Who is Luis Leon? Chilean national wrongfully deported to Guatemala found alive; family misinformed about his death
Trump's immigrant crackdown's latest victim turns out to be an 82-year-old Chilean national from Allentown, Pennsylvania, named Luis Leon, who was presumed to be dead by his family until a recent call confirmed his location in a Guatemalan hospital. What started as a simple visit to a US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) office with his wife on June 20 to replace his green card, kept in a wallet which got stolen, turned into something much more serious, as reported by The Morning Call. The man was arrested by officers on the spot, and the family hadn't received any update on his whereabouts ever since. A simple green card renewal turned into a nightmare after an 82-year-old vanished and was presumed dead by his family, only to be later found hospitalized in Guatemala. Popular in his neighborhood as a handyman, Leon first came to the US back in 1987 after being granted political asylum during the time of dictator Augusto Pinochet's rule, as confirmed by his granddaughter to The Morning Call. Now living in America, he frequently went fishing with friends and was quite skilled with tools. His family claims that Leon has been an exemplary citizen, without being booked for so much as a parking ticket. On July 9, the man's wife received a phone call from an unknown number, which told the family that Leon had passed away. However, recently, a relative based in Chile came to know that he was alive and had been moved to a hospital in Guatemala after first being transferred to Minnesota. The ICE refuses to provide any further clarification on this matter. Digital databases of the ICE do not show any records of even arresting Leon in the first place, as reported by The Independent. A few days after his initial arrest, the family was contacted by an immigration lawyer who said she could help with the matter. The family claims that this is the same person who anonymously called them about Leon's death as well. The family, including his granddaughter, is now set to head to Guatemala on Saturday (July 26) to check up on and reunite with Leon. 'I can see all my family is in pain now,' she told The Morning Call. (By Stuti Gupta)

Emilie Kiser's hubby to face criminal charges in drowning death of son Trigg? Maricopa County Attorney's statement here
Influencer Emilie Kiser's husband, Brady Kiser, will not be charged with a crime in connection with the drowning death of their three-year-old son, Trigg, who breathed his last at Phoenix Children's Hospital on May 18. Brady Kiser was at home when Trig entered the backyard pool and was discovered unconscious, officials said.(Emilie Kiser on Instagram) The Maricopa County Attorney's Office in Arizona made the announcement on Friday, almost two weeks after Chandler Police suggested filing a felony child abuse charge in relation to the May 12 incident. According to officials, Brady was at home when Trig entered the backyard pool and was discovered unconscious. Maricopa County Attorney takes decision on charges recommended against Brady Kiser 'Every case submitted to the Maricopa County Attorney's Office is evaluated using the same standard: whether there is a 'reasonable likelihood of conviction,' said Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell in a statement, Daily Mail reported. 'After careful review of the evidence submitted by Chandler PD, it was determined this case does not meet that standard.' Also Read: Green Card holders received stark warning amid Trump's crackdown on immigrants A search warrant affidavit states that Brady admitted to investigators that he was preoccupied with the couple's newborn son, Theodore, and didn't see Trigg for a while. However, he found his 3-year-old unconscious in the pool when he looked for him. He then dialed 911. Officials claimed that surveillance footage from the house demonstrated how the drowning happened, but no other information was made public. In order to bring a child abuse allegation, prosecutors stressed that they would have to demonstrate that Brady failed to foresee a substantial and unacceptable risk and that his acts were a 'gross deviation from the standard of care a reasonable person would show.' Brady Kiser's lawyer issues statement According to a statement from his lawyer, Flynn Carey, his client is fortunate that the matter was carefully examined and determined as an unfortunate accident. 'We are grateful to law enforcement and the county attorney for conducting a thorough investigation and confirming that this was a tragic accident.' Carey further asserted that Brady is still in the middle of his grief journey and is grateful to be with his loved ones as they heal together. 'We appreciate the compassion and support shown during this difficult time,' he added.

Aniruddhacharya Apologises For Saying ‘Unmarried Women Have Loose Character'
A video shows Swami Aniruddhacharya saying that 25-year-old unmarried women have loose character. He also suggested that girls should be married at the age of 14. A video of spiritual speaker Swami Aniruddhacharya has sparked outrage, especially among women, over his alleged derogatory comments towards 25-year-old women. The remarks, reportedly made during a religious event in Vrindavan's Gauri Gopal Ashram, have led to protests and sharp criticism from many groups. The clip, which is being widely circulated online, features while speaking at the event. He reportedly said, 'Ab ladki late hai 25 saal ki. Ab 25 saal ki ladki chaar jagah mu maar chuki hoti hai. Sab nahi par bahut. Aur wo 25 saal ki jab aati hai toh puri jawan hoke aati hai. Jab jawan hoke aayegi toh swabhavik hai ki uski jawani kahi fisal jaegi (Now girls are marrying at the age of 25. By then, many, not all, have already been with multiple men. When a girl comes at 25, she is fully grown. Naturally, her youth may slip away somewhere)." He also referred to the Sonam Raghuvanshi and Muskan Rastogi cases, saying, 'Jaise ki ek honeymoon manane gayi, par wo kisi aur ke sath reh chuki thi, uske sath chakkar tha. Wo drum wala case purana nahi hua jyada (Like a woman went on her honeymoon, but she had already been with someone else. That case involving the drum is not even old)." He also allegedly said that girls should be married off at the age of 14 so that they can adjust better within the family. After the footage circulated online, widespread anger started, particularly from women and social groups. According to Navbharat Times, the women advocates of the Mathura Bar Association called the remarks anti-constitutional and sexist and submitted a complaint to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP). The advocates also staged a protest at the Collectorate and demanded strict legal action against Aniruddhacharya. Gunjan Sharma, state president of Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Sangharsh Nyas, strongly reacted to the video. As per Navbharat Times, she said that she will kill such an Acharya with her shoe. Meanwhile, Pandit Dinesh Falahari, the main petitioner in the Krishna Janmabhoomi case, also condemned the remarks and stated that such insensitive comments do not suit a person in a spiritual role. Swami Aniruddhacharya Issues An Apology As backlash intensified, Aniruddhacharya released a video apology through his official Instagram account. In it, he claimed that the viral video had been edited to create a misleading narrative. He said only a portion of his speech was circulated, while the rest, which offered clarification, was removed. In his statement, he said, 'Even if my incomplete words have hurt anyone, I apologise. Whether it is a man or a woman, both should be character-oriented. My comments were directed at some individuals, not the entire society." He reiterated that this clarification was edited out of the circulating video. When asked about the authenticity of the video, Aniruddhacharya suggested the possibility of AI manipulation. He said, 'Nowadays, it is the era of AI. Anyone can present my words however they like, using AI, and the world will think it is the truth." Despite the apology, protests from various women's and social organisations continue.
