Monster Hunter Wilds Promises Stronger Bosses Are Coming After Complaints About It Being Too Easy
Ahead of its February 28 release, Capcom is already giving fans a tease of Monster Hunter Wilds' first big title update coming in early April. The free post-launch patch will include even more powerful monsters for players to hunt, a relief following pre-release worries that the game might be the easiest Monster Hunter yet.
'Prepare your gear, and resolve, hunters! TU1 will bring with it a monster of formidable strength at a level above Tempered!' Capcom revealed on Thursday. 'Another challenging monster will also await you!' The leviathan Mizutsune was previously teased as one of the first post-launch beats coming to the game. The publisher also confirmed a social hub for players to meet, communicate, and eat with one another will be added in April and available to players who have completed the game's main story.
That's welcome news considering that there's currently no place to hang out with other hunters and show off cool armor and gear. The news of stronger bosses on the way is also great, considering Monster Hunter Wilds' main story can be a cake walk and even some of the post-game content doesn't feel too difficult if you're correctly prepared or rolling with a full squad of other players (or AI-controlled NPCs).

A number of early reviews of the game dinged it for how streamlined it feels compared to past entries in the action-RPG series, with some critics and longtime fans especially concerned about the lack of really challenging content even in high-rank missions. That said, as I wrote in my review earlier this week, I've still been having a blast with Monster Hunter Wilds and there's clearly plenty of room for more challenging content to arrive in the future. Plus series veterans have been through the same difficulty debate plenty of times before.
I'm still cleaning up the last of the side quests in the base game and have found myself occasionally getting demolished by a particularly challenging foe like a Tempered Jin Dahaad (it was also late at night and I was starting to fall asleep, which might have been a part of it). And even when Monster Hunter Wilds isn't making me sweat, every moment has still been a joy.
It's a pretty frictionless experience so far, yes, but also still an incredibly robust, refined, and meaty version of the Monster Hunter experience. It's easy to see it only getting better with time. A month after launch for the first new bosses might be a long wait for some, but it gives the average player plenty of time to get through everything Monster Hunter Wilds currently has to show them, which is a lot.

Hasbro's New Marvel Legends Figures Are the Bendiest Boys Around
Whether it's Mr. Fantastic or Shuma-Gorath (sorry, 'Gargantos'), Hasbro's newest Marvel reveals are all about that flexibility. Today Hasbro revealed a boatload of Marvel Legends figures, and they were united beyond the mere fact that they were action figures made by Hasbro, and were from Marvel properties. No, there was a standout theme among today's reveals: bendiness. It would be otherwise difficult to marry the two halves of Hasbro's reveals today—our first official look at action figures from The Fantastic Four: First Steps alongside a series of gaming-themed celebrations of Capcom's classic Marvel fighting games—but somehow the toymaker did it with a little help from Mr. Fantastic and… Shuma-Gorath. Hasbro Marvel Legends Gamerverse Gargantos Sorry, Gargantos. The legally distinct Shuma-Gorath, who looks a lot like Shuma-Gorath, and instead currently borrows its name from an incredibly obscure Namor the Sub-Mariner villainous octopus to avoid potential copyright issues. Either way, they've both got big long bendy limbs! Hasbro Marvel Legends Fantastic Four: First Steps Mr. Fantastic Thankfully, Reed also comes with a pair of normal arms that you can swap out if you don't want his wired, bendable stretchy limbs going all the time. But Gigantos is all bend, all the time, with multiple points of articulation across his six tendrils that make what is otherwise a giant green one-eyed tentacled eldritch abomination surprisingly expressive. Hasbro Marvel Legends Fantastic Four: First Steps Figures Of course though, non-bendy action figures were also on display. Rounding out the rest of the First Steps wave are, of course, the rest of the Fantastic Four, based on their MCU appearances: Sue, Johnny, and Ben all get figures, as does a fully flamed-on Human Torch. While there's no movie Galactus figure for them to battle against yet, the line is rounded out by his herald in the form of Shalla Bal, the Silver Surfer, who comes with not only her cosmic surfboard but a nifty little energy blast stand you can pose her surfing on. Hasbro Marvel Legends Gamerverse Figures The Gamerverse fighting game figures, beyond Gargantos, are all inspired by the early stages of Marvel's historic gaming collaboration with Capcom across a series of arcade fighting games, most notably Marvel Super Heroes, Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter, and the original Marvel vs. Capcom. Gargantos and a deluxe-sized Juggernaut, however, are the only standalone figures: the rest are available across a series of two packs, some of which will be exclusive in the U.S. to retailers like Walmart, Target. Here's the breakdown of who's facing off against who: Wolverine vs. Silver Samurai Psylocke vs. Thanos (Target exclusive) Captain America vs. Venom War Machine vs. Omega Red (Walmart exclusive) Hasbro's Fantastic Four: First Steps figures will hit Hasbro Pulse for pre-order tomorrow, May 30, ahead of a release this summer. The 'Gamerverse' two-packs will have staggered pre-order launches across Hasbro Pulse, Target, and Walmart across the month of June.

Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is getting a new mode to coincide with the Switch 2 launch
Capcom just announced that Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is getting a new mode to coincide with its launch-day release for the Switch 2, which is June 5 . It's called Otherworldly Ventures and introduces some roguelike mechanics to the action/strategy game. In other words, it's essentially an endless mode. You start off with limited abilities and choose from various upgrades when defeating waves of enemies. Lots of games do something like this, including titles like Vampire Survivors and Downwell . It will also introduce a scoring element, for those who want to ascend a leaderboard. To view this content, you'll need to update your privacy settings. Please click here and view the "Content and social-media partners" setting to do so. To make the roguelike-inspired mechanics work, the developers have simplified other aspects of the gameplay. Protagonist Soh won't have to rescue villagers and crystals will accumulate more quickly than in the standard game. Also, Yoshiro will make her own way to the gate, instead of having to be guided. The whole thing looks pretty fun. Despite launching alongside the Switch 2, Otherworldly Ventures will be available for every version of the game on June 5. This includes PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Windows and Steam. It's also free, which is always nice. To view this content, you'll need to update your privacy settings. Please click here and view the "Content and social-media partners" setting to do so. For the uninitiated, Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is a fun hybrid of third-person combat and tower-defense. We heaped praise on the game in our official review , calling it "perfectly balanced, lovingly crafted and metal as hell."
