Gattuso continues Italy tour with Lazio visit
The new boss will make his debut on the Italy bench in the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Estonia on September 5, then faces Israel on September 8.
With so little time to prepare, he is taking the summer to visit the training camps of the Serie A sides, getting to know the players, but also speak to their coaches.
Lazio the latest stop for Gattuso's tour
New Italy coach Gennaro Gattuso visits Roma and Gian Piero Gasperini (@officialasroma)
Today, Gattuso was in attendance at Formello to meet with Lazio, where he was welcomed by coach Maurizio Sarri, director of sport Angelo Maria Fabiani and club manager Alberto Bianchi.
He was accompanied by his own Nazionale staff, including Gigi Buffon, Luigi Riccio and Leonardo Bonucci.
Italy sacked Luciano Spalletti after starting the World Cup qualifying campaign with a 3-0 defeat to Norway and 2-0 victory over Moldova.
The new CT was brought in thanks also to his experience as a player, where he was part of the squad that won the 2006 World Cup.
