Legendary Rock Guitarist, 74, Gives Health Update After Canceling Shows
The former KISS guitarist announced on May 21 that he had to pull out of a pair of upcoming shows due to his health.
"Hello everyone," he posted on social media. "I wanted to let you all know that I will sadly be unable to perform this weekend on Friday, May 23, at Brat Fest in Madison, Wisconsin, or Saturday, May 24, at the Arcada Theater in St. Charles, Illinois."
"Although not serious, I am ill and don't feel that I am capable of the rigorous travel or performing up to my usual standards this weekend," he added.
"I extend my deepest regrets and most sincere apologies for having to cancel. I thank you all for your understanding in the matter," wrote the "New York Groove" singer.
"Take care of yourself! We are bummed we won't be seeing you on Saturday but your health is far more important," wrote one fan.
"Your fans love you and totally understand. Play a show here and there, when you're up to it," added another.
"Wishing you a speedy recovery!" commented one follower, while another added, "Get well, Spaceman."
Frehley has performed as a solo artist for the past two decades. He rejoined KISS (Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Peter Criss) in 1996 and stayed with the band until 2002. He did not participate in KISS's farewell tour, which concluded in 2023.
Frehley released his eighth solo album, 10,000 Volts, in 2024. He said his next release will be a third installment in his Origins series, where he covers songs that inspired him.
"I could have it ready [this year]," he said on a February episode of SiriusXM's Trunk Nation with Eddie Trunk, per Blabbermouth. "I can do the album in a month because I don't have to write the songs. That's the beauty of the Origins series….All I have to do is Ace-ify it."Legendary Rock Guitarist, 74, Gives Health Update After Canceling Shows first appeared on Parade on May 22, 2025

Trump says he'll host Kennedy Center awards
President Trump announced on Wednesday that he'll be hosting this year's Kennedy Center Honors after prodding from his chief of staff, Susie Wiles. 'It's gonna be a big evening. I've been asked to host. I said, 'I'm the president of the United States. Are you fools, asking me to do this?'' said Trump, who named himself chairman of the cultural institution's board earlier this year. ''Sir, you'll get much higher ratings.' I said, 'I don't care. I'm president of the United States. I won't do it.' They said 'please.' And then Susie Wiles said to me, 'Sir, I'd like you to host.' I said, 'Okay, Susie, I'll do it,'' the president recounted, prompting laughter from the audience. 'So, I have agreed to host,' Trump said, though he stressed he 'did not insist' upon the job. Trump was at the Kennedy Center on Wednesday to reveal the 2025 class of Honors recipients, including actor Sylvester Stallone, country music star George Strait, disco singer Gloria Gaynor, actor Michael Crawford and the rock band KISS. He said he was '98 percent involved' in the process of selecting honorees, and appeared to suggest some contenders were turned down for being 'too woke.' 'I turned down plenty. They were too woke. I turned- I had a couple of woke-sters. No, we have great people,' the president said. Trump has also teased that his name could possibly replace that of the 35th president on the historic institution.

Why This Former Led Zeppelin Member Will Never Play 'Stairway to Heaven' Again
Why This Former Led Zeppelin Member Will Never Play 'Stairway to Heaven' Again originally appeared on Parade. Led Zeppelin is one of the most iconic classic rock bands, and "Stairway to Heaven" is frequently cited as one of the greatest classic rock songs of all time. The epic eight-minute track is famed for its slow opening riff, its soft vocals, and Jimmy Page's bombastic guitar shredding in the song's final third. While Zeppelin broke up in 1980, the band's three surviving members—Page, singer Robert Plant, and bassist/keyboardist John Paul Jones—reunited for one night only in 2007. The event was recorded and released in 2012 as the film Celebration Day. While Plant, Jones, and Page are all still alive, they've made it clear that another reunion concert will never happen again. Why? Because they want to remember it for what it was and leave it in that moment in time. Now, as Plant gears up to release a new album with his new band, Saving Grace, he's revealed that he doesn't just feel that way about performing with his old bandmates, but about performing their hit songs as well. 🎬 SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬 Plant spoke to Mojoabout the pressure from fans to play the hits—and why he refuses to do it. 'What were the hits?" the Grammy winner asked. "How can they be related to now, where do they fit? They fit as a sort of memoir…' He continued to address why he'll never play Led Zeppelin's greatest hit. 'When people say that I don't like 'Stairway to Heaven,' I just don't like the idea of it," Plant explained. "These iconic things – they're just what they are." Plant has a point. Some things are better left untouched and left in a moment in time, like an iconic classic song or a whirlwind vacation romance. Saving Grace's album, also called Saving Grace, will be released on September 26.
