said.
Cops then installed a GPS device and an audio recording device on the employee who was going to meet Darshan. In the recorded conversation, Soni said there had been no divorces in his family for several generations and he did not want his kids to have to go through that. Soni was arrested on May 16 and was transported to the Hamilton County Jail.

IndiGo bars man who hit a co-passenger on plane flying from Mumbai to Kolkata from its flights

NEW DELHI: IndiGo has barred a passenger who had assaulted a co-flyer on an aircraft headed from Mumbai to Kolkata Friday, from all its flights indefinitely. "Following due diligence, the incident involving an unruly customer has been formally reported to the relevant authorities for necessary action. In line with our commitment to discourage such unruly behaviour onboard flights, the individual has been suspended from flying on any IndiGo flights, in accordance with regulatory provisions," IndiGo said Saturday. Now it is upto other Indian airlines whether they also decide on doing the same with the accused till the due legal process of putting him on the national no fly list is taken. Before this provision for unruly flyers was in place, state-owned Air India, under its then CMD Ashwani Lohani had about a decade back had barred at least two people, including an MP, from its flights. At that time, other airlines had also decided to do the same for these people. The no fly list in India was enacted after these instances. IndiGo had initiated legal action against the unruly flyer on Saturday itself after the aircraft landed in Kolkata. So apart from being put on no fly list, there is likely to be other action too against the assaulter. The Bidhannagar Police said on X: "On Aug 1, 2025, a complaint was received from IndiGo regarding two Indian male passengers who were travelling on flight 6E-138 from Mumbai to Kolkata. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like (1) Activate Antivirus License Now Click Here During the flight, a heated altercation ensued between the two, following which Hafijul Rahaman slapped the other, Hossain Ahmed Majumder). The victim had suffered a panic attack when the aircraft was taxiing in Mumbai. He started sobbing and walking in the aisle, requesting to be allowed to alight from the plane. At this time a passenger is seen slapping this person as he was passing by his seat in videos of the assault that went viral on social media. The aircraft then took off for its destination and had an uneventful flight,' said people in the know. "At IndiGo, the safety and well-being of our customers and crew remain our foremost priority. (PTI Photo) The overnight encounter began after security forces launched a cordon and search operation in a forest area at Akhal in the south Kashmir district, following specific intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists there. After an initial exchange of fire between the two sides on Friday evening, the operation was halted for the night, the officials said. The cordon was strengthened, and additional reinforcements were rushed to the area. Firing resumed on Saturday morning, during which two terrorists were killed, the officials said. The identity and group affiliation of the slain terrorists are being ascertained, they added, noting that the operation is still underway. Operation Akhal is the third major encounter in the last seven days. Earlier on Wednesday, two terrorists were eliminated during Operation Shivshakti, in a gunfight with security forces near the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district, following an infiltration attempt. The encounter began on Tuesday night in the Kalsian-Gulpur area after Indian forces intercepted a group of terrorists attempting to infiltrate the border. On July 28, three Pakistani terrorists were killed during an encounter in J&K's forested Lidwas area near Harwan, located on the outskirts of Srinagar. The operation named 'Operation Mahadev' eliminated the terrorists who were behind the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack. One of the terrorists was identified as Suleiman, the mastermind of the Pahalgam attack, while the others were identified as Afghan and Jibran. All three were senior operatives of the Pakistan-based banned group Lashkar-e-Toiba. (With PTI inputs)
