Orphaned bear cubs rescued from Calaveras County neighborhood
The San Diego Humane Society says the three cubs were spotted over the course of several days.
With no mother in sight, the cubs were rescued by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife and then taken to the San Diego Humane Society's Ramona Wildlife Center.
Officials say the cubs, two males and a female, were about six to seven months old.
Rescuers euthanized one of the cubs after finding it had bone defects and a BB pellet embedded in one of her paws.
The other two cubs are now settling into their rescue habitat with the goal of minimally invasive care to avoid the animals from bonding with humans.

Carolyn Hax: After snub in grandma's will, cousins snub the rest of the family
Dear Carolyn: I recently found out that some cousins (same immediate family) have cut off the rest of the extended family, including me. They told only some people directly. I found out only when we discovered via his obituary that my uncle, their dad, had died. I know why they did this but I don't understand why this was their choice of action. Our grandparents had a sizable estate; when my grandma died, we learned she had changed her will to reduce the distributions to this family of cousins. I have no idea why, and from what I have been told, no one else was involved in the decision (she was still of sound mind at the time). My cousins hired an attorney and cut the rest of us off. The estate is not yet resolved.
