The film centers on Gerda, who sets off into the great unknown in search of her friend Kai, who has mysteriously vanished, reports variety.com.

On her journey, Gerda makes friends with people, birds, beasts, and a kind witch, unaware that a hostile, unseen enemy - the Snow Queen and her devil apprentice, Louie - is watching her.
The evil queen keeps Kai prisoner in her ice palace way up north in Finnmark, Norway.
Mikkelsen will lend his voice to the character of Severin, the father of Kai. Severin is a figure who "embodies wisdom, sorrow and the timeless magic of storytelling," according to a statement.
As a carpenter, he builds his son a beautiful sled for Christmas and grieves when the sled and the boy vanish. The film is being sold in Cannes by Studio 100 Film, and will be screened on May 13 in the Marche du Film.
Norwegian composer Rolf Lovland contributed the original song "Finding You," performed by Norwegian pop singer Maria Arredondo.
"This lyrical ballad reflects the themes of longing and connection that lie at the heart of the film's journey," the statement added.

Mikkelsen rose to fame in Denmark as an actor for his roles such as Tonny in the first two films of the Pusher film trilogy, Detective Sergeant Allan Fischer in the television series Rejseholdet, Niels in Open Hearts, Svend in The Green Butchers, Ivan in Adam's Apples and Jacob Petersen in After the Wedding.

But people are underestimating the power of Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR combination. I believe, they will create havoc at the box office," says Komal Nahta to NDTV. When Rajinikanth Spoke About NTR, Jr NTR's Grandfather N T Rama Rao Jr AKA Jr NTR is the grandson of Indian matinee idol and former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N. T. Rama Rao. A couple of months ago, Rajinikanth attended a special event, held to commemorate NTR's centenary celebrations. Rajinikanth recalled his fond memories of late NTR and how he shaped him as an actor from the age of six. "I was six when I saw NTR for the first time on the silver screen in the film Pathala Bhairavi. I was so mesmerised; I couldn't forget his performance. It feels like fate that years later when I would join films, the first word I would utter in front of the camera was Bhairavi. Two years after that, when I was getting good roles as a villain, I was offered to play the lead. I wasn't interested because it's a huge responsibility to shoulder a film. But I said yes because the film was titled Bhairavi," said Rajinikanth. He also recounted when he first saw him in person in Bengaluru. "I was 13 when I first saw him in person in Bengaluru for the silver jubilee celebrations of Lava Kusa. I was hoisted up by someone so I could catch a glimpse of him, he looked so stylish in a silk shirt with cooling glasses on. At 16, I watched him play Duryodhana in Sri Krishna Pandaveeyam. When I became a bus conductor at 18, I channeled him during a drama competition at work to play Duryodhana. I got a rousing response, and my friends told me I could be a good actor too," he recalled. About Coolie And War 2 Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Coolie marks Rajinikanth's 171st film. The movie also features Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan, Upendra, Soubin Shahir and Sathyaraj in key roles. Param Sundari trailer: The trailer for Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor's upcoming rom-com drama Param Sundari was released on Tuesday. The two-minute-forty-second video offers a glimpse of a sweet, lighthearted North-meets-South love story. Showcasing cultural diversity in a vibrant manner, the film features Sidharth as Punjabi boy Param and Janhvi as South Indian girl Sundari. Directed by Tushar Jalota, Param Sundari promises to bring back the charm of old-school Bollywood romance. The clip opens with Param and Sundari playfully flirting in a church. She's a dancer from Kerala, while he hails from Delhi. Their lively bond is sprinkled with filmy references—until she accuses him of toying with everyone's emotions, forcing him to prove otherwise.
