#SHOWBIZ: Dancer Lee Kai Yin shares first photo of face since 2022 'Mirror accident'
The 30-year-old was critically injured in July 2022 when a huge LED screen fell on him during a concert by the popular Hong Kong boy band Mirror at the Hong Kong Coliseum.
Lee sustained a severe spinal injury and remained in critical condition for over a month.
Reports at the time indicated he faced the possibility of paralysis from the neck down.
Hong Kong media have since reported that he has left the territory to continue his treatment overseas.
On July 23, Lee posted several photos on Instagram, including one of himself in a wheelchair.
Although filters were used on his face, the tattoos on his chest and one of his arms matched those in his older photographs.
A scar was visible near his collarbone in the latest photo, likely caused by a tracheostomy tube in his neck.
"It's me!" he wrote.
"I was encouraged by what the daughter of an optical shop owner said yesterday, so I'm going to share some of the little things that have made me feel good lately and see if I can pick up energy from you all."
His girlfriend, So Ching, a former member of the Hong Kong girl group Collar, reposted his update on Instagram Stories, adding: "If I were half as strong as him."
In December 2024, Lee posted his first photo from the hospital on Instagram, showing only his hand, with his father, Pastor Derek Li, beside him.
"Probably the only human being who loves me so much and actually cares about my every nanometre bit of improvement every single day," Lee had written then.

The 35-year-old artiste said that she hadn't intended to keep her pregnancy a secret, but was waiting for the opportune moment to share the happy news with her followers on Instagram. "I discovered I was six weeks pregnant when we returned from our honeymoon in New Zealand earlier this year. "However, my husband and I decided to wait and announce the good news in Bali, Indonesia, and create some social media content there. We just got back from Bali yesterday. "We decided to make the announcement because many people had been speculating, and all our family members on both sides had also been informed of this happy news," she told Harian Metro. "I also didn't have any specific cravings at the beginning of my pregnancy; I just ate a lot of things like rice and carbohydrates. "In terms of gender, we haven't done any testing yet, and we don't mind whether it's a boy or a girl. What's most important is that the baby is born healthy and has good character," she said. Meanwhile, Siti Saleha mentioned that she is currently completing the remaining filming for the drama series 'Bad Cop', directed by Jason Chong, before taking an extended break to focus on preparing for motherhood. Previously, a video went viral showing the actress wearing a black dress while attending a film event. Fans claimed to have spotted a 'baby bump', sparking speculation that she was pregnant.
