‘People don't vanish': Update on missing teen

Police have issued a fresh plea for public assistance, a week on from the last known sighting of Queensland teenager Pheobe Bishop.
Phoebe Bishop, 17, was last seen at Airport Dr in Bundaberg around 8.30am on May 15.
She did not check-in for a booked flight and has not been seen or heard from since.

Police on Thursday revealed that no one is currently in custody in relation to the disappearance the teenager.

Police are also appealing to the public for dashcam and CCTV footage of the grey Hyundai ix35 with Queensland registration 414EW3 near the Airport Drive and Samuels Road area in Bundaberg and also the Gin Gin area on May 15.
Detective Acting Inspector Ryan Thompson said public information will be vital to forwarding this investigation.
'You may have the small piece of information that leads us to finding Pheobe,' he said.

Act. Insp Thompson said police were told Ms Bishop was dropped off at the airport by 'associates'.
'We're still working together to piece together her movements on that day,' he said.
Acting Police Commissioner Shane Chelepy said police hold 'real concerns' for Ms Bishop's welfare and also pleaded for anyone with information to come forward.
'We've got real concerns, Ms Bishop's been now missing for seven days and we'll now treat her as a missing person [that is] suspicious,' Act. Commissioner Chelepy said on the 4BC Breakfast Show. 'If any of the public have seen that vehicle and its movement or seen Pheobe in that time, we really do urgently need them to contact Crimestoppers or Policelink today.'
Pheobe's mother Kylie Johnson, who has been pleading for public assistance since her daughter first disappeared, wrote a heartfelt message to the missing teenager on Thursday.
'Phee is still missing our heartache and pain is raw and real,' she wrote on Facebook.
'We as a family are trying to hang onto the light of life that is our Free Spirited Gypsy Soul Phee Phee.
'Phee we need you home, we need to hear your sassy voice and feel your hugs.'

On April 18 about 12.30pm he was found lying injured next to his silver Holden Commodore. He was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital with bleeding on the brain, broken ribs and a collapsed lung. "We just want to know what happened, and put our mind to rest." Police are also putting out the call for more information. "Elmars wasn't in the state where he could tell us what happened, hence why we're still here now trying to figure that out," Detective Senior Sergeant Jarrod Manson said. The homicide squad has been called in, trying to piece together the 24 hours before the grandfather was discovered. Daughter Courtney Mallard said the family just want to know what happened so they can have closure (9News) CCTV from a Maddington shopping centre showed the clothes he was wearing. "We're still unsure of how these injuries have occurred. It may be from a vehicle and it may be from an assault, and that's what we're here trying to figure out," Manson said. Flyers of information will be put into food hampers and handed out to homeless people in the area in the hopes someone knows something. A mobile police unit has also set up at the old Armadale courthouse until tomorrow. WA Police are also putting out the call for more information. A man taking an evening walk along the Murray riverbank came across the partially buried remains of a skull near the entrance to Apex Riverbeach Holiday Parks about 5.30pm on Monday. Police were called to the riverbank where they established a crime scene and launched an investigation. Barrier Police District Inspector Wayne Demery from NSW Police told the ABC the early indications were the remains were not historic ones. 'The remains will be sent to Newcastle for a special forensic investigation,' he said. 'We've got a crime scene guard in place, until our crime scene section is able to attend and do a full examination of the scene.'
