T-Mobile picks up Samsung's latest Galaxy rugged phone
T-Mobile has just announced a new addition to its huge portfolio of Android smartphones, the Galaxy XCover7 Pro, a rugged phone that Samsung introduced exactly one month ago.
Specifically designed for first responders and certified for T-Mobile 's T-Priority, the Galaxy XCover7 Pro will be available for purchase tomorrow via the carrier's official website. As far as the price goes, T-Mobile offers a couple of options to those who'd like to own Samsung's latest rugged smartphone. First off, the Galaxy XCover7 Pro is available for free (or up to $600 off an eligible Samsung device) with a new line on Business Unlimited Advanced. No trade is needed for this deal.The second option is to get the Galaxy XCover7 Pro for free (or up to $800 off an eligible device) when existing customers trade in an eligible device on an eligible Business Unlimited plan.As you can imagine, the Galaxy XCover7 Pro's rugged design withstands drops shocks, extreme temperatures, and vibrations. Also, the responsive touchscreen can be operated even with gloves on (2mm or less in thickness), while one touch provides instant access to calls with push-to-talk (PTT).

The rugged phone also received its MIL-STD-810H certification, a standardized form of testing designed by the US military to accurately assess device limitations.The device sports a 6.6-inch TFT LCD display with FHD+ resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection. It comes equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor, paired with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage (expandable up to 2 TB via microSD card).On the back, the Galaxy XCover7 Pro features a dual camera (50 MP main + 8 MP ultra-wide), while in the front there's a secondary 13-megapixel selfie snapper. The phone is powered by a 4,350 mAh battery, which can be replaced on the go.
Other highlights of the phone include dual-SIM support, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, QZSS, face recognition, dual speakers with Dolby Atmos support, fingerprint sensor, and programmable XCover key.

Samsung's first tri-fold smartphone will disappoint in the charging department
Samsung has long been rumored to be outing its first tri-fold smartphone, a la the Huawei Mate XT, later this year. Whether it's going to be announced alongside the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 at its next Unpacked event in New York in early July remains to be seen. This certification has revealed that the phone will only support 25W wired charging. Of course, a certification in China also confirms that the handset will launch over there. The tri-fold smartphone has the model number SM-F9680, where the "0" suffix signifies a phone intended for the Chinese market. Across the world, it will be SM-F968x, with the last character changing depending on market. SM-F968 has previously been associated with the tri-fold device. Unsurprisingly, the 3C certification also reveals the fact that Samsung will ship the tri-fold smartphone without a charger in the box. WhatsApp will give you the option to let others share your status updates
The latest feature that WhatsApp is working on is the ability for you to allow others to share your status updates. This is now live in the latest WhatsApp beta for Android, which means it will probably make it to the non-beta track in the next few weeks or months. The feature is pretty self-explanatory, really. The main point here is that this will be off by default. So if you want to let others share your status updates, you will have to turn that on during the creation of each status update. And when someone shares your status, you will be notified. However, viewers of the shared status won't see that it was you who created it, in order to preserve your privacy. Interestingly, if someone re-shares a shared status you created, you won't be notified of this action - only the person who first shared yours. That's because a shared status basically creates a new version of it. Up until now, sharing status updates was only possible by those who were directly mentioned in one. But with this new feature, anyone can share your statuses if you allow sharing. Of course, this greatly aids in the visibility of your statuses, if that's something you want. Source

But if dad already has a phone he likes, you can pick up something to accessorize it with – a new smartwatch, for example. The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra is built for durability and long battery life. It has advanced health tracking features like ECG. Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra There is only one version – a 4G-connected 47mm watch. This allows it to work independently of a phone, whether to track exercise outside or because dad forgot his phone. This offer comes bundled with a 25W charger – a bit overkill for the watch (it supports 10W), but you can use it for phones too. Alternatively, the Samsung Galaxy Watch7 is available in 40mm and 44mm sizes. It's a bit more stylish than the Ultra – at least its vibe isn't so outdoorsy – and it only has Bluetooth by default, making it a good deal more affordable.
