3 arrested for alleged theft worth HK$80,000 on flight from India to Hong Kong
The force said on Tuesday that the arrests the previous day were made after police received reports from three Indian nationals who had flown to Hong Kong from the country.
The victims placed their backpacks on the overhead rack of the cabin, and subsequently found that cash and other property were lost, prompting them to seek help from the force.
Three mainland Chinese men aged between 47 and 58 were arrested and detained after a preliminary investigation.
The trio had allegedly stolen a pair of bracelets worth HK$50,000 and Hong Kong dollars and foreign currency cash valued at HK$34,400 from the victims.
The case is being investigated by a criminal intelligence and support team at the force's airport division.

Japanese pop idol Kenshin Kamimura molested a female interpreter and made unwelcome advances after a fan event in Hong Kong earlier this year, a court has heard. The interpreter said Kamimura repeatedly made swiping and tapping motions to touch her left thigh after joining her table of nine people.

Hong Kong worker dies after falling from 3-storey village house
A worker fell to his death while working on the rooftop of a three-storey Hong Kong village house on Wednesday, taking the number of industrial fatalities in July to 10, according to a concern group. Police said on Wednesday that the 44-year-old cleaning and maintenance worker was carrying out work on top of the house in Tai Lam Chung Tsuen before he fell and lost consciousness at about 3.20pm. Emergency personnel arrived and rushed him to Tuen Mun Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead at 5.28pm. Scaffolding work at the house began about a month ago as part of renovation preparations. The Association for the Rights of Industrial Accident Victims urged the Labour Department to conduct a thorough investigation and make the preliminary cause of the accident public. It also appealed to the victim's employer to offer support to his family.

China guard dies after arriving early for shift, boss says not work-related, refuses payout
The employer of an early-arriving security guard in China who died in a sweltering workplace without air conditioning has refused to recognise his demise as work-related. The firm has also declined to pay the man's family compensation, sparking widespread outrage online. The 50-year-old man, surnamed Zhou, worked the early shift at a residential community in Xi'an, Shaanxi province, northeastern China, Jimu News reported.
