Viewers watched 11 pairs make their debut - but were immediately faced with a twist.
Only 10 pairs would get a room in The Fortune Hotel - as one duo would be eliminated at the first hurdle.
The contestants took part in a tense boat race, with the first five pairs to arrive guaranteed safety.
However, the bottom six were at risk of leaving before the contest fully began.
One by one, they picked a case while hoping they didn't find the dreaded early checkout card.
Business partners Briony and Chelsea were the unlucky pair - with their Fortune Hotel journey ultimately short and sweet.
One viewer wrote on X: "So unlucky for Bryony and Chelsey #TheFortuneHotel."
Another added: "Awww poor Briony and Chelsea! #TheFortuneHotel."
A third chimed in: "Well that lasted long. Gutted for them both!!

I can reveal the former Deal Or No Deal and Noel's House Party host was hoping the initial three-parter, which followed his new life in New Zealand with wife Liz, would become a fixture on the channel. 5 Noel Edmonds' Kiwi Adventure has been axed by ITV Credit: PA But the broadcaster has no plans to make further episodes as ratings didn't hit the levels required. A TV insider said: 'It's a blow to Noel as he was convinced he was on to a winning idea. 'There was a great buzz around the series and it was well received by both viewers and critics alike. 'But it needed big numbers to spark a follow-up and attracting 1-1.5million per episode just wasn't enough.' Noel Edmonds' Kiwi Adventure, which aired in June, followed the veteran star's bid to turn his River Haven estate, which features a vineyard, pub and wellness centre, into a success and win over locals in the area. The series, which was compared to Prime Video hit Clarkson's Farm, also focused on Noel's quirky side, including his fascination with crystal healing. Sources close to Noel confirmed his disappointment but insisted other major factors were behind the decision — namely, the extreme weather. A source close to Noel told me: 'River Haven has been hit badly by flooding, it's made working on the estate almost impossible. 'That would have meant filming would have been seriously hampered.' They added: 'As far as Noel is concerned, the show has been put on ice.'
