Influencer Lizzie Kieffer Shares Touching Moment She Had With 12-Month-Old Daughter Before Death
Pregnant influencer Lizzie Kieffer reflected on parenthood days before the death of her 12-month-old daughter, Lily.
In a Wednesday, April 23, Instagram video, Kieffer shared a series of clips with Lily and daughter Mia. In the snippets, Kieffer and her daughters are seen embracing, stretching alongside each other and going for a walk outside. 'Never forgot this was the whole point,' Kieffer wrote over the video.
'Being in the front row seat to their life is my greatest honor. 💕,' she captioned the post. (Kieffer shared in March that she and husband Matt are expecting their third child, due in September.)
Days later, Kieffer — a physical therapist who rose to fame on the internet for giving tips about women's health — shared that daughter Lily died days after her 1st birthday.
'We are shattered,' Kieffer wrote via Instagram on Saturday, April 26. 'Wednesday we woke up to a nightmare that we never could have ever imagined becoming our reality. Our Lily passed away. Our hearts, our bodies, our souls ache for her as she was the purist of beings and brought light to every single space she filled,' the post read. 'Our days were written before we were even formed, and in Lily's 374 days of life, she taught us more than I think many could in their lifetime.'
Kieffer noted the family will 'never fully understand this mystery until we see her again one day.'
'What we do know is God is faithful and brings light to the darkest of places. And we know Lily is being held so tight by Jesus and loved ones in heaven. And probably playing in her ball pit or riding in her little red car up there. We feel her,' she wrote, explaining that the family has 'come to learn' that Lily had a 'large mass on her brain.'
Kieffer claimed that they 'could have never known about as she never showed signs,' adding, 'We won't know more answers with many of these things for months until further testing is done.'

Kieffer noted that they are surrounded by their loved ones, before concluding the message with a photo of Lily smiling at the camera as she rode a tricycle.
'Lilybug, you are our angel. And we know you'll always be with us,' the post read. 'Daddy, Mommy, Mia & new baby love you so damn much and we miss you every single second.'
The caption read, 'We are shattered. You taught us more in 1 year than most can in their life, Lily. We feel you with us. And we feel your spirit already in this new baby. You will always, always be a part of us and although the hole will never be filled, speaking your name will sing through our days bringing joy into the moments. You're our light in this darkness and we know God is holding you in an extra special place.'
'Please keep our family deep in your prayers,' the caption concluded. 'We know they work and we feel them and the support. We appreciate it more than you know.'

This easy-to-blend tinted sunscreen makes my face look like there's a filter on it
I have fair skin, so I don't tan — I burn. And since a sunburn is painful and, more importantly, can seriously damage my skin, I'm on a perpetual mission to find sunscreens that I actually want to use. So when I heard that one of my favorite beauty brands had a new SPF up its sleeve, I had high hopes. Well, guess what: It's even better than I was expecting. Merit's The Uniform is the brand's first tinted SPF and second complexion product (you may have heard of its cult-favorite foundation stick, The Minimalist). This mineral sunscreen has SPF 45 protection and guards against broad-spectrum UVA and UVB rays. As the name suggests, The Uniform was designed to be an SPF that you can wear every day and seamlessly incorporate into your beauty routine. The clean formula is weightless and non-greasy thanks to the ultra-fine zinc oxide. It's also dermatologist-tested, silicone- and oil-free, and it won't clog pores. In terms of coverage, The Uniform is available in 15 shades that correspond to Merit's foundation sticks, and each tint can be built up from light to medium coverage. Plus, each shade has a natural finish that's free of any white cast, so don't let the fact that this is a mineral formula scare you off. I put The Uniform to the test on a long afternoon walk that turned into lunch and running errands with a friend. After my usual skin care, I applied The Uniform to my face and neck with my hands. While the formula looked like a regular foundation when I first pumped it onto my fingers, it blended effortlessly into my skin and didn't leave behind any streaks. It was so seamless and natural-looking that I applied a second layer because I wasn't sure if I had missed any spots. I always have some redness around my nose and my cheekbones, so I was pleasantly surprised at how my skin was instantly perfected. My complexion was immediately evened out without looking (or feeling) like I was wearing a full-coverage foundation — it was almost like Instagram's perfecting Paris filter in real life — and it pretty much stayed that way until I washed it off hours later. Full disclosure: I didn't reapply this tinted sunscreen, but if I were using it during a beach or pool day when I'd be in the direct sun for hours, I definitely would have. It's also not waterproof, so I'd reapply after any swimming or sweating! Related: These are the best sunscreens for sensitive skin in 2025, according to experts I know that I'll be reaching for The Uniform all season to protect my skin. I also plan on replacing my usual tinted moisturizer with this formula since it did a great job at covering imperfections and has a much stronger SPF. While The Uniform only launched in May, it's already garnering glowing reviews. "As someone who is naturally tan, with an olive skin tone with acne, I was afraid the product would not do anything for me. I was wrong … it applied flawlessly. Over the last few days, I've felt confident going out of the house with The Uniform and only The Uniform on. Merit is on to something here," wrote one five-star fan. Another happy user raved: "I'm a huge fan of tinted foundations, especially in the warmer months. After testing out Merit Beauty's The Uniform for a week, I couldn't put it down. ... It felt lightweight and not sticky. There's no scent. I absolutely am obsessed!" A final customer shared: "The Uniform is a dream of an SPF! I use shade 8 and I love how easily it blends, how the formula feels like nothing on my skin and how gorgeous the natural finish is!" Some fans did point out that at $38, this is a pricey SPF. I agree, but seeing as a little goes a long way (and I won't be using it on my arms and legs!), I can justify the price — especially since I can hold off on buying more foundation, since this is a two-in-one product. The reviews quoted above reflect the most recent versions at the time of publication.

Puppy abandoned after being diagnosed with deadly disease – but she's a fighter
When humans hear the word 'parvo,' which is an infection known as canine parvovirus, come out of the mouths of their veterinarians, it can cause panic. The virus, which is extremely contagious, attacks 'white blood cells and the gastrointestinal tract of dogs' and in puppies 'can damage the heart muscle,' the American Veterinary Medical Association says. So when a puppy named Lily was diagnosed in a Chicago emergency vet, hope waned. 'A parvovirus diagnosis is the last thing you want to hear as a pet owner. It's deadly, highly contagious, and very expensive to treat, for a pet owner or a shelter,' the PAWSChicago shelter said in a June 5 Instagram post. 'After Lily was admitted to an emergency vet clinic, her owner wouldn't come back for her. Things are hard right now. Pet surrenders are up 312% at CACC, many of them because people are struggling to afford the cost of basic pet care, let alone major medical costs.' Thankfully, the shelter was able to take the sweet girl in. In the video posted to social media, Lily is a spunky girl with large eyes and a boopable nose. 'But Lily can't live at the emergency clinic, and she needed someplace to go. Earlier this week, she came to PAWS to continue her treatment. While she hasn't beat parvo yet, she's doing really well so far!' the shelter said. To keep up with Lily's story, follow the shelter's Instagram.
