Strava's CEO Has a New Way to Improve Your Workouts
Michael Martin is a lifelong athlete, but these days, he can't join a run club. He's tried, and the minute he mentions his day job, everybody else stops running. That's because Martin, 52, is the chief executive of the popular running and cycling app Strava. 'I consider feedback a gift,' Martin said, 'but, oh my gosh, the run club will stop and I will just get all of this feedback about the product and what they want it to do next.' It's impossible, it seems, to find runners without a workout-ending cacophony of opinions on Strava.

Bryson DeChambeau Joins President Trump's Council - And Fans Are Not Happy
Bryson DeChambeau Joins President Trump's Council - And Fans Are Not Happy originally appeared on The Spun. Two-time US Open champion Bryson DeChambeau was in attendance for this Thursday's executive order ceremony regarding the Presidential Fitness Test. It was announced this week that President Donald Trump would bring back the fitness test that was originally created in 1966. The Obama administration "moved away from recognizing athletic performance to providing a barometer on student's health" in 2012. The goal was to focus on the individual's fitness journey instead of making middle and high school students feel like they're in a competition with each other. By bringing back this fitness test, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Trump "wants to ensure America's future generations are strong, healthy, and successful." In an effort to promote this new initiative, Trump has created the President's Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition. It turns out DeChambeau has joined that group along with NFL kicker Harrison Butker and WWE legend Triple H. "I want to get kids excited about pushing themselves," DeChambeau said, via GolfMagic. "We believe we can change the fabric of our communities and kids' livelihoods for the future generations that are to come. I can't thank you enough and looking forward to making massive changes in kids lives and America's future." After DeChambeau announced that he's joining the President's Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition, countless fans shared their thoughts on social media. As of this moment, it's fair to say golf fans are torn on DeChambeau's alliance with President Trump. "Great job Bryson," one fan said. "This is such an important issue. Healthier kids should be a priority for everyone." "Bryson always going beyond what's expected of him. Love this dude," a second fan wrote. "Does Bryson not care about Trump's behavior," one person argued. "Bryson is a MAGA/Trump supporter. He will make the Ryder Cup an actual embarrassment for America. It will be ugly and all about Trump," another person declared. DeChambeau and Trump have spent time together before. In fact, they tried to break 50 nearly a year ago at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster. We'll see if this duo can help promote active lifestyles for American DeChambeau Joins President Trump's Council - And Fans Are Not Happy first appeared on The Spun on Jul 31, 2025 This story was originally reported by The Spun on Jul 31, 2025, where it first appeared.

President Trump Names 6 NFL Stars To Sports, Fitness Council
President Trump Names 6 NFL Stars To Sports, Fitness Council originally appeared on The Spun. President Donald Trump is leaning on a few current and former NFL stars to shape the next generation of athletes. On Thursday afternoon, Trump held a ceremony where he signed an executive order to bring back the Presidential Fitness Test. It was around for decades before the Obama administration tweaked it. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Trump wanted to restore the traditional Presidential Fitness Test because he "wants to ensure America's future generations are strong, healthy, and successful." During this Thursday's ceremony, Trump celebrated the return of this fitness test. He told reporters, "It was a wonderful tradition, and we're bringing it back." In addition to reviving the Presidential Fitness Test this week, Trump unveiled the President's Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition. There are a plethora of marquee names backing this mission. Here are the five active NFL players who'll be on Trump's new council: San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo Former New York Giants linebacker Lawrence Taylor It's not a surprise to see Barkley on the President's Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition. After all, he played a round of golf with Trump earlier this year. "Some people are really upset cause I played golf[] and flew to the White House with the PRESIDENT," Barkley wrote on social media. "Maybe I just respect the office, not a hard concept to understand. Just golfed with Obama not too long ago…and look forward to finishing my round with Trump! Now ya get out my mentions with all this politics and have [an] amazing day." Bosa's name being on this list shouldn't shock people either. He endorsed Trump leading up to the 2024 election, flexing a Make America Great Again hat on "Sunday Night Football." The President's Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition will also feature Bryson DeChambeau, Paul 'Triple H' Levesque, Jack Nicklaus and Mariano Rivera among Trump Names 6 NFL Stars To Sports, Fitness Council first appeared on The Spun on Aug 1, 2025 This story was originally reported by The Spun on Aug 1, 2025, where it first appeared.
