MHA begins shifting out of NorthBlock as new offices almost ready
An official said that around 25% of offices which come under the MHA, headed by Union home minister Amit Shah, have already moved to the CSS, which is part of the Central Vista project, while the rest of the staff and offices will move by the end of this week or the next week.
Among those who have already shifted to the new office premises is Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan and his staff, said the official cited above.
Other divisions and departments of the MHA - which are scattered in the North Block - have also begun moving their files, office equipment, etc.
The new building at CCS is designed to accommodate various departments under the MHA umbrella, including Internal Security, Border Management, Jammu and Kashmir Affairs, and Disaster Management, among others, which officials said will help in better coordination of work.
The MHA has been allotted around 350 rooms in the new CSS which includes large conference facilities, round the clock security arrangements and parking for the ministry officials, said a second officer.
MHA will be housed on the fourth floor - in Room No 34000 to 34119; Fifth Floor -- 35000 to 35109; Sixth Floor – room number 36000 to 36119, according to the ministry of housing and urban affairs order issued last month.
The iconic North Block, the Rashtrapati Bhawan, the Parliament House, and South Blocks were completed by the British by 1931.
Apart from MHA, several other ministries and departments of the government of India are also shifting to the CSS.

No One Asked India To Stop Operation Sindoor: PM Modi Replies To Oppositions Trump Ceasefire Claims

Replying to the Opposition's charges on US President Donald Trump's India-Pakistan ceasefire claims, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, while addressing the Lok Sabha, said that no leader of the world had asked India to stop Operation Sindoor. 'We said this on the first day in the press conference that our action is non-escalatory. We did Operation Sindoor by saying this. And that is why we stopped the strike after targets were achieved. No leader of the world asked India to stop Operation Sindoor,' the Prime Minister said. Operation Sindoor The Indian Armed Forces launched Operation Sindoor on May 7, targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). This came after the gruesome Pahalgam terror attack of April 22, in which 26 individuals were killed. According to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, the Operation targeted key terrorist hubs and achieved complete operational success within just 22 minutes, eliminating over 100 terrorists and handlers. Pakistan retaliated by launching drone and missile attacks on Indian territory. After four days of military conflict between India and Pakistan, a ceasefire agreement was announced on May 10. Amit Shah In Lok Sabha Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday, during the ongoing debate in Parliament on Operation Sindoor, said that Pakistan is Congress's mistake and added that during Operation Sindoor those who sent the terrorists were killed, and in Operation Mahadev those who carried out the attack were gunned down. "Pakistan is Congress's mistake. If they had not accepted partition, there would have been no Pakistan today," Shah said. "Operation Sindoor killed those who sent the terrorists, and Operation Mahadev killed those who carried out the attack... I thought that after hearing this news, there would be a wave of happiness in the ruling and the Opposition parties, 'Magar Syaahi padd gayi inke chehre pe' (Their faces are smeared with ink)... What kind of politics is this?" Shah said during the debate on Operation Sindoor in the Lower House. Responding to the opposition's "why there was no war" charge, the Union Home Minister said that PoK exists only because of Jawaharlal Nehru. He claimed that the Nehru government gave 80 percent of Indus waters to Pakistan and forgot about PoK in 1971 during Indira Gandhi's tenure as Prime Minister.

HM Amit Shah confirms killing of Pahalgam attackers in 'Operation Mahadev'

NEW DELHI: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on July 29 told Parliament that three Pakistani LeT terrorists behind the April 22 Pahalgam attack were killed in Operation Mahadev near Srinagar. Addressing the Lok Sabha during a special discussion on Operation Sindoor, Shah said the slain terrorists, Suleiman, Afghan, and Jibran, were top LeT operatives responsible for killing 26 tourists in Baisaran Valley. 'All three were eliminated after a two-month-long intelligence operation involving the Army, CRPF, and J&K Police. Their masters were earlier neutralised in Operation Sindoor,' Shah said. He revealed that Operation Mahadev began on May 22 when the Intelligence Bureau intercepted signals from an encrypted communication system used by the terrorists. After weeks of surveillance and coordination among security forces, their location was confirmed on July 22. 'We sent human assets who had seen their faces. They identified their bodies after the encounter,' he said. Shah said an M9 carbine and two AK-47s recovered from the terrorists were the same weapons used in the April 22 killings, confirmed by forensic tests in Chandigarh. 'This is a clear message: India will bring justice to every victim of terrorism,' he asserted. Shah said two Pakistani voter IDs and Pakistani-made chocolate packets were found on the terrorists, and their weapons came from a 'western neighbour.' He added that the NIA questioned 1,055 people over 3,000 hours, all documented.
