Govt nod awaited to hold 1st Happiness Survey in MP
Bhopal: After being on hold for eight years, the happiness department sought the nod of the state govt to carry out the happiness survey. Eight years ago, in May 2017, the govt decided to measure the well-being of the people in the state by conducting a happiness survey.
It was to be conducted by the happiness department, the first such department in the country. The govt signed an MoU with IIT-Kharagpur for the development of a happiness index to measure the well-being of people. The questionnaire for the survey was ready, but it was deferred for different reasons, including assembly and general elections. The happiness department said it is ready, and once the nod of the govt comes, the process to carry out the survey would be conducted.
Over 80 experts from different parts of the globe brainstormed in Bhopal, but the survey could not take off. Officials of the happiness department informed that they can conduct the survey in two months' time after getting the go-ahead from the govt. A short training would be held for surveyors, and they would be sent to the district to carry out the survey. Officials said, as per the initial plan, 10,000 people would be surveyed in all districts of MP.

CM Yadav proposed that every district should have a dedicated centre or building for ideological and creative activities, with the involvement of related departments. He stated that the lives of citizens should be both materially prosperous and joyful, noting that a peaceful individual contributes to the development of a happy and prosperous society.
Officials said CM Mohan Yadav has also given instructions for the training of thousands of govt employees to be part of Ujjain Simhastha 2028 management. The happiness department officials said training of employees as part of Ujjain Simhastha was to teach them how to be helpful and kind during long hours of stressful duty during Simhastha.

The bill was introduced by Senators Julie Pazina, Dina Neal, Edgar Flores, Melanie Scheible, and Lisa Krasner, and Assemblymembers Erica P. Roth and Duy Nguyen. The bill permits religious displays upon dwellings that are no larger than 12' x 36'. The bill also requires maintenance workers to store religious displays in a way that preserves its sanctity. 'This bill is a significant win for Nevada Hindus because it ensures residents' right not only to observe their Hindu faith unencumbered, but also to bless their homes and everyone who enters them with the display of a toran, as their faith calls them to," HAF managing director Samir Kalra said. The law will come into force on October 1, 2025. The bill overrides any homeowner association (HOA) or residential restrictions that might prohibit such displays, thereby safeguarding the religious practices of Nevada residents. Ahmedabad: As flames devoured their building, a young mother clutched her sleeping children, unsure if they would live to see another day. In the chaos following Thursday's Air India Dreamliner crash, it was not emergency services but a father's desperate dash through fire that saved his family. Dr Pratik Chaudhary, a urologist at Civil Hospital, lives on the second floor of Atylyam 4 with his wife Himani, their one-and-a-half-year-old son, his elderly parents, and his sister and her three-year-old daughter. At the time of the crash, Himani, both children, her sister, and Chaudhary's father were at home. "I was just scrolling through my phone while the children were asleep," said Himani. "Then, out of nowhere, there was a loud blast. Within seconds, we were surrounded by fire and smoke. Everything turned dark. We couldn't see or breathe."
