Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has announced the launch of Adahi Campaign 2025/1446 AH, with a licence from the Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities (RACA).
Under the slogan 'Udhiyah Is Blessing', this seasonal project is aimed at delivering Udhiya sacrificial meat to poor families during Eid Al-Adha, with a view to promoting human unity and social solidarity.
Every year since 2017, QRCS has been implementing the Adahi campaign, designed to enable the public to observe the ritual Udhiya sacrifice offering. Upon receiving the donations, QRCS ensures the delivery of the meat of donated Udhiya sacrificial animals to those in need, in cooperation with local and international partners. This year's campaign involves 14 countries — Qatar, Jordan, Syria, Palestine (Gaza), Yemen, Mauritania, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Djibouti, Sudan, Niger, Chad, Tanzania, and Somalia.
All necessary arrangements have been made to receive donations for the available sacrificial sheep, goats, and cows. Then, the donated sacrificial animals will be secured during the project's duration, and the slaughter process will be carried out in accordance with health regulations and within the Shariah-specified timeframe. The meat will be distributed as food rations to 271,000 most vulnerable beneficiaries.
Faisal Mohamed Al Emadi, secretary-general of QRCS, congratulated all Muslims around the world for this religious occasion.

Municipalities gear up for Eid Al-Adha
Continued from page 1 Al Wakrah also initiated an inspection and awareness campaign focused on traditional food restaurants to ensure compliance with health standards and to educate workers on proper food handling procedures as part of its Eid preparations. Municipalities such as Umm Salal, Al Khor, Al Thakhira, and Al Daayen organised comprehensive operational plans for Eid Al-Adha. These include enhancing the readiness of sanitation teams to operate around the clock, intensifying cleaning efforts in residential neighbourhoods, markets, and high-traffic areas, and organising traditional markets and livestock markets to ensure smooth operations in coordination with security authorities. Supervision of abattoirs has been enhanced through increased operational capacity, additional work shifts, and the inclusion of veterinary inspectors to examine animals and ensure their wellbeing. To maintain cleanliness during and after the slaughter process, the number of waste collection personnel and equipment has been doubled. Field patrols in neighbourhoods and markets have been intensified and additional waste bins have been distributed at key locations. A rapid response system for reports and complaints will be available through the unified call center. The Ministry of Municipality asks the public to adhere to the use of licensed abattoirs for animal slaughter, avoid random and unsupervised practices, and cooperate with sanitation teams to maintain a clean and safe environment. The ministry emphasised that the success of these efforts relies on the awareness and cooperation of the entire community.

According to Eng. Faisal Al-Ansari, Executive Director of Qatar Calendar House the crescent of Dhul-Hijjah 1446 AH will be born on Tuesday, May 27 (the observation day) at 6:03 AM Doha local time (3:03 AM UTC). Astronomical principles dictate that the movement of the moon around Earth determines the start and end of Hijri (Islamic) months. The movement of Earth around the sun governs the start and end of Gregorian months.
